Volumetric efficiency is most important with this issue. That includes carbs, intake manifold, cam, valve springs, and exhaust systems. It depends on the use of the car.
Just out of curiosity what intake manifold would you suggest for a 1981 Chevy 305 5.0 liter engine I was thinking about going with the Brawler 650 CFM square bore carburetor 🤔
600 would be more than enough. Love spreadbores for the st esp a 305

That all depends on a lot of variables?? Stock or modified engine, what cam? , carb or EFI? , 2 or 4 barrel? , auto or manual trans? , gear ratio of the rear end? , Is it a stock vehicle driven on the street or a stripped and modified Bronco for off road use? thx J

Stock 350 with a performer RPM intake with a 4 barrel holley on it. automatic 4 speed overdrive transmission. Not sure what the gear ratio is think its stock. Its a 85 C20 i want it to be a hot rod. i drive it only on the streets and i usually punch it

The longer the runner the more the torque... so why would a short runnier intake make loss top end power ?
