@Ted Ching I can kinda see why INXS are still a big thing in the US, if you go back to 'Kick', that was like the big bang for them, tailor made for MTV, Michael Hutchence was all over the place...the future was set, their whole back catalogue is very US friendly. I miss MH, the whole thing about that was sad. We don't seem to have any decent rock gods anymore...that was another good thing about the 90s🤔 At least the music keeps us smiling👍
@Ted Ching Simply Red did a concert about 15 miles from me in the UK 2 nights ago, couldn't go cos of work but seen them 30 years ago at Wembley Stadium, unforgettable experience! I try to keep open on contemporary stuff but it really is few and far between, as with anything...less is more...more is less. I got a 23 year old son and he's even dissallusioned with most of today's music, preferring to listen to Elton, George Michael, Simple Minds or Tears for Fears and he's discovered those himself and not me influencing him etc. If you liked a song years ago you'd actually have to make quite a bit of effort to get it, even taping it off the radio, you know? Now you can get it on here or other sites in seconds but then get bored of it after 10 minutes🤣 I think the last new song I was impressed with was Overpass Graffiti by Ed Sheeran, I'm not a fan but I think it's a well crafted good old pop song...there's still hope👍
For me, this song really captures the feeling of the 90s. Youngsters today have no idea just how cool Seal was back in the day. In the early 90s I was poor struggling young art student and my class had a trip to London to see the galleries. While we were on the coach one of the students shouted, "Oh my God it's Seal!" - sure enough it was. He was sitting in the back seat of an open cabriolet with two babes sitting either side of him. Every student got up and dived across to get a look at him. I swear I thought the bus was going to tip over. He even waved to us. It was as though we had witnessed a living a God. Happy days!
The message is what makes it *stand out* along with some killer samples and drum grooves I mean deyam. Listen to that guitar pick lick wrestling he's got going on there with the the choir and string synths... spot on.
This isn't just a song it's a message to those who are fast asleep in this dysfunctional system/ society. If you're waking up welcome to the fight. You are here for a reason.
Straight up. I'm about to use the words of this song in my next video haha, this is a perfect depiction of things right now and it's time to revolutionize the status quo. It doesn't work anymore. I think it's time to ignore red and blue and choose otherwise for the first time since George Washington. I want a unity government and every red and blue person in my close circle has told me I'm insane for thinking an independent can win an election in this country. But if there's supposed to be power to the people, let's gather the people and decide who WE want as president. I want someone I trust this year and it isn't red or blue. Let's get crazy and do something new for once ha.
I still remember seeing this in the 90's when I was about 10 years old, and remember thinking and believing that Seal was like a wise God who was singing in the heavens.
This is real music. A true gift of a voice. No auto tune here. I'm 54. I was 21 when this came out. What other age is more appropriate? Why is this "connecting with young people" to listen to. And no, 54 is not old.
A 34 years old work of art & still popping like it was recorded last night.. This is when analog sound was at its peak.. would give ANYTHING to get that back
I thought it was quite funny that it was playing as I was strolling through Home Depot in 2023. It's either a timeless piece, or they know their customers are mostly early millennials now.
Just saw him in concert a couple nights ago! 60 years old and still going strong! Still has his beautiful voice!! He opened up with this song. If you get the chance to see him in concert I highly recommend it!
My wife and I saw him last night in Seattle. Can 100% confirm the recommendation. A sincere, moving performance that fits with his career but other stars of his stature might go too slick to achieve.
The biggest hit of 1992 in Sarajevo city under siege.I listened as a teenager in a shelter during the shelling of the city.Everyone would gather from the building and listen with the help of generators.

I would say that it has the sound of some of its European contemporaries in the late-80's, early-90's. Depeche had released Violator not long before, and U2's Achtung Baby came out the same year. There was this fusion of hip-hop beats, industrial rock, and funk going on at the time. Certainly sounded very futuristic, and it holds up well today.
This song is omnipresent. Timeless. Why aren't music like this still being created? 32 years later and this Masterpiece feels like it's being created in 3099! This piece liberates my mind from the clutches of worldy cares and burdens. Seal is priceless.
Yeah, it stunning how low the bar is for 99% of today’s non-music. Much less vocal and less musician talent, no doubt. Most folks now seem to use music as a distraction versus a source for passion and immersion. What a brilliant song and brilliant video.
I was 24 years old, dating a blonde bimbo and clubbing with her and her friends every weekend. so much sex, alcohol, drugs and party music has never been consumed since
I have three photographic images which still haunt me. One was of me and my school buddies in 1985 outside a Sea Point nightclub about to enter. The second is of me and new friends taken in 1991 also in Sea Point outside a nightclub. The third is of me with the woman who was doomed to be my wife and some of her friends in Sea Point outside a restaurant. All photographs were taken at night by no-one I can remember using a camera I don't think I ever possessed. Behind us in the middle distance, stands a slightly out of focus hooded figure looking in our direction. Today, I am the only person in those three photographs who is still alive. I don't know how much time I have left. Wait, was that a knock at my door? BRB
Listen up people, this is music.

