Because just why?! At 14:04 he sniffed his hand after checking out the one guys bite! I didn't notice it while watching the movie but did in editing! He was gross! 😂😂
The mother is acting very strange. Those workers outside, her house are flirting with her daughter and she's not saying anything. She's not saying a word. And then the guy is putting his nasty hands through the window, eating out of her pot and she's not saying a word.? LMAO, WTF. I seen this movie when I was young and I am just starting to notice all these things now lol. Great reaction and still a great movie.👍❤️😍
The mom didnt "have no reaction" to the crude guys - she watched them catcall her daughter, and watched her daughter confidently and with no fear, give the guys the "fuck you" sign with her hands and continue walking. Then we see mom again and she has a proud smile on her face, because her daughter stuck up for herself-probably something her mom taught her. Shes not always going to have a parent around, shes 16. The scene shows shes a strong teenage girl. As for the guy eating the pie - its meant to be a joke, but also, this is the early 80s. People were more relaxed about things. Im sure she didnt really like what he did to the pie but she wasnt going to throw a fit over it when she could just bake a new one.
@@merkitten953 She wasn't "more relaxed" - she'd been raised to accept creeper behavior from men and raised to put the onus on women/girls instead of forcing men to stop the behavior itself or be forceful in your disagreement. She was raised to think that was ok. And it never was.

Found out this was the top movie when I was born, lol. I love this movie and Zelda Rubenstein aka Tangina. She cracked me up in these movies and Teen Witch.
Lol you getting frustrated that she is not going into the lift faster!! They are saying I love you because there is a possibility she may not survive and the Doctor wanted to hug her too which would be completely realistic. You wanted her to sprint into that light! Totally making me laugh and I’m so glad I found your reaction channel.
I don't care what genre it is, if there is a moment where they have to do something urgent and they stop to embrace; my anxiety gets activated 😂😂 I get so stressed lol
Interesting note: the skeletons in the pool, were in fact real people. It was cheaper and more cost effective, to not have to get fake ones. I have several years on you in age, and have loved horror movies since I was a little little kid lol. Great reaction madam, made a new sub out of me!
@@SistaGurlonFilms It was based on a true story. For the real version of events, watch Grave Secrets: The Legacy of Hilltop Drive,or read The Black Hope Horror
Listen!!! People really tried to rationalize the dog situation to me like, I know what I experienced, and that was creepy! When I tell you she was barking in distress and was relieved when she saw me...something paranormal absolutely happened
You crack me up! However, I disagree with you about when Tangina told Diane she would have to do anything she asked, even if it comes contrary to her beliefs. I don't have children, but I would for sure agree with anything to save them. I think if there is really a God, he would understand. And the red goop is supposed to be ectoplasm, like the green stuff in Ghostbusters. Tangina spoke of a membrane they had to pass thru to reach the other side
Ectoplasm! That makes a lot of sense! Thanks for the clarification! Now I would absolutely not agree to anything because I might mess around and be like Rosemary in Rosemary's baby and get impregnated by satan and birth the antichrist. Unlikely, yes...but I can't rule that out 😂😂
Though the movie never directly states this, I believe the reason the Freelings are the only family affected by the spirits (even though all 300 acres of the neighborhood is built on the graves) is the following: Steven is the top agent at the company that built their neighborhood. There is a book version of this that further implies that this house is the first time Steven and Diane have been stable. Diane is 32 and the older daughter is 16, meaning Steve and Diane became parents as teens. Because of the age gaps between the kids, you can see they had Dana young, then they had Robbie eight years later when Steven had a new job. He got promoted and was rewarded by being able to move his family into his company’s new development. Not only are they the first family in the neighborhood, but then Carol Anne was born in the house three years later. The ghosts are not haunting the house but they are haunting Carol Anne. Since the doctor says that only houses can be haunted, Carol Anne is targeted by a poltergeist which is actually a collection of spirits and not just one. Carol Anne being born in the house is not only why the spirits are after her, but it’s also why the spirits are only able to break through to Carol Anne once she is old enough to talk. They were patiently waiting for years while the family lived there, and it’s also possible that digging the pool is what really triggered all this since it broke the seals of the deceased.
"Cuz it's the 80s." Girl, you ain't never lied. That's the answer to almost ALL of the human fuckery in this flick! Mother watches as teenage daughter is catcalled in own home? Cuz it's the 80s. Putting small child in cab to travel to grandma? Cuz it's the 80s. As a child born in the 70s and raised in the 80s, this is how it was. I love my Gen Z friends, but they could never.
Man do I remember those days when the star spangled banner came on, yup it was time for bed. Like when the street lights came on you need to have yo ass in the house. Watching the streets disperse and empty. Ok 80’s baby…I’m out of the ‘84 tribe. “I too have regretted the faces I’ve sat on.” Lmao yo, I can’t with you yo…I just can’t. The family was getting all types of warnings signs. Should of done like Roger(Night of the Demons) and got the F up out of there. All the dark energy this movie had and all the stuff that went into it… the tragic and violent deaths of the cast… 😂😂😂 you told me I was in for a treat…I’m only 8 mins in and it’s all I expected and more. You’ve been all in and invested so far and I can’t stop laughing. Yo it’s like listening to family.😂😂😂 15:00 that’s Tobe Hooper for you. Funky Fingers Productions style hit you right in the face with something that catches you truly off guard. I think they attracted a dark energy(spirit) that attached itself to the production like one did with The Exorcist. Mimosa??? Lol But you was so sure fire with it that I would have let you ride, would’ve been like hell yeah turn up. This movie was the inspiration for so many things. Total classic. Sex with the ghost could have been a movie called The Entity, also. Where a lady unfortunately was getting the R word by a ghost. Just kept taking it when it wanted, sometimes in front of the kids and all. I think it’s based on true accounts of something weird happening to a lady. But woah that was a slow tension builder, especially when the music kicked in when the ghost would show up. Yeah you have to link one and two. Because two kicks it a whole other notch!! That spirit wants Caroline some kind of bad.
The story behind the making of this film and the possible curse that happened after the fact is crazy!!!! If I were an actor I would not take any roles in horror films were demons or ghosts are mentioned. The life expectancy seems to decrease after filming 😬 I had a great time watching this! I thought I had seen this before but really had not! I was cracking up while editing which sounds weird but it's true lol
I have seen the Entity and I feel like it terrified me. I haven't that movie title in forever! I forgot it was a thing! Be honest, did you know Mimosa was a flower?? I really had no idea! The American education system fails me again 😂😂
OK, I'm with you on the many things that would make me up and move. Daughter talking to tv people - We're moving. That new house has an ominous antique mirror in the attic - we're moving. Though I'm pretty sure at that point my husband would up and murder me.
Hey girl! Yep, I remember the sequel more than the original when I was growing up and kept confusing both of them. The 2nd one has the part with the worm in the tequila and the old creepy man who was supposed to be in the first but couldn't.
