Nancy, you are always such a pleasure to watch! Not only have I learned SO much from you, but you always make me smile and laugh along the way. I, too get cat fur into everything. The last time I took some jewelry in to the shop I sell at, I had to take home two pieces because a bunch fur was so tightly wrapped under wire that I could not get it out! Some of it I simply burned off, but I actually had to unwrap two small sections and re-do it. Hope no one who buys my stuff has cat allergies!
1:25 lol I've been stuck on my recliner and in bed for almost a year now waiting on colon and back surgery, so I know about wasting time, lol! I'm used to swinging a heavy mallet wood carving everyday, but this pain helped me discover jewelry making and your channel! No heavy lifting or swinging, labor!
I've been wanting to get that book. I just got burned on an engraving book that talked more about the history of engraving than teaching how it is done.I have my pitch and a few punch tools and I've done a few peaces, can't wait till make your own tools video ! Thanks again Nancy.
I love your tutorials! I also wanted to say that hasing hammer head choice of flat or slightly convex can depend on usage. The flat head is great for use as you are doing to hammer a tool that comes in contact with the metal being worked. The convex head works very well when hammering directly on the metal because the curvature prevents marring of the metal. I use the convex head to shape wire without marring it. Thank you for sharing your extraordinary skill and knowledge! I aspire to achieve some notable skill before I am too old to handle the tools. How long have you been doing your craft? I am an old bag with great grandchildren and only just discovered my love for metal working...don't be fooled by my picture!
Looking good Nancy, you look so pretty lady! Remember me? digsart? I don't use that user name anymore due to my website being dropped. I can't wait for part 2!!! I learn so much from you! Thanks luv! ♥ dig ♥
Nancy, I have a question about Fire Bricks. Fire Bricks are very expensive on-line, however, Ace Hardware has Fire Bricks, the ones used inside a fireplace, at 6 for under $20, but they are not that white color. Can these be used, if so, do they need any additional treatment so they can be used for soldering? Would love your help on this. Thanks for the great video tutorials.
Lol! Carbon paper. Yes. Carbon side down. I worked as a word processor years ago. My first job was with an insurance firm. We typed letters for the legal department and we had to make 1 original and 6 copies with carbons. We used an old word processing system that had no auto correction so if we made a mistake we would have to reprint the whole thing. Pain in the ass. I left and went to a law firm where, surprise, they had copiers.
its crazy as I was watching this I was eating lentil chips and low and behold..one of the condiments was cat fur...I have 3 fur babies...be it my work tables or yoga...its everywhere
She is one of my best teachers on RUclips. Thank you for all you do.
