A little story i must tell, 2 years ago, I got an injury from playing indoor football in school, with that came the Easter break and my 17th Birthday, my sister did all she could to brighten up my day, so a few days previously she e-mailed Colm to send me a Birthday wish, also wishing for a speedy recovery to enjoy my sporting endeavors. Needless to say I was thrilled, I always respected him as a reporter in RTE. Without doubt one of the best in RTE.
RIP Colm, you will be sadly missed.

For any Irish person born in late 70s or early 80s Colm was a regular fixture in every Irish household with his sport reports on RTE & was a familar & nostalgic figure throughout our childhoods & early adulthood. Seemed such an affable & honest person fellow & I'm sure he's at peace now. God rest him.
