@@RideAcrossTheRiver not any more seriously than say Game of Thrones that make it appear that dragons were real creatures in the Middle Ages or whenever it is supposed to take place.
Maggie as well. Ruby was a resistor because of losing Abraham. Maggie reminded everyone that personal loss at the hands of oppressors was cause for the fight for freedom.
Perfect scene. Solid writing and performances all around. Catching the last half of this discussion on tv after a grade school day made for a captivating first viewing experience to get me hooked into V.
I have both “V” and “V: the Final Battle” on DVD. Even today with technology they didn’t have back then - cellphones and laptop computers for example - it holds up extremely well. An excellent mini-series.
The choice was to either fight back or sit around and wait to be canned like a sardine and shipped back to the dog star. I would’ve been screaming fight back.
It's a short scene but they really touch on the most salient points. Risk of armageddon versus certain extinction. Do they have the right to decide for the whole world? Interesting too... 3 billion people. 40 years later and it's almost 8 billion.
Armageddon IS a belief!!! It IS Jéhovah 's witnesses belief! This moutain doesnt existe It IS juste à belief! Do wake UP! Jésus saves you and gives you love but this séries was ahead of its Time!
If I'm not mistaken, according to Jack Van Impe ministries, "armageddon" is from a Greek word meaning "end of an age". And when one age ends, another age begins.

One thing that never made sense to me was what if the resistance had just gained an advantage through regular fighting and started to win. Wouldn't Diana do the same thing and if so why didn't Martin even bother to help humans because even if they were able to fight back the mother ship would nuke earth
You see War has a tendancy to do that Ma'am.
Brilliant line
Genius.
They just don't make shows like this anymore. Still timeless topics after all of these years.
Lizards in skin suits and they eat humans? I understand it's a metaphor, but the writing takes it all too seriously.

Yep. Writing was much better than acting in this scene.

"At least we have a fighting chance" Humanity's motto since forever
As raggedy and ordinary this bunch is we are the last shot before the buzzer
Last is exactly right
Well I hate to say it.....for once in my life I have to agree with Tyler.
Great Scene.
I remember how popular both miniseries were, and how we'd sit as a family to watch them, good times.
If we attack if we attack at least we have a fighting chance
But if we don;t we signed this Planets Death Warrant.

Great scene! Love it.
I loved this scene ❤
as many times as I’ve watched this, I still can’t decide what my vote would’ve been if I’d been in the group. Both sides were making sense.
The choice was to either fight back or sit around and wait to be canned like a sardine and shipped back to the dog star. I would’ve been screaming fight back.
Good Sci fi series that should have lasted longer.
Original v was awesome. 80's style.

Notice Robin had no dialogue, yet she is sitting there?
What would Robin have to say? She actually did more than any other person there.
She may not have said anything, but she knew exactly what was going on.
So the choice is to fight back or sit around and wait to be canned like a sardine and shipped back to the Dog Star. I say fight back.
My vote attack!
She said she’s not willing to do be the death of 3 billion people hard to believe but we’re at 9 billion now.
If the figures were given are accurate, then yes.

Notice how many of the characters are wearing blue jeans?
Its 1983, it was the style.
Jeans are durable clothing and easy to get.
Where's the under armour gear?
Navy seals wore jeans on mission for a while in Vietnam.
It's great how they left off the makeup to Faye Grant and let the weariness and puffy eyes show.
