@@jimmyolsen5897 There are still stars, but in a sense it’s like going back in time, before TV, movies and radio, when “stars” were either local or traveling performers. They played to a much smaller audience, as today. The old “big 3” TV networks are not nearly as big these days. There’s a million options now, so none of today’s TV stars are as universally known as those of the last few generations, and perhaps none of them ever will be that well-known again. It was like that in the 19th century. The biggest stars appeared only on a physical stage, before a live audience, so they weren’t well known to everyone in the way, say, Lucy and Ricky were in the 1950s. That was a great ad campaign. One of my favorites was with former hockey stars "Boom Boom" Geoffrion and Jacques Plante. It was entirely in French except for one line. Exasperated during their "Moins rassasiante! - Gout magnifique!" debate, Plante exclaims, "Do you BELIEVE this guy!?" 😂😂 Even the ending coda was in French. "Lite Bière de Miller. Tout ce que vous voudriez d'une bière. Et moins."
I LOVE RODNEY! Miss him SO much! This was awesome, yes, I remember it as a young teen, still at home. You can see the genius level inspiration for Caddyshack here! And, in my life, that was Mr. O'Donoghue at the resort where I ran service calls for GE many decades ago, and he inspired me as well. RIP and salute to a great generation!
You could take one of these celeb filled commercials and turn it into a trivia question. “How many celebrities can you name?” Whether or not they spoke any lines.
I'd have to watch it again and take notes!, but just from memory: John Madden, Red Auerbach, Mickey Spillane (with Lee Meredith), Bubba Smith, Dick Butkus, Bert Jones, LC Greenwood, Steve Mizerak, Tommy Heinsohn, Billy Martin, Ben Davidson, Bob Eucker, Marv Throneberry & of course Rodney.
I remembered Bubba Smith quit doing these after he spoke at various elementary schools and the kids were yelling the slogans, because it was a bad influence on them.
They don't make commercials anywhere NEAR as good as this anymore.
Word
Ain’t that the truth 👍🏻
Too many woketards to offend.
You ain’t just whistling Dixie!!
Look what happened to Bud Light with their advertising for their gay beer!!!!

Miss Rodney so much. It’s great he became a big star into his 60s. Nobody could deliver a punch line like him and Don Rickles. They were the best
That was one awesome commercial 😅👍
Here Before 1776 Thumbs Up^^
Did you notice that nearly all of them, if not ALL, are deceased???
@@kolasom Yep

Rest in peace Rodney. You are the best
Those were the days! What a tremendous amount of talent!
I remember that commercial.😂 You know what it would cost, to get that many big stars in one commercial today ? Lol
There aren’t that many stars out there today
@@jimmyolsen5897 Definitely not like those anyway.
@@jimmyolsen5897 And that varied a group of talent

my old man loves those commercials
Many great faces from a great era .
I miss those good old days!
What an awesome commercial!! I love that they saved the best for last! Even in that group of celebs, Rodney is definitely the standout!
I loved these commercials! I was a very early teen when these were aired.
me too..
Rodney Dangerfield is simply the best!!! 😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🙂
So correct Christopher!
Good damn, this commercial had it all!
I miss the Miller commercials.
“What a crowd! What a crowd!” 😂😂😂
Rodney simply was the greatest!! Drop 🎤
From a time when THINGS STILL MADE SENSE!!
Comedy Gold Rodney, Robin Williams + most the cast from police academy
You gotta love Rodney😂😂😂😂
When we were in our teens, my friends and I used to drink whichever beer our dad drank. After these commercials, we switched to Lite.
So, whose dad drank lite? Lol
When you're a teen, you drink whatever is available
Great commercial!
I'm reminded of the one with Gordie Howe. I guy asks for the check. Howe smiles then "checks' him into the bar!!
Let's face it....they don't make commercials like that any longer. "Stars" today are too good to do anything like that.
That was great back when all the beer commercials were funny they were all competing against each other

"I won't be long girls, hold my calls ok" 👌
All we need is one more pin Rodney!
"Piece of cake, guys"!
Still awesome after all these years! ❤ 👍 😊
Damn that was high tower from police academy. Awesome.
I feel the excitement from madden at the end really makes this commercial

Now that is an awesome tag line.
Back when I looked forward to commercials.
Miller Lite was a stable in our household and we still drink it today.
Well it's a lot better than the latest Bud light promo can.
And now you know where Adam got the idea for "Happy Gilmore".
These commcercials are priceless! ❤
I live in Australia and this is my first time seeing that commercial ever i love it
He was the center of attention.
CLASSIC COMMERCIAL AND PEOPLE🥳
Many of the classic dudes in there -- LOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG commercial!
The GOAT
the commercial that sold a million bottles
Great tagline: "Everything you always wanted in a beer. And, less"
You just can't beat Madden calling the play while Rodney makes his funny faces. So glad to have been alive when this was a commercial on TV.
Back when commercials were actually funny.
Classic. Man, where has good TV gone?
That's great. Not one time did I think how annoying this is and wish it was over. Forgot commercials could be like that.
Pay attention beer companies this is what men want to see !!
We'll NEVER see anything like this again.
Rodney was the best 👍👍
And he always will be! He's THE PATRON SAINT OF COMEDY!
*What a great commercial! How many stars can you name?*
I forgot about this commercial. John Madden and Rodney! And many others… all that talent
Everything you always wanted in a beer, plus Rodney Dangerfield.
That brings back memories
Takes me back to when I was a kid. Anyone know what year that was? Early 1980’s maybe? Before or after Caddy Shack came out?
Caddyshack came out in 1980. This was after that.
@@fredericriter4146 that’s what was thinking after I submitted the comment. lol. Prolly was in the early 80’s then.
I believe this was filmed in 1981
"Hey ya go kid, park my car, take my bags, and here, put on some weight ok. Hey Wang what's with the pictures, it's a parking lot, come on will ya" 👌
Get a free bowl of soup with a hat like Rodney's wearing.
Best commercials ever
Want to see ads like this on superbowl Sunday
Those days are long gone.
I miss Rodney.
Uecker hits it from under water 😅. Oh Micky!
Love it
Thanks for giving away the ending to Happy Gilmore! lol
Oh please BRING THESE BACK. Remaster them, and get the country ready for a new generation or two! But keep these playing.
I cracked up with the beer order, 1,2,3,4 & they all ducked.
Maybe you allready know but Fore is an expression of watch out or duck so you dont get hit.
CLASSIC!!!
Now that’s a beer commercial!!!!
I wonder why they don't re-air some of these during the Super Bowl?
Some real star power there.
Now that is a beer commercial.
It would be greate to get this shorts with subtitles in small font in the bottom corner.
Rodney is the greatest ever
I remeber the commercials, but i never saw this one.😅
Ahh childhood memories
Back when commercials were actually funny
Rodney Dangerfield, golfing legend.
That was back when nobody got easily offended. Miss those days…..
Those were better times for sure 😊
NICE!
Good Stuff.
It's sadly appropriate that almost none of these comments mentions Bob "I must be in the front row" Uecker.
FUNNY 🤣!!!

Rodney's shot was Happy Gilmore before Happy Gilmore!
Was this a tie-in for 'Caddyshack' perhaps?
