Fix for BenQ SW No Cable Connected! (No Signal) Even when you have a source hooked up!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 янв 2021
- This video is a quick guide on BenQ SW when you have a computer connected to the display, you might see a message "NO Cable Connected!" On the display and the screen is blank. Knowing that your computer works just fine but the video source does not detect, follow these steps to fix this issue. The reason why this happens is because BenQ SW line does not have auto input source detection. It is one of those pro oriented features that can cause a slight confusion but it is easily solved.

After several days of frustration, I finally stumbled upon this video. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Watching your simple explanation solved my problem. BenQ's manual didn't help me. You did.
You're welcome!
You just saved my entire work week with this video. Thank you so much!
😁
This video was the final piece to the puzzle of this past few days. Thank you so very much. BenQ SW270c is a fabulous monitor, a game changer here and everything is now up and running brilliantly thanks to the videos you create. Thank you Art for all that you do. * You are Art and Art is ALWAYS right *
Thank you! I am not always right, I'm humble enough to admit that, but many times I am ;)
I am really very grateful for this video. I thought I was in for hours/days of grief trying to sort this out. How is this not one of the first things BenQ write in their FAQ section???!
Thank you!
Thanks Art, after spending several hours trying to connect my new BenQ SW270C as a second monitor with my Mac max studio your advice worked first time. It's a pity that neither my previous contact with both the BenQ and Apple help lines were not able to give me this advice.
Glad I could help!
I got so mad at my pc for continously not popping up but this made my day that i finally found a vid that explained it, Thank you so much!
No problem!
You just made a very frustrating day into a good day. Fast becoming my go to channel, thank you.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video. It's something so simple, but you just saved me from buying more cables to try.
You are welcome!
Thanks brother - helping me 3 years later - cheers and have a great weekend!
Glad to help
Thank you - that was super helpful. In the beginning I though my screen was broken! Thanks again!
You're welcome!
Jesus, so simple but not obvious. Thank you very much, man!
You're welcome!
Well, it's 2023 and I have 3 new 27" PD series monitors I'm setting up and (of course) had no picture even though everything was hooked up correctly. You'd think after 30 years of building rigs I would have figured this out! Then again, one would think that in 2023 auto detect would be like intermittent windshield wipers (included). Thanks for the heads up. As a "thank you" I actually watched a full ad! 😉
Thank you!
Art is right! Setting up my BenQ has been ghastly. Thank you SO much.
You're welcome
Thank you so much! I was desperate until I found this video ...
Glad I could help!
OMG THANK YOU I WAS FREAKING OUT😭
:)
This guy just won person of the year for me! Thank you!
Thanks so much! I was so bewildered why my 2nd screen (BenQ) did not connect even though I plugged a new cable and the power seemed to work. Thanks a lot
You are welcome!
Spent hours trying to fix this problem ...... dude's a legend.
Thanks!
why is the translation not working?
Thank you so much! This video helped me to get my monitor working again! Greetings from Austria!
You're welcome!
I got my benq earlier today and I was going crazy, thank you!
Glad I could help!
My Xl2566k arrived today and I was freaking out when it said no connection after i changed the ports couple of times and tried to different HDMI cables! God bless you 🤣🤩
Glad I could help
Thank you for that!!! This was exactly my scenario and presto, it solved it!
You're welcome!
I faced to this when I was stonned so I thinked that I never could be able to find a solution but then I found this video so I can tell that you save me hours eating muchies and complainning. Thanks dude! sapee

Thank you so much for making this video. Quick fix in 30 seconds

Art you always have the answers!! Thank you!

Hey Art.. Thanks all for your videos, I've recently purchased Sw270c with all your helpful videos. But I just couldn't find the information on how to disable autocharge option via USB-C. Is there any way to do disable it?
This is automatic based on chipset negotiation between devices. No need to turn off for device that don't use PD.
It was VERY useful!! thanks a lot
You're welcome!
Oh that could be helpful, I’m picking up a sw270c today. Cheers
Awesome!
And was immediately helpful on set up. Slick monitor, very very nice. Thanks for your videos, I had no issue with calibration and you’ve shown handy hints I’ve put to use already.
Can you put the Picture in Picture on a hot key?
It is not possible to put picture in picture as a hotkey at the moment. And you're welcome
Very useful. Please try this if you’re struggling. It worked for me
Glad it helped
Thank you! Art really was right!
You bet! :)
Hi Art, Thank you for your fine videos explaining the line of BenQ displays. I recently purchased a BenQ SW270C monitor to work with my 2018 MacBook Pro and AOC 27" monitor. I'm having trouble with setting up the SW270C's USB C to USB C connection. I've tried (10+ times) the buttons on the front selecting the USB C but it doesn't take. I've also unplugged the AOC monitor and tried an Apple USB C several times. The BenQ supplied DP with USB C plug works for a connection between the Mac and SW270, but I wanted to use the features of the USB C - one of the reasons I purchased this model. Any suggestions?
So the cable that you are referring to DP to USB C, that is something that does not come standard with the SW. There's a DP to mini DP. And the other cable would be USB C to USB C, so it might be a good idea for you take pictures of the cable from the top down and front of the connect on each end along with an image of your laptop port and either message me on Facebook page, Instagram, or email it to me. We can go from there.
@@ArtIsRight How do I send you the photos? Email is no reply.

