This Spongebob game had the most time and effort put into it, this was his best by far.
I miss that short era in the early 2000's when there was just hit game after hit game like this and not the same game with a different look and title.

I'm glad that there are a lot of people around my age and even younger that are coming out of the woodwork to voice their appreciation of this game. I think y'all missed out on the 3d platformer era with Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie because of your age, but thankfully this game came out at the right time for you. I only managed to play those games because of my older sister. I have a better connection with this game since it came out when I was old enough to ask for games, so I remember getting the movie game and this game right after.
This game was so good that I assumed it was the movie game's sequel. I still remember the first time I had played the game, with my dad in the room watching. It took me so long to beat the game, since I was an easily scared child. Those boss robots were terrifying to a kid like me. While I got the game in 2004/2005, I did not beat it until 2007. To my credit I played a lot of games in between. The movie game I was even worse with, only beating it without cheats recently, when I went back to play the games out of nostalgia.
My oldest save in the game is from 2005, over a decade ago. The person I'd thought I'd be, well I'm not him. I am frankly not as mature as my childhood brain would think I am, but I am pretty satisfied with who I've become since. I miss those times though. No responsibilities, just playing my video games all day.
I'm rambling on, but I have a special attachment to this game and my life around it all those years ago. We all feel the same nostalgia for our past childhood, our innocence, and imagination. Don't get me wrong, the game is fun, but our nostalgia includes more than just the game.

Man, whatever happened to good spongebob games like this?
When the writers who wrote it (and the show) at the time left. It should've ended after season 3 and the movie. We would've still had the best spongebob games ever, and the name 'new spongebob' wouldn't leave a sour taste in my mouth.

As a child, I remember playing this game over and over all the time. My least favorite places were Rock Bottom and the Kelp Forest. Goo Lagoon was up there too because of platforming. I had fought and defeated all the bosses except for The Flying Dutchman and the inside-section on the Robo-Spongebob. I remember the maximum spatulas I had was close to 75, and I had completed the brawl thing in the Krusty Krab. Other than that, I can't remember anything about the game.

True Story: When I first played this game as a kid, since Jellyfish Fields was the first level, after fighting the King Jellyfish, I assumed that every level had a boss fight so I spent ages going through Downtown Bikini Bottom looking for the next boss that didn’t exist

Still my favourite game to this day, just too good, The landscapes, the controls, the story line, the free roam, the attacks, the bosses, and the incredibly good levels that are created. Good for it's time.

Good spongebob games right here. I loved this game too, glad I was able to play it at a good age like from 6-10 I think, one of my favorite games back in the days. Also whenever I had to play the Patrick boss though, it always freaked me out. Every time I played that I would just be staring at the tv like good lord!!!

When i was younger i always replayed the robot patrick fight cuz it was so fun and i remember the graveyard being such a pain in the ass to get through cuz it was so damn hard. I later 100% the game and here i am 7 years later ready to play the game again because of the amazing mechanics, characters, bosses and above all MUSIC!!
Damn, I still remember this. This game came out in Oct. of 2003. I got it two months later for Christmas. I was 4. Now, I'm 16, going on 17 as of tomorrow. This (along with Lights Camera Pants which I owned)... were one of my childhood memories. Funny thing, I almost missed out on this. I had wanted Creature from the Krusty Krab (I don't know what the fuck I was thinking I was 4) but my sister told my mom I wanted this instead. I have NO regrets. Man, I remember the memories, from Sand Mountain, to the Industrial Park, hell this was back when Spongebob was good. The new episodes are a slap to the face. That's why I only watch the old episodes.The farthest I ever made it was Spongebob's Dream. I couldn't do the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard. It scared the shit out of me, but now, I think I'll hook up my ol' PS2 or GCN and play it for fun. Freakin' Nostalgia right here. Back then, things were good, from games to TV shows, now....I-I don't even know what to say. It's sad, but we'll always have the memories of the good ol' days.

These robots literally gave me nightmares when I was 7, I had to stop playing it because of the continuous nightmares. I then decided to play it again when I was 10 because I thought it wouldn't scare me anymore, I was wrong. Again, I had nightmares, so my mom gave it away. Now that I'm 20 this game has been on my mind for weeks and I can't stop thinking about how fun it would be to repurchase it and play it again. But after watching these boss fights, I can't help but fear that even though I think I am finally ready to handle these creepily rendered robots, that I will once again find myself having those same nightmares. I am a grown adult. I shouldn't be terrified and haunted by the way these robots sound and look. But am I? Of course. Will I still repurchase the game despite all of that? Absolutely.
Update: I repurchased the game and have absolutely no regrets.
Disney Newsie I know what you mean, when I was small I was terrified of the gremlins, even the fuzzy ones. After like 8 years I forgot they existed but then I was watching a video where someone did impressions of different characters and when I saw that image of a gremlin and the voice I got this awful chill down my spine and I didn't know why 😂

Robo-Patrick was my sworn enemy because I was scared to face him when I got to the final phase of his fight. Using only the Bubble Bowl to attack him, not to mention, whenever he taunted me when I got hit, it kind of sent a scary sensation up my spine. 16:30
There was a time when licenced games were terrible with crappy plots music and controls there was a law against any licence game being playable let alone enjoyable.
then one day a rebel stepped forward his name was Spongebob he brought hope to the world of liscenced games with amazing controls, great humor, fun gameplay, and epic music the best being Battle for Bikini Bottom but then one day after Creature From the Krusty Krab the king of bad liscenced games ,Activision, had him arrested and made terrible games such as Plankton's Robotic Revenge and Spongebob Hero Pants... Truth or Square was the last decent Spongebob game to ever appear since...

I kinda like robotic revenge, it brings back memories of playing with my dad
But he was broken free after Activision lost the license due to poor sales from those 2 games. He was accepted into the culture of THQNordic, and was safe and sound from the clutches of a greedy publisher. Shortly after, excellency was done, and him and THQNordic all came together and made an Unreal Engine powered remake of his most famous adventure.
