    I would recommend getting a copper scrubbing pad like for dishes to clean the tip of your soldering iron since dipping it in water can ruin the tip and make solder not stick to it at all. It's a cheap alternative to a copper soldering iron tip cleaner but pretty much the same thing.

  • @doug2921

    Thanks for your advice and dedication to the hobby. Couple of quick tips, Clean your iron tip thoroughly apply fresh solder to the tip just prior to soldering and apply a good RMA (rosin mildly activated) flux it does wonders forming the solder bridge that you really need to heat your work quickly. The flux also helps with a perfect solder joint. The initial solder bridge is critical. Also apply your solder to the work not the iron.

      @DY Inc. Hi DY inc. I have always used a 60-40 SN/PB (tin-lead) solder with a 44 activated rosin core. I like using a small diameter solder .02 inch ad a variety of solder tips for different applications. I also prefer Kester solder products. One important thing, don't use the non lead solder. There is also a solder out there that adds a small amount of Antimony but unless you are going cryogenic with your solder that won't be necessary :)

    Great tutorial , I just want to add that the quality of the solder wire is very important . Cheap solder doesn't flow well. Thx

    If you want stronger built, though slightly less efficient motors, consider the Xing-E 2207. 2450KV for normal 4S, 1700KV for normal 6S.
    If you have very good batteries, and won't run props with too high of a pitch, you can (if you find them in stock) use 2750KV for very fast 4S, and 1800KV for very fast 6S.

    NEED HELP! Ive been flying my quad for 4 month now and it worked great until recently. When i do a punch out, the vtx went off. It looses power and cut the fpv feed. But after unplug the battery and reconnecting it, it work again. it just happen when i moved the throttle aggressively. I thought it was that one time only but it just get worse. All I can do now is cruise around since even the slightest fast throttle up causes the vtx to shut down. Is this because of the age of my component and the fact that i had crashed it a lot or just some wiring issue. PLEASE HELP ASAP ( i _ i )

    • @scottmad8563
      @scottmad8563 5 лет назад

      Hey, is the vtx cable soldered or a connector? It seems like when you hit the throttle the vtx losses power, check the postive/negative wires

  • @virginiacamper

    So, I’m using everything you have for this build, with exception of the frame. Everything works great and going good in Betaflight. HOWEVER...BLHeli is not recognizing the ESC. And the strange thing is...it flys great! But, I had to swap wires around with my motors to get them spinning the correct directions. It will spin the motors under BLHeli motor tab, but it’s giving me an error when I try to connect. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @freshcharge
    @freshcharge 5 лет назад

    Bigger iron tip will help when you solder fat wires. You lose less tip heat when touching cold metal, also loading the tip with fresh solder before you touch it to the joint will also allow better heat transfer.

    What do you think about the iflight stack in comparison to the mamba stack

    • @marekfiferna
      @marekfiferna 5 лет назад

      The Succex-E stack is in general a bit more reliable, especially on 6S, but it also costs more.

    • @rorymatheson8583
      @rorymatheson8583 5 лет назад

      @@marekfiferna yea, ive had a amazing expirience with mamba, but recently i spent 3months to get a fresh build in the air, built it up, and turned out i belive the fc is faulty, which has caused me alot of issues, and i saw conveniently this stack is compatible with my vtx

      I think RC cars are much more complicated in building.. However drones are much easier it's just couple components but the software cam be slightly confusing and frustrating and that's where most of the time is spent at first.