Hello ArtIsRight, thank you very much for your great videos and tutorials. I have a sw321c but can't choose between X-Rite i1Studio Spectrophotometer and X-Rite i1Display Pro Plus, I think I've watched all the videos about X-Rite i1Studio Spectrophotometer on youtube for the past two months but still haven't decided. if
If you post a detailed video comparing these two products, it would be great for me to get rid of this mess. Cheers.
You're welcome. I don't have a specific video comparing them but what it comes down to is this, are you printing in studio / home with an inkjet printer and do you need print profiling? If yes choose the i1Studio, if no choose the i1Display Pro Plus.
Thank you for your answer , and yes I want to buy a printer soon and frankly i open to printer suggestions. I just wonder if the monitor calibration results of these two products are the same?
They are very similar, as far as printer, you are looking at 2 camps, Epson and Canon, I prefer Epson. They just released the P700 and P900, the max print size would be what you want to consider. I have not tested those 2 but I have been using multiple generations of Epson now and I had better experience with them compared to Canon.
God bless you, you saved me! I was desperate 😆
You're welcome!!
Bruh!!! Well done! Thanks! Ben Q - Might want to put something in your documentation about this.
Thank you.
Thank you..was about to chuck the monitor in my garage..lol
Glad to help
Thank you! This solved my problem immediately.

thank you, you saved a person from a belt after a year.
Glad I could help!
I learned a lot from this everytime I clean my pc the moment I plug my monitor it show no cable connected... And now I know thanks
You're welcome!
This saved me, thanks a lot
You're welcome!
Hi Art, your directions worked perfectly the first time that I inputted them. But I recently turned off my MacMini M1 completely. Now when I tried to reconnect my BenQ GL2760-T, I get a “no signal detected” message on the monitor. I unplugged and plugged my cables back in with the same results. Suggestions? Thanks
Try plugging and unplugging the power. From there I would test the display with another computer. If it does not work then I would contact your local BenQ support for further help and possibly warranty replacement.
Okay I have been watching you all morning to try and learn about how to set up and use my monitor correctly..... I finally plug it all in and get nothing on the monitor... I touch the front keys like you said and it doesn't bring up anything. The online support guy I'm chatting with says I need a new monitor...... I have wasted a whole 5 hours trying to get it to work and now I will waste another hour trying to get it all back into the box. If anyone else is reading this I'm wondering if this is a common problem. Why it wouldn't have auto imput monitors is beyond me... I paid almost $900 for this!
There are practical reasons for this. This is mostly common with higher end displays that have multiple input sources. Are you talking with online support from BenQ or where you got the display from? Also would you like some help from me directly? Or if you have packed up the display already and choose to get a replacement or another display all together that is fine too. If you need my help reach out to me on my Facebook page, instagram or find my email on the about section on my main RUclips page.
@@ArtIsRight Thanks but I returned it already. I was talking online with someone from Benq and they advised me to return it.
Thanks man you fixed my problem!!!
Glad I could help
I am considering the PD3220U for purchase. I understand the display has build KMV. I plan to have multiple PC/Mac mini using single wireless/bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I am wondering if the display’s KMV switching will be usable when selecting different computer input source and connect the mouse/keyboard to the right computer or is KMV only usable using USB keyboard and mouse?
Mouse and Keyboard must be connected to the display for the KVM to work, also you must have a USB link between the computer and display for each system that you want to use the KVM switch as well. This really would be limited 2 computer sources, since there are limited USB uplink ports, the Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type B up link. Another thing that you might want to consider instead is Logitech mouse and keyboard that can be paired up to 3 systems.
Happy New Year Art, I recently purchased the BenQ PD2700U. All is great except that LRC panels show up extremely small when using 3840x2160 resolution. I watched your video on scaling and tried the suggested set-up. The only setting that worked for LRC panels was the 1920x1200. I can use that by switching when using LRC but is there any other solution to the problem. I have today updated my graphics driver but did not help. Thank you for all that you do for all of us. Larry B.
Happy New Year. Are you on PC or Mac?
@@ArtIsRight PC.
So if you use a PC I would run Native resolution for the display and use the magnification or zoom features in display setting, you might need to set it to 200, 250 or 300% depending on what you prefer.
A word wouldn't thank you, we need atleast a book to thank you ♥️
Thank you!

