The bag is worth it, the droid bounces all around in the box they give you. The bag comes with thick foam to protect the droids and the foam is cut out to perfectly fit the droids inside. The foam holds them in tight and I took it on tower of terror and it’s really stuck in there. The bag also has a nice window so people can see it interact as you walk through the land.
This is great, thanks! I had no idea they offered backpacks to carry the droids. I was going to build both a droid and lightsaber when I was there for my 50th birthday. Galaxy's Edge wasn't open when we went in 2019. We loved it! I was so focused on trying to figure out dinning reservations that i completely forgot about making reservations for the builds. I bought a lightsaber, it was cheaper than the build. I also got a nicer case for it and a longer blade. Since my friends didn't buy lightsabers, and i'm single with no kids, my lightsaber sits in its case in my closet. It got the most use at Christmas when my older brother, all of my nephews, my one neice-in-law and nephew's girlfriend were checking it out. 😂 Maybe I'll bring it to C2E2 one year. Or many I'll dress up and bring it.
I built an R2 droid last year. I had a reservation for right before closing. It was the best choice for time as I didn't have to carry the droid around with me the whole day.
Great video! The price of the bags really surprised me, really expensive for just a bag! Making an appointment towards the end of the day considering you'll have to carry the droid around is a fantastic tip.
Last I was there they gave a small deal for bundling the droid bag and a personality chip when you first purchase the droid so it might help justify the price a bit more
When I built my droid at Disneyland last week, they offered what they called “droid daycare”. A free service where you can leave your droid and come back and get it before the park closes. I did that and it was great, no need to carry it around the park.
Hi Kennedy, thanks for sharing that information. That wasn't offered to us at the time that we built our droids. It's good to hear that's now an option. Thanks for watching and joining the conversation!
I go to galaxy’s edge next January, and I do need tips since I’m only about 4 months away. We are starting to plan things right about now. This was a great inspiration for my younger siblings. They hated Star Wars but now they love it! Thank you so much!
The kids loved this place. Sent me pictures. I respect all the Past achievements and the song writers animators and the great memories they gave me. Loved the goofy series how to. To move forward you have to know where you came from . But the kids loved the droids. God bless Disney.
This is great! Kids were asking if it would be worth it and I came across this video! Thank you for the information! So informative and helpful! Sage travels, cheers!
I actually don't recommend waiting to build at the end of the day. There's a space to drive your droid with other builders, and your droid will interact with other droids in the park. The BB-series does not work as well as R-series. We have 2 BB-units and 2 R2-units at our house and droid battles with BBs suck. It rolls better on carpet but the slightest bump and the head comes off. I highly recommend an R2-series, or a Chopper. DOn't forget to pick up a bunch of emotion chips and accessories.
Hi Michael, yeah I have challenges with my BB droid when we use them. Getting the head in just the right spot so it stays on, plus my antenna is bent. I could go on. We did see other droids out in the area that you mention. That is a very good point, if you'd like to take your droid for a test drive right away, then you'll want to bake in some time to join the other builders and give it a go.
I really like the idea about making a Droid even if it's really expensive and also even building in a lightsaber is also even more expensive that costs $200.
I did the droid combo where I got to build my R unit, a bag for it, and a personality chip for $190. Then looked up on Amazon for the same droid and it was 166 without the bag and chip. I have no regrets and the droid is awesome! I chase my cat with it and he chases the droid, it’s funny as hell! I don’t know, we go to disneyworld once a year, and out of all the expensive things there, it was well worth just buying the droid bundle instead of buying 4 Disney pins to put on a bag pack
Hi Jamie! Thank you for sharing your experience! It's great to hear that you're enjoying the droid bundle. Your cat must be getting a good workout chasing your droid. Thanks for watching!
Hi Alan! I did a double check and according to Plan Disney site, Disney still has not restored the theme park to hotel delivery service. You can rent a locker at the front of the park and store your droid there. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I build my droid a few years ago. It still works great. And long you take the batteries out from your droid every time you use it. It will last for a long time.
Thank you for the reminder to remove the batteries. That is a very good point and I'm going to check ours just in case. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Matthew! I’m glad you found the review helpful. Look into but I believe you can only have two people at one light saber station. The person building and a guest. You’ll likely need to plan to build two. I hope you have fun when you do your build!!
I built mine back in January. Is it worth it…. I think so. Also bought the backpack. However my experience building it was horrible. The cast member seemed to careless what I was doing. They did help finish it with the small bits. My activation ceremony was a joke. The put in the box to activate it, told me “there you go”. Pretty disappointed with the whole process and experience
Hi Michael, I'm sorry to hear that you had a less than stellar experience building your droid. The cast members definitely make the difference in an experience like this. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi, yes I agree it was a very pricey experience. We have not had any issues with quality of the droids. Each time we go to use them, they fire up just like they should. Since we haven't used them that frequently I really don't think that we needed two of them. Thanks for watching!
As fun as it looks, I would say over a hundred and close to two hundred dollars is not worth it. But I’m glad to see people enjoy themselves creating the astromech companions none the less
Hi! Once you’ve secured entry to the park through the pass reservation system you may leave and come back. Depending on the time of year you may not want to leave your droid in the car given how warm it can get. I suspect extreme heat may damage the device. Thanks for commenting!
Its enjoyable for the children but i wouldnt do it more than once. Building the light saber on the other hand was much more immersive and i would do that again no question.
Hi Moebius! I agree completely. The light saber experience does look much more immersive. We’re debating if we will give that one a try. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Will, I'm happy to hear that is an option so that you don't have to walk around with the droid. I wish they still had the service that sends it back to your hotel for you. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi! Yes, I agree. Reservations aren't required and it's great to have one to make sure that you get in if it's a must do. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Azriphale, I don't recall the grey ones. Did those have the 'peep' opening for the droids too? I do think I would have preferred a zip top to the draw string on this bag. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey Evan, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I just double checked the Disney website to be sure. The name of the land is showing as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge®.

