For some reason, the more often I listen to this song, the more likely I am to cry. The beauty of the melody and Su‘s performance are so perfect. The haunting atmosphere just grips me every time, and Su‘s voice gets right to my heart.
Su just killing it again. You might not get a huge stadium show but you will get that voice . When Su looks into the camera at 7:34 you know she means business. Not to forget she was only 16 in this performance.🤘😁🤘

Suzuka always wanted to be a singer (the legend says, she was born with a microphone in her hand and had sung instead of crying :p). And the two gigs in 2014 ("Red Night" and "Black Night") at the world-famous Nippon Budokan (where this footage is from) was the fulfillment of one of her life dreams. The biggest of the biggest played there and BABYMETAL were and are to date the youngest headliner ever to perform in this iconic venue!

YES!! Excellent reaction to this jam. Such an awesome intro by the Great Kami Band. Then Su-Metal just blows us away with her epic vocals. Rondo of Nightmare is one of my top 5 Baby Metal tracks to blast in my car during the commute to/from work. Awesome reaction as always BJ! Too bad about your No Rain, No Rainbow reaction, but I'm not surprised to be honest. The Kami's are absolute metal masters. "Rondo of Nightmare" is a very eerie song about a girl running through the woods being chased by... something: "It flickers slowly, appearing and disappearing in my mind. I have been reliably informed that the original title to this song was "Kill the Alice"
It was! Thematically it draws heavily on imagery from "Alice in Wonderland" with the added horror of being killed by a demon at the end. I think they decided it was dark enough so they eased on the name!
the word fangs, eyes, fountain perfectly sums up Alice In The Wonderland in the translated lyrics.
There's a line that always give me goosebumps:

As a heads up the first BABYMETAL concert of the USA tour was last night in Florida and they have a different band line up (so not the Kami band members you have seen so far). Only one people seem to have any confidence on in the new tour band backing Kami band is Frédéric Leclercq (ex Dargonforce BASS). However from those attending the band absolutely nailed and shredded it.

well BJ you hit the nail right on the head with the music, Rondo is a musical term to describe the changing notes and directions and stuff, and the story is about a young girl trapped in a repeating nightmare where she is chased by a demon and that part with piano and her singing higher and strange is her meekish request of the demon to reveal his figure before she dies.
You make me wait a long time to see your reactions on BABYMETAL, but once again it was worth it :)!
With respect to KamiBand they are monstrous, but when Su-Metal begins to sing it makes me forget that great intro and his feelings penetrate my whole body. She is the true Queen!

The other main Su solo song off this album is Akatsuki, would highly recommend any live version.
Different Beat: There are two different time signatures to this song. 4/4 and 3/4, with it moving back and forth. The song is damn near a heavy metal waltz. :)

About the performance, just can you imagine being 17 and getting out of the center of such a big stage on a freaking elevated platform after the top musician of your country just killed it, and with that confidence?!...like WHAT.THE.F! Red Night / Black Night by the way is probably the very best concert Babymetal had since today - so great source for future reactions ("Megitsune" on that stage is a BANGER and "BABY METAL DEATH" is something you NEED to witness - I don't know if they perform that as an intro nowadays cause there are Yui 'talking' parts in that song) ^^
We even tried to remove the audio from No Rain No Rainbow and still couldn't get it to load. This was the second version I reacted to of that same song. Still loved it just as much. Beautiful song.
@@BJSheldon Yeah that's because the copyright striking is done also on image analysis - the strike is due to video being from the official Blur Ray (maybe from the official BM channel too); in fact all the live songs you reacted to gave no issues. I think the only way to avoid losing the reaction is to upload it somewhere else if you have the time and will (like dropbox or the other platform suggested in a coment below) and then link it on the comments here (pinned) or even better on a short placeholder video where you'll just point to the link in the comments. I believe in this last case you'd still be able to monetize the video LOL. And RUclips can go F itself XD
Great reaction. Yes, the song is very dark, she's trapped in a nightmare and can't escape and at the end she accepts her faith but asks the demon to show himself. Su sometimes sing solo to give each others a rest and sometimes the other sing while Su is resting.
Good reaction video. Love the Kami band, those guys kill it. Boh on base with his performance always makes me laugh, he's really good and shows off a little bit. Su is amazing. This song really takes advantage of the Kami's and Su's strong vocals. One of my favorite performances. Thank you!

