    Mam, very thoughtful of you to post these videos, I am following all your videos..Very helpful for an intermediate level pianist like my son. He listens to your interpretations of the pieces and he has scored distinction. Many thanks.

    Hi @jillmortonpianist, this is Luis Dias from Goa India. I knew you and Claire from my time at the CCO under Alan Hazeldine. Happened to look at Grade 6 pieces as my 13 year old is studying them, and was delighted to find you playing them!

      Oh my goodness! Great to hear from you. I loved working with Alan, I always knew he would keep the orchestra with me 100%, always a joy to make music together! I hope your daughter is enjoying her studies, let me know how she gets on 😃

    Hi @jillmortonpianist, just a technical question: for Terminal 2 (Grade 6), how does one achieve the waltz-like lighter second and third beats in the left hand while still keeping the pedal down? Or should one take the pedal off a little for beats two and three? Thanks

    Could you clarify how to pedal for ‘Ivan Is Very Busy’? It’s such a fun piece, but I just can’t get the pedalling right.

    • @jillmortonpianist
      @jillmortonpianist  Год назад

      You don't need much pedal in this piece at all, just follow exactly what it says in the score and it works well. Good luck!

    How long will take time to learn one peace?

    • @jillmortonpianist
      @jillmortonpianist  3 месяца назад

      That will be different for every pianist. It would depend on how much guidance you have, how much time to can dedicate to learning it and if you have good practice techniques.

    • @jillmortonpianist
      @jillmortonpianist  Год назад

      So sorry, I've only just seen this. You probably don't even need to know any more but you need to be really careful with the pedalling in this one. The first 16 bars need lots of light touches with lots of changes so the music doesn't get blurred. From there, it's probably changing on beats one and 3 mostly but you'll need to listen very carefully all the time as it may need more. It will very much depend on the piano you're playing and the room you're in too. Hope that helps.
