Yeah, I've actually been returning to this video right before going to bed lately because it has such a soothing effect. :) Muutenkin upee veto kaiken kaikkiaan, sovituksesta soitantaan ja laulantaan.@@lassilogren
Hei, jaahas että Suomesta! Tätä jouhikkoversiota bändisovituksesta tuli kyllä kehiteltyä tovi ennen kun laitoin videon pyörimään. Uitin mm. tietyt aksentit bändiversion kompista jouhikon melodiasoiton kyljeen.
Todella hienosti onnistuttu myös juuri sovituksen puolella. Mielestäni selvästi kokonaisuuden sointuvuus viitoitettu niin että oma korva täyttää aukot.@@lassilogren
Hello @0713mas! Yes, they played different Jouhikko kind of bowed instruments before a modern violin was existed. And music styles have developed by taking influences from different (also older) musical styles. In addition, my jouhikko playing is also influenced by Old Time Fiddle music. So, it’s like a circle :)
Thank you Vandimion85! Seriously, it is never too late to start: You can enjoy playing jouhikko as much as I, even if I have now longer experience. Just buy (or make if you can/want) the instrument and start to practice. There are f.e. FB-groups about building and playing jouhikko/tagelharpa. :)
Thanks @paulwilson! Yeah, I’m using various tunings. I have wrote the tunings on the video discriptions, using the scientific pitch notation octave markings. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_pitch_notation

I repeat myself, but I love your bowing technique, so precise, subtle yet powerful ! Also really nice voice !
Thank you Emelie. 🙏
your playing is very inspiring!
Beautifully played.
Thank you Tagelharpa Lair 🙂
It was just wonderful! I'm in love with sound of this instrument. And your voice...so clear, so soft, beautiful! C:
Thank you @karolinakaminska for your feedback!
The dynamics here are insane! The dry scraping in the quite parts is so pleasant on the ear that it's actually triggering a bit of ASMR.
Thank you for saying that @MikzorTheFirst. The first time I’m hearing about ASMR with my Jouhikko playing.

Love this one! :) This one's one of your best Viena ones, I guess :) and one of Sussu's best solo numbers ever :)
Thank you Yevgeniya! :)
Very, very beautiful. I know the sound of the instrument from the CD but never saw the instrument before.
Hei, thanks Mie Sterckx! 🙂
Wow! It has almost flute-like tones.
You can also, easily hear where traditional and bluegrass fiddle tunes, came from originally.

¡Gracias por tu mensaje!
Sounds like your bow could use a bit more rosin. Doesn't sound like it's quite grabbing the strings.
More rosin is often a good idea 👍
Thanks for your comment @Kavik v. d. Hexenholtz!
@@lassilogren Such humility from a man with some of the greatest jouhikko bow technique on the planet, respect.
