I think code requires a 2nd cutoff in certain states for boilers above a certain btu rating. That's a big boiler. I had 550,000 WM EG-11 in my house. Was able to replace it with an 8 section Burnham Independence.

Sometimes you could have 2 LECO's , one being used as the actual burner shutdown and the second one controls the make-up wster valve.

Very true. These two basically shut down the same thing tho. The one I replaced cut main power to the boiler, the other cut power to the ignition control board.
