  • Buying a Ferrari 360? Then this is the video to watch. In this depreciation and buying guide of the Ferrari 360, I will show you how much prices changed in the last month and how much the car loses per 1000 miles driven. Furthermore, I show you how all of this compares to the Ferrari F430 and why the 360 might be the Ferrari sweetspot.
    You can contact me at fourwheeltrader@gmail.com if you would like a personalized analysis.
    -There are some sound glitches in the video -
    Many voices in the car community complain that cars have become too digital. Unsurprisingly, demand for cars from the zeroes is high. If you also searching for a car from this period, it is likely that you come across some Ferraris. More specifically the 360 and F430. But which one is the better buy from a value perspective? In this video we will mainly focus on the 360. The F430 depreciation analysis you can find over here: • Ferrari F430 market up...
    The current 360 is very small as there are only 40 cars for sale. Out of these 4, there are 34 automatic cars and only 6 manuals for sale. Hence, all quantitative analysis will be a bit tricky. If we look at the value development for the 360, we can see that prices increases with around 7%. Yet, this increase is not fully statistically confirmed and therefore might be the results. Especially if we look at the market from a mileage perspective, it is difficult to spot a real price increase. However, auctions results from bring a trailer seem to confirm the price increase and also those show a smooth increase.
    When we compare the values of the 360 to the F430 (360 vs F430), we can see that the relative price increase is exactly the same. Probably this is not a coincidence. Things are, however, different when it comes to the depreciation per 1000 miles. Results show that the sensitivity to mileage is a lot lower for the 360 than for the F430. A reason for this might be that the F430 is still a lot newer.
    Note that all the prices are advertised prices.

    I have a F430 Spider with 22K miles that's been in my garage forever... I still love the sound of NA engine, Pinin Farina design doesn't get old looking at it. I love the analog cars and will keep this baby as long as I can where I could add another recent model soon. I have not paid attention to the market price of 360/430 but this information is very useful. I can convince my wife that adding another prancing horse is better than selling mine and trade.. Thank you...

    It really is stretching statistics a little far to come up with these conclusions on such tiny data sets. The issue with both cars and their spider/coupe, manual/F1 variants is that each data point reflects one car, whose value will be greatly influenced by its condition. I've seen a 5000 mile F430 that was a shed and a 30,000 mile 360 that was as it left the factory. The dealer had a higher sticker on the 360 just because of its presentation. There is also the factor of sellers' unrealistic expectations when placing their ads. I'm afraid that after long experience when I see a graph that looks like someone's fired a shotgun at it I don't expect much from any regression analysis and if the trend is then quoted to 4 significant figures I disgard it.

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  3 года назад +2

      The conclusions which are not based on the full data set indeed need to be interpreted with care as the data is limited. I try to make the viewer aware of this by mentioning it several times and also removing the lines from the graphs.

      @@fourwheeltrader The reason we need these videos posted IS because of the small market and limited sales data. That way we can comment and help each other out in the supercar community. The nuances between each spec of the car also make each conversation interesting. I know you stated the total production numbers. It would be awesome to be able to drill down and know how many colors of each car were produced, etc. for US market. Modena vs spider vs manual vs F1. (How many rosso, giallo, nero, pozzi, etc) I am not sure if any accurate prod numbers were ever released?

    the appreciation of potentially collectable cars just tells us that people with money are just fucking out of ideas where else to put their cash. Stocks, real estate, meme coins, ntfs, cars. On the other hand people without money have a hard time finding a decent whatever. Decent space to live foremost. Crazy, just crazy. I mean, what the actual fuck.

      @@thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921 I fear you have unfortunately missed my point. Different tools that provide different experiences that ultimately do the same thing.
      If you’re just looking at numbers on paper and the cost associated then yes. The corvette is objectively “better”, no different than a seiko keeps better time than any of my Rolex’s (and it does a lot of other things auto watches can’t). Unfortunately what you’re missing is the other attributes that are a bit more subjective and harder to quantify. Like how the car makes you feel. How the car looks. How the car sounds. In my experience these measurements that you can’t report in a magazine’s test are far more valuable. I mean heck on paper my Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a dog. You could say Chevrolet was embarrassing Aston Martin owners and we all should sell when I bought mine 12 years ago. But I still own it 12 years later because every time I get in it it makes me feel special, and every time I get out I still turn around to look at it once walking away. No Corvette does that to or for me. It may for others though.
      And while the new Corvette is absolutely capable it doesn’t have near the soul of my 430 Scud. We won’t even start talking about values. If your warning all Ferrari owners that they should sell their Ferraris because there is a capable Corvette, then why has my Scud gone up $40K in value since June. Oh and the new Corvettes been out that entire time....
      Making a blanket statement like people should hurry up and sell because of one car makes you sound ignorant. Many of us have several different cars for different purposes which stimulate different things. And not everybody appreciates the exact same vehicle. Lots of my friends here have supercars and none of them cross shop them with base Corvettes. Now when the Z06 comes out I fully intend on giving it a look.