hello did you test pallete master Version: V1.3.13 yet ? i am really looking for your review because i wanna try it but am worry :D
I did, if you look on my channel community feed I have a few preliminary update on it. Full video will come this Friday. So far the software is stable and most of the recommendations from .12 would carry over. Caveat being that if the current version works don’t need to necessarily update.

Hi Art, not sure if you can help me or not, but for some reason my Benq SW270C monitor seems to be incapable of displaying the BIOS menu, or any sort of graphics/loading info before showing the Windows Login screen. When my PC is loading if I press the key to enter the BIOS the screen just stays black and never loads. I switch the cable to a different monitor and it will then show the BIOS screen.
I have had problems with using a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable (brand new) as well, where I select the DisplayPort input and it just wouldn't load. Due to this I have been using my DVI to HDMI cable, which works fine all the time, and to see if the DisplayPort problem was still occurring I just switched back to it, but it's fine now! So not sure if that's going to be a problem again, but thought it was worth mentioning as it might be related to my monitor's troubles with picking up a signal?
Thanks!
I have seen this happened on both Mac and PC with certain type of connector. My speculation is that higher resolution DP signal need some type of driver to launch or trick it to launch at the start somehow for the display to light up. I would just keep the other cable handy, not sure if it will happened in the future or not.
Exactly my problem now! Have you solve it in the meantime?
@@piktref9658 Well, the BIOS screen still never loads, so I guess I didn't fix that... Haven't needed to use it since setting things up, but will be a bit annoying if I do need to use it again, especially if I didn't have another monitor! The DisplayPort has been fine since as well, really don't know what stopped it happening. I think maybe playing around with the settings on the monitor buttons, but it's been over a year now so not really sure...
Hi Art, I previously asked a question about setting my new Benq SW270C up to work with my MacBook Pro 2015 & iPad Pro. Your prompt response sorted that out for me. However, it appears I have another issue in that I don’t have any sound. The monitor shows that the sound is not muted and the volume control moves up & down but when playing your utube videos with the monitor connected to either the iPad or the MacBook I have no sound from the monitor and lose the sound from the MacBook or iPad. Help again please.
Display cable carries sound but SW display does not have speakers, so what you have to do is go to system preferences - sound - output and choose the build in MacBook Pro or other speakers of your choice from the list. For the iPad pull down the control center, on the top right now playing square, tab on the circle with the triangle in the top right corner, that will bring up a pop up windows that allows you to choose the speak source.
Thank you soooo muccchhh some dumbass kept saying wait for the power light switch to turn on etc mine doenst have no light other then the display. Saved me from a mini heart attack

I was nearly caught out by this. I got an SW321C two weeks ago and was surprised at the blank screen when I connected it and booted the computer. Fortunately I worked out how to fix it but I can't believe that such an expensive monitor does not have auto input detection. Is there supposed to be some advantage to this?
That is one way of looking at it. Another way is to look from a pro stand point where if you have multiple sources hook up and say one source got restart or something like that, the display does not switch the input source and therefore you don’t have to fiddle around with the display to choose the input source. Call this over thinking or over engineered if you must, but it is not as if the display is broken or anything like that :) And if you only have 1 input source then yes it won’t change and will just stay there once you set it up.
@@ArtIsRight Thanks. Like you say, with a single input, once the problem is sorted it's sorted for good.
:)
Thank you sir, it's very helpfull

