World and rise lance are sick and no one can tell me otherwise. Lance is more of a counter weapon. You can go through a whole fight completely untouched by a monster and stay on its ass the whole time. I love the Lance. I’ll be playing gunlance in wilds tho it looks so sick

The retention, yet dynamic change, of the salty lance commentary is just something else. 😅 Zero consistency, zero understanding of it, and 100% hate on the weapon.
Feels nostalgic hearing your gripes on the Lance, lol. I've always been fine with Lance's damage being relatively low these past few games, it's more the fact that we needed a bunch of skill points just to make guarding/countering viable (while other weapons' counters need none) that feels frustrating, and the chip damage getting out of control in the late game. Hope that gets tweaked to be better in Wilds.

I agree, I want more lance damage, but you cant deny that lance is very defensive. You build for guard up on the super hard monsters. You do the same for max damage output. Its legit just focusing a bit on survivability vs damage.
I love the sword and shield, and ill tell ya why, its just consistent. You want elemental damage? You got it. Raw? Yes. Support? Go para with wide range and keep your bois up. Its just fun in variety whilst only having to learn one weapons skillset, different combos apply different anounts of raw and elemental damage so you have different playstyles for different builds, your backhop has mad i frames so you can (if you git gud) really dodge any big attack to either go for a really satisfying perfect rush (instead of mashing the y/triangle button off of your controller) or maybe a flying shield bash. Mounting is so easy and rewearding with it being able to aerial attack from the lowground uo onto a ledge, it has THE SICKEST walljump attack with advancing slash into a wall. It might be a toothpick but its a toothpick that can do everything, theres really no other weapon that does that much of everything, are you gonna solo carry that fatalis run? No, are you gonna do fine? Yes, is it gonna be fun? Definitely, are you addicted to dash juice and a fukin weeb? Thankg god NO.
One of the nice changes to weapons with shields is a pseudo adept guard. Seems to give automatic guard 5 as long as you can get the block on those first few frames. In addition, guarding attacks gives a chance to do a clash that'll knock the monster down. Unfortunately the non-shield weapons get a new adept dodge that gives bonuses (the bow restores its stamina on adept dodge, removing the need for the constitution skill and stamina drinks). It's really unfortunate, but every time Capcom buffs the weakest and most unpopular weapons, they give something similar or even better to the most popular weapons at the same time, increasing the gulf between the weapons instead of closing them. Wasn't LS's play rate in Rise something like 30%? More than twice that of the next most popular weapon. In a game with so many weapons, that's just insane.
They really said. "Heres Vergils move set. We didnt realize how much yall wanted it now here it is" Charge blade got huge upgrades. Utilizing the BeyBlade more is exactly what the Weapon needed. Sure over head into upper cut feels good. But i want moves for it.
If the shield didn’t require so many skill gems you could build more damage and then be able to heal more per hit. They can easily solve this by just upping lance base damage or by upping the shields default guard
Seeing the amount of salt generated from your Lance video is hilarious. Can't believe people defend World Lance when it was basically 3rd gen Lance but with chip damage. Evade Lancing was popular in previous games because of how bad shielding is. If Capcom mitigates the skill tax the weapon has, it would be a much better weapon.
It was confirmed in IGNs hands on video that insect glaive ariel 'combo' now ends after the first move instead of the 4th move. No more ariel combos 😢 Capcom is clipping us insect glaive mains wings

Power clashes are only done by weapons that can guard where they clash with the monster. Sadly the “complex” weapon CB got an nerf to SAED (the big attack) you can only do it after an guard/gp or aed

Being able to roll like a HBG roll with the lance out would be a gamechanger.

Iceborne Longsword moves are in Wilds. You can see them used, and I believe you build gauge with the Iai counter like in Sunbreak
