  • I was asked recently to talk a little more about the way I light my Cameo layouts, so here it is, you asked for it, you got it. Take a look at other videos in my channel to see the finished cameo layouts in operation.

Another great video. Very inspiring, especially as I've just moved into a new 'office' in my cellar... And good to hear your note on Amazon... yes, not a force for good! Many thanks for all your sharing of ideas. I'm watching the videos out of sequence, as you'll have gathered...

Good tips. Thank you. Also, using low voltage LED lighting ensures that mains voltage is kept away from the layout. I enjoyed reading your “Small Layout Design Handbook” too.

I would love to see more details and the building of the actual “boxes” you use for your cameos.

There have to be some trade secrets! Haha seriously nothing rocket science. Just ply or MDF, whatever is to hand. 9mm base and ends, thinner for the pelmet and back.

Hello again! I have been enjoying your videos over my lunch breaks in the last week or so - may I please ask what colour paint you used for the backscene in your description of the baseboard early on at around 1:13 ? I have some aerosols I'm looking to mist together but I'm just curious.

Trying and failing, to get a copy of your book. Do you know if it is still available anywhere?

hi John, it sold out at the publisher months ago, I’m afraid. I’m well on with book 2, we’re not reprinting until after this new one is out… it sold so quickly Simon and I were somewhat taken by surprise and perhaps would in future consider a larger run. Good luck!

@James Hilton Custom Model Railways I'm glad it was such a success. I'll have to be a lot quicker in future.....and buy both!