Who wouldn't bump this shit in 2024. Timeless classic.
I love it now better than when I loved it when it came out. Stands the test of time. Great tune!!!! 2024
This isn't just a song it's a message to those who are fast asleep in this dysfunctional system/ society. If you're waking up welcome to the fight. You are here for a reason.
This song has heavy matrix vibes, thanks for writing this comment btw
Dame right
Touché
... and Seal is a Magical music creator.
Love the song. Not sure about the reason.
The song, the vocal, the outfit ❤
Сколько лет клипу и песне а с годами только лучше и краше! Одна из любимых! Seal спасибо тебе, что дал миру такие классные пени! ❤️❤️❤️

I am 51 now and this is still perfect.
52 here and you're spot on..... Its a classic.
68 here. Yes love this song. The words are very relatable.
Guy is a genius. Silly old me at 40 dancing around in my room at 5:37am. I think he was on the right track :D
What an amazing human he is,good voice and incredible humble personality, long life to you Seal and all.
I still remember seeing this in the 90's when I was about 10 years old, and remember thinking and believing that Seal was like a wise God who was singing in the heavens.
Well he is singing in heaven
Maybe you're not that off. I think in some faiths, they consider musicians as a sort of divine being with a connection to higher level entities.
hundred percent.
Sounds real to me
@@jamesnencka32 sounds like he dead lol
This is real music. A true gift of a voice. No auto tune here.
I'm 54. I was 21 when this came out. What other age is more appropriate? Why is this "connecting with young people" to listen to.
And no, 54 is not old.
I am 54 this year too!!!
this song has an enveloping rhythm and a vibe that cannot be described in words
E MUITA LINDA MESMO
You can tell you are a reason it conveys such worth, not the crazy part but the complexity to see the beauty!
Salamamca a rhythm meant for the 21 St Century.Done in 1990.
❤
It's calmly futuristic and other worldly ..
Listening now...Bandeirantes, State of Paraná, South Brazil...I've 65 years ...and forever "crazy"

Music from the soul never gets old.
A 34 years old work of art & still popping like it was recorded last night.. This is when analog sound was at its peak.. would give ANYTHING to get that back
Brilliant song. Still sounds fresh today as the day it was released.
Very goog songs
Big old skool tune still sounds fresh

Gd Flo Try you tube:)
Gd Flo I had looked it up on bing.com first then it immediately came up through you tube. Hope this helps:)
Love him
The tune is catchy and beautiful. Such talent. Seal is great.
80's and 90's music was life....
90's will forever be the purest! This is a masterpiece of all times, great environment makes you feel alive!
Perfect Statement, my friend ✌
This song could be released tomorrow and it would still probably be more amazing than anything over the past fifteen years.
Let's do it!
I thought it was quite funny that it was playing as I was strolling through Home Depot in 2023. It's either a timeless piece, or they know their customers are mostly early millennials now.
Facts!
i concur.
It already is better than anything produced over the past fifteen years.
Seal is one of the voices that bring you back to the 90’s ❤
One of the greatest songs ever made. A song for The Angels.
Absolutely love Seal's voice. It's so powerful, gravelly but silky smooth like nectar at the same time.
🙏 amen
it is a God given talent. And yes I do think he is overall great singer. Yes this is one of his better songs
This song will NEVER get old.
WORD !! One of my life soundtrack tunes since I first heard it all the way back to the early 90s (was 8 at the time)
Still love this song in 2019 :)
Sublime Seal
It's a classic
Песня 1991 года.
СУПЕР!!!
From 1991 to 2024 and beyond ♾️
Just saw him in concert a couple nights ago! 60 years old and still going strong! Still has his beautiful voice!! He opened up with this song. If you get the chance to see him in concert I highly recommend it!
Lucky you he has a golden voice
Day be cool
My wife and I saw him last night in Seattle. Can 100% confirm the recommendation. A sincere, moving performance that fits with his career but other stars of his stature might go too slick to achieve.
Saw him again in Vegas! Even a better show than the first!!
He has a fantastic voice😊
The biggest hit of 1992 in Sarajevo city under siege.I listened as a teenager in a shelter during the shelling of the city.Everyone would gather from the building and listen with the help of generators.
Glad to see you survived all that carnage buddy. I remember watching it all on tv. It was horrible to see all that death.
@@tomcat548 Yes, it was horrible. Now everything looks like a nightmare that has passed. The important thing is that it has passed and that it will never happen again. This song reminds me of that, but I still listen to it.Greetings.
Wow.
But we're never gonna survive---unless---we get a little crazy
@@stevencoardvenice That part always hits me...
Got to give SEAL props, this album was with me while a buried my lovely wife and child. I wish I could repay the peace this album gave me.
Richard Cracroft o bless your wife and child , and for you every tear you've cried , past , present , future , has and will be a kiss from your wife n child x x x . Magic , real , song . RITA SIMPKINS

