- Today we're taking a look at a 2024 Corolla LE. This is a full carry over from the 2023 Corolla LE. The only change is the $200 increase in base price. This is a great starter car if you're looking for a small sedan that gets great fuel economy with the latest safety features.

The thing is the basic trim is all that I need ! AC , new engine , nice cloth seats , Apple car play ,backup camera. This is perfect and it’s good on gas ! This car is winning
Agreed, except I hate the cheap plastic infotainment screen. It looks like a kids toy and it's always there, always on, like scratching on a chalkboard. It would be great if the base model had a sunroof option too.
And, it'll be a very reliable car.
@@davidhunternyc1It does have a sunroof option. It comes with the Premium package. Gotta do more research to learn all that's offered in a car.
@@davidhunternyc1Never understood the appeal of sunroofs... I've had two vehicle that had them, and never used them.
Perfect no nonsense car.
It's basic and that is what makes it great, less equipment less things to go wrong.
A basic Corolla is a trusty friend that drives for decades problem free. You can buy car seat covers, a steering wheel cover, etc and express your personal style.
Just took possession of a ‘24 Corolla LE and have to say I do not find anything about it “boring.” But this is me. I actually like the simplicity of the interior-It almost has a Scandinavian aesthetic. Well executed, Toyota!
@CoolCars1-jl7rh No pay sticker price and no get car.
Appreciate this video, great overview. But, I suggest maybe using a different word than "boring" which is used quite a lot throughout. It's an entry level model, and a LOT of car for the money... so I might suggest, "plain" or "basic" or "unadorned" or "standard" in place of "boring".
Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind when making future videos
the corolla is a great, boring car
I think that it's a nice car . People who review , have lost track that most people want a reliable nice car , with a good ride . Most people would probably prefer not to commute in a rough riding sports car .
Yes! I agree..I just finished watching this video...and he was using the word "boring" a lot! He didn't sound to enthusiastic 😂
@@KrowickiTo add on to the previous comment, what even is a boring car? Frills don't make a good car. Comfort, safety, and reliability makes a good car.
Please identify the core capabilities that make a good car. Everything else is a bonus.
But, thank you for the complete review. It helped me a lot!
The LE is the lowest trim level in the US Market.
I wouldn't expect chrome trim or a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
But stop calling everything "Boring".
If it's not up to your level of status, don't review it.
My girlfriend bought one of these today. Hope she likes it. I recommended this car in part due to the posts from Scotty Kilmer.
I'm getting this car ! This color or metallic silver! Or white! Amen!
I still have my 2016 Toyota Corolla. I've yet had to put majority work in on it. If you take care of your Toyota, it will take care of you.
An impressively thorough walkaround, thanks.
bought one in 2020 with the 1.8L engine for $18,000. Did 65,000+ miles in 3 years and the only service was a $19 oil change once, thats it. Traded it in this year for a corolla cross and dealer gave it a value of $14,000. Great car. service is cheap and basically no maintenance required if you trade them in 4 years and get a new one.
Looks and seems to have almost the exact same features as my 2021 Corolla LE. Thinking of just buying the lease out on it since it has been such a great car to me.
Android Auto / Apple Carplay are now wireless, is the big change I think😊
Starting 2023 All corollas, (including the LE) have the larger 2.0 engine with ~169hp.
Before 2023, the LE, XLEs have the 1.8L ~138hp, 1.8L engine..
So, a 2023 and later LE is equivalent to a 2021 SE..(enginewise)
So your 2021 LE is a completely different car than the 2023/2024 LE…
Same but they took away the sunroof and lights on the drop down mirror. Those two little things mean a lot to me lol
Best review I have seen, Thank You.
Perfect review. Considering this for my next daily.. thanks for this
I pick up mine Thursday!
Very honest and precise review good job 👍🖐
Looking to replace my 1998 Corolla, this 2024 model, even the LE with just the bare minimum looks like a space shuttle compared to my current car. Electric powered windows? ABS? Central lock? Change lane warning? Infotainment screen? Even the LE is more than plenty for me and even of it lasts for 13 years (compared to 26 my current Corolla lasted) I will be more that happy! And it's a classic sedan, no SUVs as I like to drive cars and no trucks. Greets from Greece!
People like us who buy these cars like using our money for anything but our cars because they're tanks! Enjoy your Corolla if you got it!
Always look forward to your reviews and this latest one does not disappoint! That Convenience package offers tremendous value for what you pay for it. Love that gorgeous Celestite color too!
Glad you like them, thanks for watching!
