Need some more cavalry in your life? These 3d printable Normans can serve in historical or fantasy wargaming. Join me as I paint them as Riders of Rohan.
They look good, nice work. btw - I only found this out a few months ago, but Elmer's isn't PVA. It's probably flour and water school-safe glue. I was using it and finding that basing material was rubbing off too easily. When I did a couple of recent commissions of 20mm plastic minis, I was using the Elmer's glue to stick them onto popsicle sticks. They just kept falling off. I looked into it and found it wasn't PVA. :( Might not be so bad if you're mixing it with grout, but if you're finding in other places it's not sticking very well, it's not you. :) hehe
oh no! I just wanted to see how you painted the base between the strips :( I guess its pretty easy to get in between then? when I normally do bases for 28mm you can paint and drybrush the base pretty easy, but with the strips of 10mm soldiers, it seems really difficult to get in between the strips to paint and drybrush actually. Are there any hacks?
For base color, I start with a light brown/tan, then apply a homemade dark brown wash. I might do a little bit of drybrushing around the edges if I need to lighten it a bit, but the space between the figures is barely going to be seen, and would be shadowed anyway, so it can stay a bit darker. If you throw some flock or grass on top of that, it's even less visible.
we are doing Fantastic Battles in 10mm too! Thanks so much for this, excellent info and fun delivery.
More 10mm please for Warmaster / Fantastic battles.
Any chance of doing a tutorial on 15mm Knights Templar ?. Love your channel and painting is always awesome. Cheers. Stevie
coif was the word, looking at the end result they'll be great on the table
Did you use a static grass applicator for these? The grass looks so good
