I love compilations because you get a good overview with the hits and some lesser known tracks without having to buy every record or cd that a performer or a band has put out. Saves space!
I LOVE compilations!! Always have! I like those Motown ones. I've a few on CD only. Have the Alternative '80s I think on CD, and the C86 on Vinyl and Ireland comp too! I thought I had 'Help' CD but apparently not. Just checked, I have 454 Comps & Soundtracks on all formats!
I think the competition part has ended but you can still do an entry if you want - the threads are quite a good way to introduce your channel to the VC - and adding a touch of Worcestershire sauce can spice up those Baked Beans ! Have a good one ☝️ 🫡👍🇬🇧
Alright Gav. The complication I have left from my vinyl collection (Sold off years ago, kept the roof over my head ) is the Mods Mayday 79 album original. Cult classic. Never was really a compilation man like yourself. I always thought I could do a better job of them. Ha. I won’t mention the Strength Through Oi album. .Oh dear . Long gone. All the best mate. Good work.
Excellent Motown singles boxsets..lovely presentation..John 6 inch would love those ( if he doesn't already have them). I don't own many 80s 12" singles on vinyl, so those CD comps would be desirable..as I like some of the songs you read out. I really like Lush, they were my favourite Shoegazers along with Cocteau Twins.( although they also get classed as dream pop). Nice one Gav.
@@mikevinylspiral they are a lovely set - 5-6 cds - every single a and b side of all the Motown labels (all the off shoots etc) - plus a 7inch in each one - they were around £50 a set on release - great essays as well throughout each book - I might try and do a proper video on them as a complete set but need to get a better camera set up 1st !
Great selection Gav. I actually used to have nearly all the Motown Chartbusters LPs but I ended up purging all of them except 3 (the best) and 4. The cover of 3 is in my list of favourite album covers of all time. I bet your old cats appreciate your dedication.
@@jamesgriffithsmusic yep that vol 3 silver cover is iconic along with moon picture on the back ! Ha ha cats are very happy in their world thanks ! 👍🫡🎄😻
Gav, thanks very much for taking the time to do an entry and share the comps you do have. That looks like a fantastic Motown comp set. CD comps are great because you can bring them along in the car. You name goes in the hat. Happy holidays to you and yours. Cheers.
Hey Gav! Thanks for the massive shoutout and the subs push, really appreciate it man. I have about 7/8 comps or ‘best of’s’ on vinyl, not many as I don’t really collect them. I have loads on cds but nothing really interesting. I don’t think I’ll have time to enter jacks competition before the deadline. I also wanted to do the ‘sad bastard tag’ but the life of a chef is hard in December and I don’t have the energy when I get home to make a video. So at the moment when I’m home I’m just relaxing and either listening to music or watching the vinyl community. That vertigo boxset looked rather interesting though, I’m going to have to investigate that one. ✌️
@@martinthemartianvinyl no problem Martin ! Glad to see if I can help ! Appreciate the chefs of the world !! Have a good Xmas to you and yours 👍🫡🇬🇧🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Hi gav … those alternative compilation CDs are excellent.. nicks vinyl butty sent me a load of Motown compilation albums as vclt..👍I look forward to your response to rob Edwards tag 🤷♂️
Sorry Rob - my brain keeps associating you with obscure 80’s rugby players- maybe it’s those rugger shirts you wear !! I’ve corrected myself in the comments.. and make extra effort on your OFFICIAL Beatles response video NOT to do it again !! And yes those Alt comp CDs are a great listen 🎧