The center screen is in my way...Its like a blind spot for short people
Needs a seat belt adjuster for us short people, too. Hate to have to keep pulling it off of my neck.
Very awesome when we get me through a drivers ed course/school later this year I will be saving up for this bad boy. :)
I dont know why I always love the basic trim of toyota product. It might seem less fancy, less sporty and less feature as well but the car just looks so natural and modest
Tip for your reviews. Stay away from negative descriptive words like "just boring plastic" etc. Just state what it is...plastic trim or standard or basic plastic trim etc. Don't inject your opinion into the review and just talk about the vehicle. We are in the market to help our daughter with her 1st car and I wanted to share a video review of the car, but I don't feel comfortable sending this type of review to them because of all of the negative descriptive words used. Check out this guy's review and note how he does his reviews. That is what I sent to them for review. It's basically a neutral review of the vehicle. ruclips.net/video/djOE9qZyAoY/видео.html Just wanted to share a little critique of the review. But, it's up to you to take it or leave it.
My co-worker just bought one but the hybrid version in gray, replacing his old 2012 Scion IQ. My very first car I bought was a 2006 Corolla S that I bought new back in the day fully loaded. I would for sure have to go with the XLE if I bought this gen Corolla just for the heated seats. My next car will more than likely be a hybrid ether a Toyota or Lexus as I've driven a couple of them (a Lexus ES & UX) & for sure preferred them over the gas versions. Toyota still does hybrids better than anyone else. I've purchased mostly Toyota/Lexus vehicles over the years all very reliable as expected.
What is brake mode on the transmission??
Just got mine yesterday. let go of my tacoma an settled for a more realistic approach in life. the best option for me at the moment.
What year was your Tacoma ? Did you trade in ? Do you miss your truck
I'd probably upgrade to the SE, but it's pretty nice with the convenience package. It's kind of a bummer that the LE doesn't get soft touch material on the door cards.
I got black. Main issue for is the lcd radio doesn't allow you to watch video or cast your screen.
As a delivery driver I have down time and would love to cast my screen instead of bringing my tablet or laptop.
I could purchase this one,and get the convince package built in to make it a push start,or get a hatchback SE I’m debating I want it built in from the start.
@Krowicki - Can Prius LTD 19” wheels be swapped out for Corolla 16” alloy wheels?
I agree boring used far too much it’s a nice car entry level is still nice. I enjoy my vehicle no I didn’t want the extras which cost far too much . I did add a automatic starter.
I love my 2017 XSE. Best car I've owned.
Does the Corolla have the Stop Start feature?
Great overview of the Corolla! I test drove this car yesterday. Good basic car with everything you need and great reliability and fuel efficiency. My only gripe is that I like to use the center console as an armrest for comfortability in my current 2018 civic and this car’s console is too small for me to do that. It really decreases my comfort in the car and a large part of why I probably won’t purchase it.
Also, why so many bottle holders? I need a long enough cubby to stow my summertime window shade for easy access. Looks like I'll have to keep it in the trunk.
nice love this car but i like the dark grey
Thanks
remote start?
Thank you! Too bad no changes from 2023.
YEAH 500 LETS GO WOO😂🎉
My only complaint about this car is the main operational display in front of the steering is small & the information is hard to read. Some of that information like outside temp, etc would be best displayed on the media, which is actually way bigger than it needs to be.
I just ran an inventory search on the Toyota website for a Corolla just like the one featured in this video (LE trim with Convenience package). In my area (Austin TX) there are zero available within 500 miles. This is ridiculous.
That's when you just got to factory order one if you really want it and wait the couple of months for them to build it for you :)
might wanna check out san antonio or laredo
? Does the trunk cargo area have a light...
No
Wish they didn't have the CVT though. In an alternate universe somewhere, automakers are still making them with 5 speed automatic transmissions.
Hola amigo sabes cómo puedo desactivar el modo. Eco de ese vehículo gracias
Sir, Maybe you should look at a thaho, surberban or any of those big cars. Jajajaa.
Sounds like better to just own a 2020-2023 if you already own those until the next generation comes out soon , dont see any point to switch to this one from my 2020.
Yes and this 2023 is more of a downgrade compared to 2020 to 2022. The analog gauges in this one are of a step down and also torsion beam rear suspension on 2023 and upwards. The 2020 to 2022 have the independent rear suspension setup. Even if the next generation comes out me personally I will still keep my 2020 . I only have 25k miles as I type this comment.
@@alvinsimba734 mine has 101k and it was originally a rental car. And runs so good. Toyota reliability and these can last 300k maybe. Also the front of the LE looks more basic now on the 23-24. but that front facia materials at least wont break easy like the 2020-2022 ones .
