    Years ago most of these wrecks would be considered hopeless but with all of the new and ever improving restoration techniques available today many of these cars you see here could be brought back to life.

    1976, were were there, saw a small rat terrier laying by the door, I asked Jack who he belongs to, he said, he's a junkyard dog, take him if you want him. That dog became my uncle's TOP pet, had his own place at their table, little Buster was smart, he and uncle Axel died about the same time, the best present he got from us, thanks Jack for making an old guy really happy, little Buster had a great home.

    Old gems.Kansas cars are notorious for having under carriage rust. My father was stationed in fort Riley, next to junction city. 1978.

    When I see so many rusted 1930's abandoned cars like this out in an overgrown field for all those years they start to look "haunted".

    Anybody realize the historical value of this place to the auto industry? Never have I seen this many cars of the early era's in one place, The condition of the metal is insane. The T's and A models, there are whole bodies w very little damage (metal wise). The amount of 30's, 36/7/8s is amazing. Here on the east coast, cars in salvage yards are rusted through in 7-10 yrs. these cars are 100 yrs old, think of that. restoration grade metal, 100 yrs old and sitting dormant for how long, many I'm sure since before the muscle car era, and before the "car craze" was even a thing. This place needs an infusion of money or people who care to help at least arrange these gems so that they can be documented and photographed. They are gone elswhere, Amazing! TY for the vid.

    Incredible to think that so many cars of such age are still hanging on in there around the USA. Most UK yards were cleared years ago and now there is a scrap drive on too.

    Some good projects or hot rods there for the right people.
    With the model A & T,s the steel was good quality hence they do not rust like others,
    you probably enough to build a complete model A or model T.

    Breaks my heart. The guy goes to the trouble of collecting these wonderful old cars then lets the trees grow up in the middle of them and tosses bunches of them in piles. Too much to ask to set them in rows and keep the vegetation in check, I guess. Oh well. Not my lookout that so much great iron is disolving into the ground.

    • @mk5455
      @mk5455 8 лет назад +1

      +Charles Sumner You know, when I first discovered Easy Jack's it was 42 years ago and every thing was in rows. I was in the Army @ Fort Riley and we'd walk through there for something to do on the week end. Rows of Crown Victoria's, row of Hard top and rag top convertibles, row of Cadillac's, another of old trucks, Hearse's. There was even a Model T on top of some building or barn out there. Just west of Junction City KS. Looks like Easy Jack's kin let it go to hell. Saw a pic of two that run it now. My guess, the dude with scraggly long hair is sadly, the proprietor now.

    Will the owner of this wonderful "junkyard" (it isn't junk to me!) sell entire cars, or parts, or is he one of those guys who just lets all of these parts just rot away and won't sell anything? I would love to restore many of the cars in this video, but would be happy with just one pre-1965 anything... Maybe one of those Cadillac hearses? Awesome video - thanks for posting it!

      Brad Beall I went there a couple summers ago. I called in advance and made sure he was going to be there. Everything's for sale. I met a local guy and he said his prices depends how he feels that day. Don't expect much. Cause a lot of the cars are gone from this video. Where long sleeves or go in the fall. Ticks are bad out there.

      Truer words have never been spoken, armchair hot rodders are all talk and the delusions of grandeur are funny as he'll. Ive also seen really nice complete cars COMPLETELY dissassembled that have never gotten on the road again then parts get sold off and the carcass is dumped at the pick a part. seen it countless times . I've dug thrue TONS of dirt, rat shit AND animal carcasses cleaning out old cars the worst was a 58 Cadillac hearse ....it was pretty disgusting I did get it running and driving with a 63 caddy 390 engine but WOW what a horrible mess, mumified dead cat and all ....if you can't deal with that, this hobby ain't for you. the sad part is some really nice stuff gets massively overpriced for the die hard builder that has to pay a fortune for a wreck that has to be completely rebuilt .....( but I won't stop ) tee hee😎
