Glyn Thurman should have won a award for this role alone but he did so many great roles during the 70s. It frustrates me that him and many others just got relegated into TV and sitcoms or being the first guy the gremlins killed in a humiliating fashion in gremlins. Its because no one takes black films seriously. And the fact this is a small production but made it where it counts in the camerawork and makeup effects is also worth recognizing. Never knew Col Taylor from a Different World had those type of chops until i watched his movies. The whole cast is good.
Yo you're so awesome for reacting to this hidden.💎
Lou was preaching hard asf in here😂😂😂
Yea he was!!!! lol
Love your channel I like a lot of the old school movies you just made a subscribe
Thank you for subscribing!!!
Sista Girl's revenge now that would be a movie/remake i would watch! But yeah blaxploitation had some good horror in them. Even Peter Cushing who was famous for the Hammer horror movies and played grand moff tarkin in the first Star Wars movie was in a blaxploitation horror film called The Beast Must Die from 1974 playing a supporting role to the Black leads. Very different as well as it doesnt go into the usual troupes of blaxploitation and where Calvin Lockhart and his wife Marlene Clarke are the leads and heroes of the movie. That's another one i recommend.
At this point, I am all in with these classic horror films. I'll add The Beast Must Die to the list for sure!
New Subscriber! Sis I thoroughly enjoy your commentary it’s hilarious I started by watching your Mea Culpa review & started making the rounds. Keep up that good work I’m glad your video popped up in my feed.✊🏾 Sis. GNX
Thank you so much!!! 💕💕
I just watched this movie recently it was crazy. I always liked Glynn Turman, he's an underrated actor!
Yes but he's not underrated if we give him his flowers.
@@texvor6949true
I hate to even say this, but if you had asked me to name a movie Glynn Turman starred in I would not have been able to answer that. He is such a great actor and I clearly I been sleeping on his skills...smh
This is such a good movie for real. I really really really love your reaction to this movie.❤❤❤❤
Thank you!!! This one is probably my favorite of the Blaxploitation films that we've watched so far
Wow, this was a good find. I never seen this. I love watching old Glynn Turman movies. Makes me appreciate his work more!
What?! I feel like you have seen all the movies!!! lol I definitely need to watch more Glynn Turman movies, he was amazing in this!
Glad you liked it. Didn't expect you to react to it straight away. Forgot how brutal some of the scenes were so i shoulda warned you about that had i remembered so my bad . Thx for the shout out.
Thank you for suggesting it! The scenes were intense but I think they were necessary to show how evil JD really was.
I love your reviews. Since you’re doing Fright Friday I’d love to see your reactions to Vampire In Brooklyn & Candyman
Vampire in Brooklyn is on the list. The OG Candyman I do not fool with. I have major issues with that movie, so unfortunately I will never react to it lol
@@SistaGurlonFilms I feel you on that. It took a long time for me to work up the courage to watch the OG Candyman lol. I’d love to see you review The First Purge as well from 2018
Louis Gossett Jr just passed away today. Were losing all the greats. Rest in power.
I was so sad when I saw the news 😔. I'm glad he received his flowers while he was still alive. 🙏🏾🕊️
Just realised something. If anyone seen the boondocks and know the stinkmeaner character who ends up possessing the lawyer character, that's where they must have gotten the idea from JD's Revenge as its a bit similar in some parts.
Now, I have to go back and watch that episode because I think you're right
@@SistaGurlonFilms yeah it hit me when the friend trying to gaslight encourage Ike when he was remorseful what happened to his girlfriend but couldnt remember and he said to ike, you gotta get into your N act ever once and a while. And stinkmeaner they always mentioned he turned black people into N after he possessed them. Which is basically what JD did to ike.
This is my favorite revenge films glynn seeing him transform into jd through the film
I'm mad I haven't seen this before! It really is a great film!
@@SistaGurlonFilms glad you seen the film definitely a classic🔥
Just a thought. Another fun movie to do would be "Action Jackson" (1988). It stars the late Carl Weathers (Apollo Creed from the Rocky franchise), who just passed away this month. It's a wild 80's action movie with plenty of comedy mixed in too! Could be a nice tribute video 😊 R.I.P. Carl Weathers 🙏
I was actually going to react to that one but it was not streaming anymore when I looked. But I wll add it to the list and when it's available, do a reaction
@@SistaGurlonFilms yeah, it seems to be a tough one to find. I only ever seem to come across clips online 😕
Hi sis this one of my favorite movies 🎬 🎞 🎥 of all time.
This might sound offbeat for your channel, but a black lead movie that a lot of people don’t know about is black Orpheus😅
That's a visually beautiful movie. Daughters of the Dust too.
I've never heard of it but I will definitely look into it!
A couple of things remind me of "Get Out", like the hypnotism, people losing their minds. In old days actors sometimes actually be hit in beating scenes, not so sure it was makeup on her. Just saying. The violence is crazy. I think I put this movie in the "my my my" genre!
That would be absolutely awful if she was actually hit in that scene. But I agree that back in the day, too many actors were exposed to questionable treatment during filming
Glyn Turman was the right pick for this 🎬
LMAOOOOOOO The moment you realized JD was off his rocker @ the 14+ min mark!!! lmaooooo Had to process it all! lololol
sidenote: Ghostface Killah used the scene @28:29 mark on his IronMan album!!! I knew that scene before I knew about this movie! lolol
Listen!!! I was not expecting JD to be this type of spirit! I was expecting ghost dad not ghost iceberg slim 😂😂😂
Classic intro to Ghostface Killah song Wild Flower
28:29 I remember this scene I saw it on instagram I never knew the name of the movie 70s movies was wild
I saw it on Instagram too! Now it makes so much more sense lol
Now I know where flavor Flav got his spin move from jd walker
OMG!!!! You are so right! lol
@@SistaGurlonFilms thank you salute
👍🏿👍🏿
Please react to the movie ‘Coach Carter.’ Maybe this would be considered a Throwback choice!
Keep up the great content. I watch your channel almost everyday 💓🔥
Great suggestion! And Thank you so much for your support!! 💕💕
If you want black and crazy, you gotta see Petey Wheatstraw The Devil's Son In Law
I've heard of that but I've never seen it! Let me gone ahead and add it to the list too!
I love the blaxploitation horror movies
I am definitely becoming a big fan
I'm glad you're doing Black films for the month unlike some other Black reactors 🙄.I'm not sure if they are considered Blaxploitation films.. But can you do the original Sparkle or Cooley High?
Cough Cough… Double Toasted…..
Yeah i'm getting tired of that. I literally seen white reactors react to TWO black movies that you wouldn't expect them to react too but our own at least the big ones try to pretend they not black and watch what everyone else is doing. That's why i subscribing to reactors who react to a lot of black movies and not just the obvious ones.
@@texvor6949I directly requested a Black film reaction to a well-known channel and didn't even get a response. The only Black films they do are ones starting Eddie Murphy. Meanwhile, sistagurl did my suggestion in less than a week.
@@texvor6949Octokrool brothers have done more Black movies than most of these popular melanated reactors.
@@A.Light33 I meant black reactors, im only subscribing to who do it. There are many that react to a lot of black films like this channel or only react to them.
The guy talking shit is what we would call a barker, saying stuff on what he would do and even encouraging it but would never do it himself. All bark no bite. The guys who really harm women don't brag about it. What makes him a problem if they got married and had kids and he said that around his boy or girl making them think its ok to beat a woman or be beaten by a man. But that didn't happen as its a film.
Absolutely! These are the type of folks that would give advice but would not bust a grape in a fruit fight
