Thank you Nick for another great and thorough review. I am enjoying watching them and will get through all of them eventually. One question, although I am a low handicap golfer, and I have tried a lot of balls, my biggest weakness is that I hit it shorter than almost all the other guys who shoot the numbers I score. Usually by quite a bit of distance. So my accuracy and consistency is a stronger point of my game. I play a course with fairly large greens with sand traps usually off to the sides and most of the greens have a decent slope from back to front, and are well watered. They will hold any shot of a decent height and contact quality. So I am considering temporarily suspending using urethane covered balls to try to chase lower spin and perhaps greater distance, especially from the driver. What have been the longest few golf ball models you have tested so far? Thanks.
I am so sorry for not getting back to this sooner. I guess this comment just slipped through the cracks. Let me give you the best answer I can. Don't worry to much about distance, because accuracy and consistency will always beat distance out every day of the week and twice on Sunday. However I will agree with you about switching to a non urethane. If your greens are big and plentiful, then you don't need urethane as much. Here is what I would recommend: Cut Red - Incredible ball speed with all clubs, giving me an increased distance of almost 10 yards per club. Also straight as an arrow. Precept Laddie Extreme - I know, it's a precept. However it just jumps off the club with amazing distance and speed. Pinnacle Rush - The soft version is for extremely slow swingers. However I will say that the rush model has been a hidden gem. I played 18 with it last Saturday and never had a single issue.
I see plenty of similarities in both. Lower launch, high spin. However the main, and clear biggest, difference will be the feel. The Sugar feels like a normal Tour Softer feel ball, while imitating characteristics of an X type ball. The Pro Plus feels like a rock sometimes if mishit, and always sounded more clicky to me. (Most X golf balls do)
@@GolfBallAddict interesting. I always thought the Pro Plus feels nice and soft, especially with hybrids and long irons (of course, I was playing Top Flites before I tried them, so I might be biased). Gonna have to try some Sugar next time I get balls, I think. Thanks!
I've been a Sugar believer for a year or more. Ball performs like a tour level ball at considerably less $$$. I've not been able to discern any real difference between these and top level (and top $$) products like Callaway and Titleist. Green feel is top grade and the durability is also top tier. I'm a 14 and use about 4-5 dozen ball a season so using quick math I'm saving almost a $100.00 per season! That's a greens fee at a good course savings! I heartily recommend you try these. Don't get swallowed up by brand names and hype. Believe the performance and cost instead.
I completely agree. I don't know if you saw my value top five tour balls of the year, but I gave the sugar the number one spot. By chance have you tried the new g pure yet?
I looked up Sugar and I saw that they have the G1s for $60 bucks and the new version the Sugar Pures for $70. Have you had a chance to check those out, was curious which one you thought was better?
I absolutely love the G1 sugar Ball. I have not been able to get a hold of the pure yet due to the price point. It's hard to spend $70 just to review one golf ball lol
This seems like rebranded Kirkland ball. It is known for being a high spin ball. Would be interesting to see how your numbers compare to this when you review it.
@@GolfBallAddict fair enough, I guess you have a spreadsheet to refer to with ball speed, carry distances etc? It just didn't seem to stand out when I watched the review compared to some others you have tested more recently. I also watched an in-depth review of the sugar ball compared to a prov v1 by elite performance golf who are based here in the UK. Granted, he swings driver 20mph faster than you (and me!) but his conclusion after hitting a lot of shots with each ball was that they were essentially the same. Ie, the sugar ball was pretty much identical to a PV1. Would this be your experience too? Don't get me wrong Nick. I think your channel is great and I watch every review you do, I just think it's interesting to have a dialogue with other people's experiences taken into account. I guess you have tested the PV1? It would be interesting for you to compare the two balls, given what I highlighted above. The tester from elite performance actually found the PV1 to feel softer than the sugar which I guess would be more akin to the PV1 x. Sorry for the long post !
Sugar! I wish they came in something other than a giant cube box, but still a great ball.
I’m a mid handicapper and I’ve been playing the Sugar balls for two years now and I love em👍👍
I can see why you do. I was incredibly shocked at how great the performed.
Great review! Going to order a sample pack because of this video.
When you play them please let me know your thoughts! :-)

I had the 3 trial balls. I really liked it, but went back to pro v1. No idea why, given the price. Habit, I think!
How would you compare the Sugar to the Vice Pro Plus? I know it's 2/3 the price, are they comparable in terms of perfomance?

Spalding SD Tour.
Hands down the best budget three piece ball there is.
I'm going to be testing that one soon 😁
These haven’t be re reviewed in a while…how do you feel about it now?
Lol keep an eye out on my top 100 golf ball list I'm currently doing. I won't give it away but it's definitely in a very good spot

I need to review that Kirkland ball. I will try to get it in the mix somewhere.
Sounds like this could could be a top 5 golf ball.
It's definitely one that a lot of people do not remember. Obviously it's in the top 10.
Subscribed just because of your hat.
I will take what I can get! :-) thanks so much for watching and subscribing.
Still dont see how this won the top ball of the 100 you tested? Numbers seem distinctly average to me.
Not compared to my averages over the other 120 I've tested. Around a 9 out of 10 on every club.
