It says to select a WiFi network from the WiFi icon at the top right of the menu bar. But there is no WiFi icon there. There is a battery icon and a select input icon (to select alphabet.) And that's it. How do I get the WiFi menu to appear?
Hello so now I'm a little confused as I followed all the steps and selected a language and now it's telling me to select a wifi from the menu or attach a cable....but I don't see a menu and not sure where I would connect the cable at...
First of all, when I follow hole process as you have mentioned in the end after hard reset it is again asking to start with language and after that asking apple ID and password, so far impossible to do something, if I do all as you have mentioned in your video!

I had bought the new M1 version for the MacBookAir and transferred all my files to it from my old MacBook Air (impressive and dead easy Apple process) but as the laptop was to be for the sole purpose of an organisation I volunteer for I didn’t want all my personal stuff on it. i got a question, if i use the assistant and choose erase mac and once is finished and restarting the setuo process will the keychain be there? or i have to do something else to release and sell the mac?

You cant. Mid 2020 Apple installed a new m1 chip which makes it impossible to reset it without Apple id, youll need a software from a different pc to bypass it

It appears you totally bypassed anyone who has their password and assumed everyone didn't have their password? What you did looked nothing like what I see on my laptop. Nothing like it.

So mine doesn’t go into assistant and if I click on recovery assistant in the top left corner the erase my mac is not highlighted...?

No, clicking on "options" does NOT take you straight to recovery assistant. I don't know how you got there but it wasn't by clicking options.
I think his computer has disabled the file protection in the system!