Thanks for sharing Ryan, we enjoyed having the window too. It was fun to watch the droids interact with each other and the other droids in the land.
your son must have been so happy
You can also rent lockers near the entrance of the park for about $10-15, depending on size of locker, all day access.
Hi Todd, thanks for sharing and watching.

Man I can't wait to try my hand at Droid Building - I feel like I gotta try it at least once!
We felt it was a must do experience, at least once. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing this in depth video about this experience! Definitely a must do the next time I visit the park. Liked and subbed.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Waiting to do this experience for when/if they bring in the BD droid
Hi Danny, I hope they add the BD Droid to the line up soon. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Disney really goes all out to bring the Chinese Sweat Shop Experience right to you! For the low low price of $120.
Hi KC, thanks for watching and commenting!
All the while they’re being paid about tree fitty per item lmao
@@jybrdls3647exactly overpriced bullshit, but am I gonna buy it, yes
Wow your about as funny as…well nada…go away

great Video! Enjoyed it very much, bc from here to the Studios are too much Miles/Kilometers. THX for showing :)
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Ha! I already know that I'd be vastly more excited that your son, ha! 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
Great video! Do you know if they can deliver the droid to your Disney hotel? Thanks!

Love this review! I wanted to do this with my 3 daughters and now maybe I’ll save up money to just do the light sabers instead
Hi Matthew! I’m glad you found the review helpful. Look into but I believe you can only have two people at one light saber station. The person building and a guest. You’ll likely need to plan to build two. I hope you have fun when you do your build!!
I loved my C-series that I built last year!!!
Glad you enjoyed your droid building experience. Thanks for watching!
I own 6 droids in total. They're awesome. Definitely do this if you'rte at Hollywood Studios.
Agree, it was a lot of fun to build the droids. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the opinion
Hi Fongbrick, thanks for watching!
it seems kind of pricey for myself, but after 3 weeks, do you feel it was still worth it? And how is the droid holding up after this 3 weeks
Hi, yes I agree it was a very pricey experience. We have not had any issues with quality of the droids. Each time we go to use them, they fire up just like they should. Since we haven't used them that frequently I really don't think that we needed two of them. Thanks for watching!
It is so worth it. If i could I'd get 1 of every type of droid
Hi Freddy, it is a lot of fun. Thanks for watching!
and you get a free personality chip along with the backpack if you choose to get the deluxe version which is 175
Hi Will,
That's another good piece of information. Thanks for sharing!
It’s fun but idk if it’s worth it

The bb unit looks like the Hasbro bb8s
Yes it does and it’s much cheaper. Plus it looks like the head stays on. 😃. Thanks for watching!
as a huge kotor fan, I wish you could build a t3
You never know. This is a popular experience they may add it to the line up one day. Thanks for watching!
Wouldn't having a park pass mean that you can leave the park and drop the droid off at the car and come back?

@@familytravelpursuits8318 no problem it’s a lot of fun I got the blue chip
Looks fun but I don't know anyone who could afford these, let alone park admission.
Thanks for watching! We agree the Disney experience can be pricey.
You actually leave it there till you're done walking around and shopping and pick it back up
Hi Will,
I'm happy to hear that is an option so that you don't have to walk around with the droid. I wish they still had the service that sends it back to your hotel for you.

They should make BB-1 droid
Thanks for watching! You never know what they may come up with next.
You dont need a reservation you can just wait in line

Bb-8 I would like the color to be orange or purple and for R2 I would like the color to be orange or black for I can take it home in a backpack okay.
Those sound like cool colors! Thanks for watching and commenting!
BB series all the way.
YES! I do prefer my BB to our son's R. Thanks for watching!