Very sorry for your loss. And yes, this music cries with you and yet lifts you up at the same time. May you find peace.
I'm sorry to hear that
Richard Cracroft wow I'm so sorry to read this. I hope you doing well man, God bless you and hope he gives you all the strength to go on with life.

"In A world full of people there's only some who want to fly, isn't that crazy?!" - Love it!
Yes, and music moment here is perfect.
My favorite lyrics of all time! Glad someone else noticed. Cheers 🍻
In a sky full

Reminds me of the rapture
Seal's voice is simply beyond words. 💖💖💖
This song is absolutely one of the best!
Production is outrageous for the time, sounds so fresh even now.
It's crazy that this hit is more than 30 years...
Definitely in my top 10 favorite songs of all time. I could listen to Seal’s voice all day.
Right? I wanna be his wife and just wake up to this each morning without having to tell Alexa lol
Hard to believe this was released in 1990; it just sounds so far ahead of its time.
In some respects it does listen to Alanis Morissettes version as well v v v good IMO . Now a collaboration would be so so excellent !!!
HandyAndy Tech Tips The song itself is pretty timeless.
Yes! I was only a year old when this was released.
Your right ! Released November 1990
I didn't even realized I didn't exist back then.
Wow.
It is hard to believe that it is 30 years old. Sounds like it came out in 2020. Endless this song
Yeah same I thought this was x before clicking the video
Yeah - brings 1990 right back !
@@amethyst7084 true but the message it conveys lives on in the times we are facing right now.
@@rockstopsthetraffic the fashion looks are catchy and they can be updated.
keep your composure brother. battles are not won with anger. its like a boxing ring you keep cool. let others scream
This song is omnipresent. Timeless. Why aren't music like this still being created? 32 years later and this Masterpiece feels like it's being created in 3099! This piece liberates my mind from the clutches of worldy cares and burdens. Seal is priceless.
Definitely made a piece of art that is beyond time itself...a mastery of the art of making music.
Thanks you tube
And now almost 2022 and still feeling that same vibe as the years before. Timeless
Absolutely
You said a lot brother
Yeah, it stunning how low the bar is for 99% of today’s non-music. Much less vocal and less musician talent, no doubt.
Most folks now seem to use music as a distraction versus a source for passion and immersion.
What a brilliant song and brilliant video.
More relevant than ever. I also like the Tori Kelly cover.
Same here
Seal's music doesn't date, it just gets better with age.
Gibbet Hoskins true
Gibbet Hoskins yesss

That’s cause the quality of music keeps dropping
Wow Seal great i love his voice
CURTINDO EM 2024❤
This is the genius work of Trevor Horn - legend music producer. All amazing including Seal's voice. Timeless indeed and probably always relevant!
This jam makes more sense to me today than when it came out. I'm lucky to have been around that long. Survive and get a little crazy y'all.
It made sense back then too...tough is always tough, always has been, always will be
That part
Well put, my friend
ONLY WAY TO SURVIVE. . ❤️
This song is one of the examples I always point to as to why music saves lives
can you explain more please?
Stop asking “who listens to this in such and such a year”. We will still listen to it in 20 years
Unfortunately that’s the world we live in… a bunch of validation hounds in need of reminding they exist on a daily basis.
That beat, that bass, those synths and guitars, that voice. ♥
Something else 😊
Golden years of music, mtv,etc.80-90 generation knows.
100%! All genres was on top that times... Back in the day music was a soundtrack of our lives, now - its a soundtrack of tik-tok.
25 years later and still great. I was 8 years old when i heard this classic in a radio station in Brazil for the first time.
Thanks Seal...
Bruh this didn't come out 25 years ago lol
Dat nigguh Arthor The song was released in 1991 , man.
BRB
