@@AK.__ not to get into an argument because I can see both sides and I’m not ready to die on either hill, but I think it was a wagon for several reasons, firstly I believe that configuration was listed as a “wagon” in the manual and other official Subaru info. My insurance listed it as a station wagon (which actually got me amazing rates for it being a notoriously commonly wrecked sports car), I believe due to there being windows on the sides behind the rear doors (I.e. they are fixed over the cargo area). Also when shopping for aftermarket parts for that car, the options were always sedan or 5-door wagon, never hatchback. I think some people also define any 5-door car as a wagon, but I don’t buy that, I think it has more to do with the windows. As you said I’m sure length plays a factor, but I don’t think there’s an exact official cutoff between hatch and wagon? I’ll undo my whole argument right here and say I always called it a hatchback because I knew people thought wagons were lame lol
I loved my Subaru wagon. 5 speed Outback was a great ride. The only cool SUVs are old school truck based ones like the 89 Bronco I use to own. So much more badass than new SUVs. They were actually really good off road.

My 07' Cooper S my dad gave me was basically a heap with major problems and thousands of dollars in body damage. It's getting better and I'm finally able to enjoy it for the most part. It's still got issues (why its in the shop again since they messed it up...) and I'm slowly picking at them to finally clear my dash of lights. But god the only thing I've gotten about my car is that it's trash therefore I'm trash which is genuinely hilarious since I'm in rural Georgia. I own a FIAT 500 and I absolutely love it. I think it is quit a shame that people say this “girly car thing” because everyone who does that, has never driven this car. I've owned 2 Mini Coopers (the first gen BMW ones) but 9 times out of 10 you'd see them being driven by people who either just passed or clearly had no idea how they even got onto the road in the first place, same goes for the 500.

@@1pyroace1 yea it has proven a trooper. Ive had a couple of failure points but they where logical and easy to understand. Its not so much reliable as it is easy to diagnose and fix. And its not like it breaks down every 16000 km / rougly 10000 miles.

I drove a yukon borrowed from my mom for a bit, I loved that thing. Not because it was good but because I used that thing like a farmtruck. I jumped it drifted it (sorta) hauled in it. It was fun to rag on. Now my dad uses it as a beater farm truck cause it gets slightly better Mileage than his 2500 hd.
Been riding around in an 80s wagon nearly my whole life and had it given to me to drive. I take pride in owning and driving that near 5000lb hunk of steel.

My mother drives a Mustang. It's a 4-cylinder EcoBoost. I call it the "EgoBoost". She literally just has it because she doesn't want to admit she's getting older. It was a mid-to-late life crisis. And yes, like every Mustang driver, she's absolutely horrible at it. Texting constantly, using a knee to drive, and absolutely *blasting* horrible Christian rock the whole time. And no, she has no clue how the car even works. I pity that thing.
Feel like some can be different per region too. You would be surprised how many subarus (especially outbacks) are in Salt Late, UT tho. There are a lot of crossover SUVs with AWD nowadays. Still based off the FWD transverse 4 cyl engine though.

Most of these are about me! LOL I have an 07 Legacy wagon and an 01 Mustang (which I built for autocross instead of drag racing). Both are incredibly fun to blast on the mountain roads of north GA. (Bladed- hit me up if youre up near Blue Ridge) lol

I absolutely love wagons bro, they are awesome and look some much better than SUVs! Growing up, my family only ever had wagons and they were so great. The coolest one at to be the manual Subaru Liberty wagon, it sounded great, was low to the ground and was just awesome!
I live in Seattle and I can say both subie stereotypes are true. You can find ascent-driving, CVT loving dads and SVX driving 19 year-olds on the same block.

I drove a yukon borrowed from my mom for a bit, I loved that thing. Not because it was good but because I used that thing like a farmtruck. I jumped it drifted it (sorta) hauled in it. It was fun to rag on. Now my dad uses it as a beater farm truck cause it gets slightly better

Also, here in Italy Fiat 500 are owned by literally anyone. From the buisnessman who bought a small car to drive in cities and to park easier, to joung people in general, to teachers and then grandmas. It's one of the best selling cars in Italy (even though there are more 500x crossover things but anyway).

Everytime someone talks about Wagons, I remember Top Car TV's story about when his brother he used to go full Astolfo mode with women in the bed of his Volvo Brick, and there was also the Volvo 850R wagon that raced on BTCC, even if it didnt made success racing, it was a success among the fans so yeah, Wagons are pretty much the coolest type of car today, and I wish I could buy one, but I wont need in the future

I call it the "EgoBoost". She literally just has it because she doesn't want to admit she's getting older. It was a mid-to-late life crisis.
And yes, like every Mustang driver, she's absolutely horrible at it. Texting constantly, using a knee to drive, and absolutely *blasting* horrible Christian rock the whole time. And no, she has no clue how the car even works. I pity that thing.
Feel like some can be different per region too. You would be surprised how many subarus (especially outbacks) are in Salt Late, UT tho. You know, the mountainous, rocky city where a bunch of national parks are and hiking and camping take place…. Like 1/20 cars are be subies to the point that it was overwhelming

If you ever go to a fiat meet, you’ll run in to some very passionate people who own fiat 500s. People who really care about their 500s and the history behind them. It’s truly unfortunate so many 500 owners got the car because it’s easy to park, then don’t take care of it properly.