I use dual monitors on a 2019 Mac Pro, an older Apple Thunderbolt Display for tool panels and a new BenQ SW271C for the critical work. Every time restart the Mac Pro, the SW271C initially turns on while the computer boots up, then goes black and the desktop items that I have displayed on the SW271Q (drives, folders, files etc.) all move to the Thunderbolt Display. I have to push the SW271C power button to get it to turn back on. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? The SW271C is connected directly to the graphics card (AMD Radeon Pro W5700X) in the Mac Pro via a USB-C cable.
Usually if the monitor sleeps it should turn back on when the computer comes on. I'm not sure what is going on. You can try to change the USB C setting in the display menu and see if that helps.
Omg thank you!
Welcome!!
Thank you so much
Any time
thanks this video can help me solve problem
:)
Just wondering do you use a special usb-c to usb-c cable? I tried the on that charges my m1 MacBook Air. I didn’t know if that is a sufficient cable or not since it’s not recognizing it
The one that comes with your Apple computer, the charger cable is only a USB 2.0 charging cable with USB C on both end. It is not USB 3.x or thunderbolt. The cable that use is from amazon, braided. Something like this www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087ZQ4S6L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@ArtIsRight thank you!! That was a big help!!! Appreciate you writing back!!
Sure thing, I should do a video about this!
@ArtIsRight / +ArtIsRight I'm having an issue with a BenQ 27" that recently just started blinking. 1 second black screen, 1 second desktop background.
I can move stuff while the screen is black and it reacts. I swapped HDMI cables. I swapped to a Display Port and different position on the GPU and checked to see if the Task Manager is blinking or if it's the monitor. And then in the middle of the swap, I unplugged the HDMI and the monitor was still just blinking and I can't figure out why.
I have been using it flawlessly for a few years now. I put my PC to sleep last night, came home from work and turned it on to find it just ... blinking?
Thoughts?
Contact your local BenQ support for help no this, it could be a defect.
Thanks! But I have no USB input source icon showing up when I hit the button. and the link you shared for PD2700U leads to page not found. still can't see any other menu to choose to make the connection to USB??? any ideas? Thank you so much for your helpful videos.
This is for the SW display. Not for PD. If the menu system does not work I recommend factory resetting it, you can search my channel on how to do that and if it does not work then. Contact your local BenQ support for help.
I have connected to my MacBook Pro 2023 M2 16in with BenQ's USB C cable to SW271C and even after selecting the input source as you suggested it is keep saying 'No Signal Detected'

Thank you your video solved my problem however I cannot access the mail program on my BenQ monitor. Can access all the other apps. I'm connected through my USB3 port on my MacBook Pro.
You probably have to move the program to the BenQ screen.
@@ArtIsRight How do I move each program to the BenQ monitor?
Drag the title bar over and move the windows to the other display.
I press the button you indicated, and it displays a graphic of the puck with diagrammatic views of the different connection types. However, the puck that came with my unit doesn't correspond to the image on the screen... pushed all the buttons and turned the dial, nothing.
This guide is for display button only. In dependent of the puck.
Could u maybe help me I accidentally switched to display cable setting instead of hdmi and due to it being connected to a laptop when I press a button I can't see anything (it's blank and I don't know what to do)

Hi Art, I just bought a SW321C and am trying to connect it to my Dell desktop PC via USB-C. I tried your suggestion in the video above, but it still won't connect to my desktop PC which has two USB-C ports. The quick start guide shows an image of the USB-C port on the monitor connecting to a laptop. It shows the other ports (HDMI and DP) connecting to either a laptop or a PC. Does this mean that I can't connect my new fancy SW321C to my desktop PC with a USB-C cable and that the USB-C port works only with laptops? That would be a bit of a bummer. If I can't use USB-C, should I use DP or HDMI? Thanks!
USB C is a connection standard. On desktop PC, USB C is just to carry USB signal and no display port or display signal output overlay. On a laptop manufacture can do the signal overlay because of the level of integration that most desktop PC lack. So no USB C on desktop PC unless it is on the actual video will not output signal. You have to use Display Port instead if you have it, I would still avoid HDMI if you can, but if you can't, try it by doing a calibration test. If it pass you are good. Side note, USB C on laptop uses Display Port signal overlay anyway, so you are not missing out much. Also if you use USB C on a desktop PC, it will only carry display signal and any USB Signal for the most part, again because the lack of integration between the motherboard and video card.
@@ArtIsRight Thanks, Art, for the quick and detailed response! I will go the Display Port and USB Type B Uplink. I discovered that my PC has 3.1, Gen 1 type C port on the front panel (and not part of the graphics card) that Dell says is used to "connect external storage devices, printers, and EXTERNAL DISPLAYS. Provides 15 W of power and speeds of up to 5 Gbps." The port is not attached to the graphics card, unlike the Display Port. Do you think that this type C port will suffice or should I stick with the Display Port and USB Type B uplink? Thanks again!
So that type C is most likely using the integrated GPU rather than the discrete one. I don't think I know of any PC manufacture other than apple that does the signal route back from the discrete to the regular USB C ports.

It should work on most BenQ! Glad to hear!

Could be because VGA is a passive port, it is not meant to be converted to HDMI, where if you have an HDMI out on the laptop you can have VGA on the other end and you are ok. I would see what other ports you have on your laptop an consider using the other ones instead.
