do you have to kill on the mini boss for damaging the manibus? does the biomass missile doesn't do anything to manibus?

Biomass does nothing to manibus. The minor bosses drop red missiles which damage manibus but it's one drop per boss you have to be fast to loot it. Also hitting manibus with the red missiles is a bit wonky
