Marcus Rock: "Primarily through the usage of orchestration, timbre and register, this piece consciously attempts to translate various ‘tulpa’/thought-forms into acoustic sound images. ‘Tulpa’ can be considered to be sensory phenomena experienced internally, by way of imagination (audiation or ideation), things we see or hear which are not physical or ‘real’. The tulpa’s interactions with themselves and each other constitute the musical material in and of itself, as the perspective transitions between that of one encountering them first hand, the inner characters/ nature of the tulpa themselves, and a quasi-narrative commentary."
