Me too,it didn't make sense and still doesn't till this day. It collasally carried on the drama, action and suspense that the 1st 2 miniseries started and it got better and better and better!!! But im just thankful for the ones they made,i still watch'em and enjoy them!!!

Judson Scott showed up in a few sci-fi franchises in the 80's; I was happy to see him guest star in Star Trek TNG ( as an interplanetary drug dealer ) and Voyager ( as a Romulan commander of the hijacked Prometheus starship).
I like his character in Wrath of Khan. Just bugged me after Khan said, "Joachim I shall avenge you!" and went in for a hug he closed his eyes after he died with them open. The actor was probably afraid that his eyes would have been poke out by Khan's wardrobe.
Julie and Diana were two of the hottest women on tv in the early 80s. I too had good taste as a 1980s kid. Loved this show. The remake was crap but did have Deadpool's girlfriend in it as the Diana role. Poor comparison.
I was completely obsessed with this show in elementary school. Looking back, I'm thinking if the visitors society was at the point where they had to make a colossal investment of resources in the form of 50 motherships, hundreds of thousands of soldiers, personnel, technicians, etc., fly a huge distance from home, abduct people and take water the society must be in a pretty perilous state to resort to such extreme measures. And it has me wondering if this solution would in fact be permanent or just a stop-gap. I can't recall if this was mentioned on TV but the book stated that not only were they bringing people back for food, they were going to be bred like livestock to have a constant supply and also the plan was to have many men serve as soldiers, as cannon fodder.
Their planet was attacked by Kzzizk in retaliation for destroying their homeworld. They used antimatter bomb completely destroying 1/3 of the planet surface. Most of the visitors fleet during war with Oolot and Veern were small ships. It was during this war Diana got to prominence in Leader eyes
Holy crap, Jane Badler and Faye Grant on a blockbuster show with awesome badass aliens. As a kid watching this, my mind went straight to total fantasy land. To say Lucy and Susie Q had a workout would be an understatement lol.
Cheesy, but still great. Have the mini series on DVD. Biggest mistake was making this into a weekly adventure series. Lost that spark that made the original series memorable. Plus, a lot of the original cast members left: Ham Tyler and Chris leaving was the nail in the coffin. Oh, and killing Elias was a controversial move as well.
What happened with Ham Tyler and chris? I don't recall. And I totally agree, when they killed Elias I was sickened and sad. Him and Julie were the original resistance members!

Julia was the perfect leader for the resistance and her relationship with the lone wolf Mike donavon was uniquely special, clashing with him over the truth about his son and other decisions while growing affectionate for one another .a power couple for the resistance movement.
I LOVED the miniseries so much. But the series that followed was ludicrous, and I make a point of not watching it now. The idea that you could wear a Visitor mask, and then a human mask ON TOP, and it be seamless. Ridiculous. Things like this took away all the stakes and believability of the show.

How did this fool Diana? They could be wearing masks that look like Julie and Donovan's faces, but why would they also have Julie and Donovan's voices? (At this point in the story she spent a fair amount of time with Donovan and should be able to recognize it.)
They explained that in-universe as persistent and prolonged exposure to Earth's atmosphere. The atmosphere on Sirius is supposed to be far more polluted, to the point where their throats adapted to it. It was sudden exposure to Earth's atmosphere that resulted in vocal reverberation, which eventually corrected itself.
Alot of things change due to a smaller budget. Cheaper sets, recycled FX clips from the original, got rid of the more expensive original cast. Couldn't even afford the audio FX to create the modulated vistor voices.
My friend so cold rebooted B series it just didn't cut it man inside the guards didn't look intimidating like it did in the 80s version in the 80s version those guys looked intimidating but they did bring Janet badler in for the rebooted series and that kind of made it better for me almost
A lot of jumping going on in the future. That's why the jump suit became so popular. Then it was discovered that aliens also prefer the jump suit. It was our similarities that finally brought peace... that and our wardrobe choices.

Do we want to see Jane Badler doing a lizard version of Kim Hunter in Planet of the Apes? (Okay maybe I would want to see that.) An in-universe reason is because even with the secret revealed, the Visitors can more effectively control humans using the humanoid identities they've established and conditioned themselves to exist in. They practice advanced brainwashing and propaganda techniques and probably still have a substantial percentage of humanity gaslit to believe resistance terrorists and evil scientists faked the lizard effects.
This is a good example of what I disliked about the weekly series compared to the original minis. There’s no way the humans would have been able to use the mask technology to fool the Visitors into believing those lizard masks. It was courting incredulity in The Final Battle when they used the devices to make their voices reverberate and trick Visitors into believing it was real, but this was just over the top. Diana would have recognized those lizard masks as fakes immediately. In fact she probably would have recognized the human masks (on top of the lizard masks on top of the real human faces, also an unbelievably advanced concept) as fakes. The series just got too cheap and employed too many unbelievable scenarios like this, though it did have it’s charms here and there.
I remember reading years ago that they had to change things such as the reverb voices to cut costs for a weekly tv series to keep things within a fixed budget.
It cost like a million dollars per episode, which was nearly unheard of at the time, so a lot of corners were cut, such as the voice reverb and reusing certain shots and scenes.

Well, there was one made, but it was in the 80's for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum microcomputers.
