Celebration finale 2024

Earlier this month Celebration, our annual festival which showcases the diverse music being made by young people across Suffolk, took place in the Snape Maltings Concert Hall. Now in it’s 36th year, Celebration welcomed 40 groups comprised of primary, secondary and SEND schools and community groups, covering the entire reach of Suffolk and totalling 1200 performers.
This year saw an incredibly varied selection of music being performed by the young people involved, ranging from School of Rock to a movement of Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony.
Each evening culminated in a massed group performance of “We Are Here” by composer Jessie Maryon Davies. This piece was co-created with 6 schools and community groups, who all performed during the Celebration week and were able to see their creation come to life.