@@solidwisdom8749 true and the analog on the 2023 and upwards is kinda on cheap side whereas the 2020 to 2022 looks cooler. Got my 2020 as a demo back in 2020 with about 1200 miles on it
same 2023
What happened to the Key start for the LE after the 2023 model year?
LE still has a flip key, but this has the convenience package. This is said in the video multiple times.
@@MattCC16Gaming But the LE and SE had push button start instead of a key start
@@earlontayjenkins3164 not sure what you mean. 2020-2022 LE and SE trims had a flip key, but you could option on the smart key and push button start with a package. For 2023 (and now 2024), SE has smart key and push button start standard. LE trim is the only trim to currently have flip key, but again, you can option on smart key with push button start with the convenience package like the car in the video. This is for the US market.
@@MattCC16Gamingin Canada it’s the flip key for the LE trim. Smart key is optional
@@alvinsimba734 yep, same in the US
Time to replace the 2006 with this. Simple is hard to break and that’s why I will take this over the hybrid. If it snows really bad, I take the Subaru or snow mobile
Does this car have rear vents
No
No LE has Convenience package in Texas, Sad.
are you in dallas too? I'm also looking for an LE with convenience package
Very rare! Only saw one nearby, after Ive got my SE with no BS/RCTA. Its ok, just wish Ive had more options…
anthony jongwoo lee? the canadian korean?
Do it have a USB-A port ??
Yes at the front right by the glove box
No. The front is a C port.
I hate the cheap plastic infotainment screen protruding from of the dash.
I don't think it has push button start
U have to go for upgrade in LE
8” touch screen looks ridiculous 👎
This is a good car, though I am disappointed on how *cheap* it feels. But I’m glad it has all the safety features.
I may shell out the extra $1500 for the push start / Auto Unlock / blind spot
Crazy this is all you get for the price. So many other brands have nice optioned trims at this price level, assuming you even find one at MSRP. Toyota over pricing because of good reputation is bad, especially after the giant failure of generational updates they did to their trucks. We live in 2024 where almost all the compact series cars are plenty reliable. Most companies are focusing on making affordable cars nice, it really is a shame to see a once great company going backwards and making affordable cars less affordable, and regressing if anything.
Adding on, as a third party mechanic I have driven just about all of the compact cars. Corollas drive like crap, and feel like crap compared to most of their competitors. These cars drive just as bad as Nissan versas, a car that's thousands less with better features. It pisses me off because I love Toyota but they've trashed their truck series and I see the same business decisions trickling down to their economy options.
Price too high bro
Oh i hate shiny gloss screen, very unnecessary and dangerous its too reflective and distracting
LE = LIMITED EDITION
Last Forever
If that is a 2024 TC LE model, what was Toyota thinking? Give me the impression of Corollas from the mid 1990s.
The exterior & interior look cheap & not attractive at all.
Obnoxious screen!😢
Love the rest😊
We just put a deposit down today on a 2024 Corolla in Celestite blue, expecting delivery in June.
I don't like the exterior styling on this - rather own a sportier looking restyle like in this vid of a 2 door 2024 Corolla concept car:
ruclips.net/video/LrHe_EdYyrg/видео.html
So it's basically the same car as my 2020 LE... not worth the upgrade from what i see
Bigger motor 2.0l 169hp
@dathuynh1767 still not worth it lol
@@reyalez2549 10:4
Me down grading from toyota camry to this corolla...Global warming is real😢
Over priced BS extras. If you don't get at least $1,600 off the sticker WITHOUT a trade in you're paying too much. Also don't let the dealer do your TTL. Do it yourself at the DMV and save good money.
Very basic for a 2024….
Keyless entry is the most useless feature... Its Only a feature in its true sense to reviewers and Car theifs...LOL
Overall bad looking outside inside.
Boring 😴
I enjoy reviews of regular cars . When I was young I was blown away by reviews of high end cars , that I would never be able to afford . That was long ago , and I like a mix .
@@jackfishcampbell6745 I can't even afford this boring car
@@hunter6719 Yeah I get it my wife and I have a 19 KIA Niro . We bought it new , but it's the first new car in my life .
My Toyota app is disconnects everytime I get in it. I switched over to android auto, but than I can't change radio stations. Looks like to me the only way to change music channels is by using the toyota app. It's annoying to keep getting it to connect. Went to dealership, they got it to connect again. Lasted one day.
But is it boring?
I’m surprised the b didn’t stand for boring 🥱 according to this gentleman. Either way I love this car :)
