  • A new month means a new Clan to explore, and we are so excited to be delving into the world of Donnachaidh this November. Amy and Lauren will be exploring the bloody and brutal stories that make this Clan what it is today, from the story behind why they are the only Clan left in Scotland that uses their gaelic name to why they moved their Clan seat to the southern side of the Scottish Highlands following the Scottish Wars of Independence. And that’s only scratching the surface! This is an On the Sofa episode you certainly won’t want to miss.

Greetings from Pa. USA. Do you lovely ladies have any information in regards to what I have found as 'Crooked Crannies' dating back to the very beginnings of this clan. I have been sent a picture from a Mr. Robertson living in Scotland showing his 2 fingers(the little one and the one next to that-right hand) which are not only bent but are a match to my fingers. Can you offer any information? I thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello! Thank you for your question - we will have to get back to you after a bit of digging to see if/what we can find out about that. How interesting your fingers are a match to a Mr. Robertson in Scotland!

@@Scotlandshop I appreciate your reply and I sincerely look forward to what information you might find on my inquiry. I will continue to search for more information on my end and will keep you updated. I wish I could attach a picture of both Mr. Robinson's fingers and mine. If not for a ring on Mr. Robertson's finger...you would see very little difference between his and mine. Wishing you the best!

Hi John, apologies for the delay getting back to you - we didn't forget about your question! After a bit of digging we came across this report, on page 12 there is a short bit about "crookit crannies": 1stdirectory.co.uk/_assets/files_comp/b80147e3-ae9a-43c4-957a-20bafce621e7.pdf
It is possibly a Robertson trait! Perhaps the Robertson society can help you further, they will have more knowledge we think: www.donnachaidh.com/
Good luck and keep us posted if you find out anything!
