      I knew it would be less expensive than living in the U.S., but it still surprises me, at times, when I calculate the costs!

    I'm enjoying your travel series Richard. I too found Greece to be my European favourite the 3 times and i’ve been there. There's something about the Acropolis. It's like entering the portal to a past life, so I agree with experiencing “shivers.”
    Looking forward to continuing your journey with you my SC neighbour.

      So nice to hear from you, Sandra! I will absolutely return to Greece in the not too distant future!
      I appreciate you watching my little videos.
      I hope you are doing well!

    Your videos are great and you have a soothing voice and presence. Were you in media before retirement?
    Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

      Thank you so much!
      Yes, I worked in television for quite a number of years and ended my career doing video work for a university.

    Wow, so many fascinating places! Your healthcare costs seem really high? You must have a very comprehensive plan?

    • @oldaloneandfarfromhome
      @oldaloneandfarfromhome  6 месяцев назад

      The costs are fairly high, but much of that is because it includes coverage inside the United States. It is fairly comprehensive coverage too. When I am able to drop the US part of the plan, it will be less than half of what it is now.

    Love your reports! Heading to Albania on March 11 and booked a week in Tirana and Durres. Then month in Vlore thanks to you. My airbnb is listed at $400 , are there other surprise fees that I should know about? Thanks again for the inspiration

      I appreciate your comments!
      My airbnb cost was exactly what was quoted to me when I booked. (I do always choose the show full price option, when searching.)
      I'm excited for you. You will have a fantastic time in Vlore!

    Those AirBnB costs seem very reasonable. Are you staying in apartments or rooms?

      I always stay in an apartment to myself. Never in a room in someone else's space. I've been able to find some very good deals! It helps that I stay for at least 28 days. The monthly discount offered by many hosts kicks in at that length of stay.
