Your MS Scrapper needs his feet rotated 180 so the heels can tab into the waist area. That will keep it from coming apart when he is in leg mode. Alternately, if you flip the purple waist flap over, his toes will lock in just as you have them in the video. I'm not sure if having two ways to do it was intentional but Scrapper's feet lock in perfectly either way.

I like the cartoon accuracy and stability of my NewAge. Somewhat disappointed with the feet though. Great versus!

I have the NA Devy too and I echo your point about the feet. Especially scrapper. He “disconnects” when in foot mode way too easily. I believe NA is aware of this and when the replacement legs come for the 3 bots, his foot will be more solid.

I like the bulk of the MS, but I hate the colors, especially that weird plum purple. I love the more grape purple on the NA. I also prefer the partsforming and how easily you can put him together and take him back apart. I do sorta want to paint the visor cherry red though.....it's usually NA who does that!

I do love the toon look BUT I want my combiners to combined not just be armor so magic square is more my them would be happy with either one just like magic a little more

Magic Square all the way, he's staggeringly good! I absolutely love him even though that initial transformation journey is literal HELL, though it does get better each time you try. NA loses in almost every respect for me, I don't even prefer the colours (which I normally do when it comes to NA).

Whilst i respect your opinion, mine drastically differs to newage. Newage was capable of creating a combiner that not only holds together better, but is made of better materials and has more acurate colors. I prefer to frame newage has because i don't have to deal with a bunch of different, easily lost pieces. Hell, even the transformations are better. Newage was able to make the figures look just as good as magic square with significantly simpler transformations. Magic square's materials are deplorable, the colors are too muted, the transformations are overcomplicated, and even the combiner's articulation suffers.
@@BricksAndBots47I know this is a super late comment to this video but I agree that the New Age Devastator is better. My reasons might not be the same as yours, but I like the toon accuracy and also the more toon proportions of the New Age
I did catch Kato's comparrison of this too. I agree with both of you that MS is the better choice. You mentioned how expensive these legends figure are getting during the live stream with Kato and they cetainly are! The legends Devis are only about $100 less than my masterpice scale Toy World version and thats crazy! Another great video, thanks again.

I picked up the G2 version from Newage and am super happy with it. The individual robots are super fun and the parts forming gives him a super solid combined mode. I also preferred Newage's design more than Magic square.

I have the MS Devastator. Transforming Longhaul is a PITA. I’m waiting for a video to help me with transforming him. I don’t understand the instructions. I’m confused what to do with the arms on Longhaul when goin into alt mode. I really do like the MS Devastator.

I picked up the MS as well for the reasons that you mentioned for winning. However, transforming them sucked and almost made me regret. I was happily surprised with how solid and stable they were once combined though. My mixmaster knee is much tighter than the scrapper side, though neither are bad. Guess it is a case by case thing.

I just got the MS set and transforming them has been a pain in the ass, but their complexity makes me feel like I got my monies worth.
MS is just more fun to mess with and has way better engineering. All the NA has is better hardware imo. I own both of these sets, but man I wish we could get the MS engineering and size with the NA paint and materials. Great review.

Have both. Newage all the way like the ms but I am toon all the way as well. Don’t mind the parts forming. Newage for me is more stable and the ms is good but there’s just something about the newage. If feels more solid. Good review. Thanks

Excellent review! I´ve already got the Mixmaster-Scrapper box from Magic Square and ordering the next ones.
I think that strange purple tone close to some sort of Chewing Gum is the only thing Magic Square have not solved so nice. Transformations also are a bit complex, as usual on this brand. vehicle modes are enough fine for me.

Normally I like New Age more but I like the height and build of Magic Squares attempt more. I'm fine with the muted colours too. Hard to choose which has the better individual bots though.

Pretty much agree with you im glad i got the one I wanted, no way im gonna double dip on this one and honestly if i did id get 2 ms for bot mode and devy mode, im off to the gym thanks again bro

Been waiting on one of these to help finalize my decision so I really appreciate this Deluxe. Funny enough, that dull purple is exactly what has kept me from the Magic Square so far. Was hoping to hear them announce a EX metallic version by now but nothing. So between that, the ease of transformation (I've seen multiple people say it took them hours to get MS into Devastator and what you've said kinda supports that), and the fact that I'm the weirdo who actually prefers all of the combiner teams themselves to the combiners, I'll probably go in on NewAge. Thanks as always Deluxe! 👏🍻

My relationship with combiners, especially Devastator, since childhood is complicated. Always loved the concept, but since Bruticus was the only one I ever managed to complete back in the day, with Devastator always being 5/6 (pretty sure it was Bonecrusher I was missing) they always felt extra incomplete due to how long the teams took to finish in my collections.
All that to preface my question I never thought I'd be able to ask in any way that wasn't rhetorical...
Which set has the strongest rep for the individual team members? Given I'll be gathering them over time and their prices being pretty close all things considered, I feel what will push me off my proverbial fence is which ones I'll find the most enjoyment with while gathering the full team.

The magic square one almost looks like a mini version of the toyworld devastator but I went with na I like that one more I like the smaller size takes up less room

Gotta wonder why Magic square reversed the direction of Scavengers shovel in combined mode. I have both, and to me the Newage is too neon green. I like the transformations though. Ms knocked iot out of the park though, but they both have their pros and cons, that’s why I bought them both.

The Newage boxes are homages to the original Diaclone packaging. They even mashes the extra effort there, too.

The one thing I don't love about MS is the face of devy. Everything else I think looks nicer than NA but the face looks puffy to me for some reason.

MS' Devy looks kinda janky in a way that I can't fully explain. I'm sure that's down to them avoiding partsforming but on aesthetics alone Newage wins for me

MS version looks better but the QA and tedious transformation are terrible.
only QA issue i had was the right knee. Other than that he was good on mine. Yeah its a pain to transform and combine but got easier the more times i did it. Thank you very much for watching this! :)