I always look forward to your reactions. Great job as always. As for the pronunciation, there is no BAY sound in the Japanese language. So it becomes BEH. The way 'Heavymetal' is written in katakana is almost exactly the same as 'Bebimetal' except for 2 tiny little tick marks.
I was planning to see them in Orlando, FL until the hurricane approached. I had no idea if the show would even go on or not. In the end, the hurricane barely skirted us but there were still mandatory evacuations in my area. Anyway, great reaction vid. This is a really legit song. Just great!
Rondo is a musical form of a repeating chorus while each verse is given a different musical treatment. And the chorus is indeed in 3 with a strong downbeat, that is, a waltz. The other parts do vary and even without a time signature change the rhythm keeps changing although in a multi-bar repeating pattern.
The song is about a repeating nightmare of being chased by an unseen monster or demon. In the quiet verse she resigns to her fate but bravely asks that the demon reveal its form.

Rondo of Nightmare is a song written/composed by Yuyoyuppe, who first came to work with Babymetal as the arranger of Megitsune, and much later did Karate.
Rondo of Nightmare is pretty similar in mood to some of what he did before, when he was active in the Vocaloid scene. I suggest you look up Leia for an example of his earlier songs (you can listen to the original version sung by Luka if you don't mind artificial voices, or one of the many covers).

To become a true Babymetal fan (kitsune) you need to go back to the Sakura Gakuin days. This link, www.dailymotion.com/video/x2icyer, is their first interview with Sakura Gakuin's press club, "Scoopers". Watching the Nendo tests will make you understand the girls even more.
When I first heard the song on the cd I had the same reaction as you, having that eerie feeling and not understanding the reason. Then after reading the lyrics it changes the feel right away. And that moment at 9:16, always instant goosebumps.
BJ, you liked this I think because it was different. Babymetal has thrown some interesting things into their repertoire over the years, so if I had to recommend one thing in particular that seems to surprise (and in some cases divide) people I would say it was something they did for their Legend 1997 show (not the year the show took place, but rather a reference to Su's birth in 1997 - Legend 1997 was her birthday show).
That said, I think you should react to the Legend 1997 performance of "Babymetal Death." I think you might be a bit surprised by all the theatrics. Anyway, check it out.

You need to watch Tales of the Destinies + The One (Tokyo Dome 2016) [ dai.ly/x5ggoil ] It's a marathon, almost 19 minutes, but worth every freakin' minute. It's also the way they were written to be performed - Back-to-back, together. (And the Kamis nailed it!) There's an interregnum that will blow . your . mind.

The Bebi-metal thing, it's how it was 1st pronuced in Japanese, but it was always spelt the English way not the Japanese, so as they became more popular over seas they started saying Babymetal and not Bebi-Metal, so Babymetal is now the more accepted way to say it.

A suggestion regarding blocked content. There's a video site called bitchute that is free to use, there's no upload limits and currently they are far less restrictive when it comes to copyright issues than RUclips (as in not restrictive at all). If you still have the No Rain No Rainbow reaction you could upload it there. I, and I'm sure many others, would love to see it. If you've had any other videos that were blocked, you could them up there too, as well as any future videos that get blocked as well. You could put up a short video here stating that you did the reaction, it got blocked and that we can see it on bitchute if we want. Then add a link in the description.
Several other reactors have taken this route because it really sucks when you put in the effort to make a reaction video and no one gets to see it. It also sucks that we miss out on one of your reactions because of the copyright monster.

Don't overthink the pronunciation of 'Babymetal'. All English speakers pronounce it as Baby Metal. The Japanese say 'Beh bee metal" but that's only due to the phonetic limitations of the Japanese language.

Wouldn't worry to much about the pronunciation, If you transcribe Baby Metal from Japanese what you really get is Bebii metaru . There aren't single consonant's in Japanese. so no 'Y' and no 'L' s. So Baby Metal is correct.

If you can get hold of it, try The Hibiki 17 years old. It’s a blended whisky, not a single malt, but in my not-so-humble opinion it is one of the best Japanese whiskies ever produced. Even better then their 21 year old.
The name of the band "Babymetal" (Bebimetaru) comes from the words "baby" (beibi) and "heavy metal" (hebi metaru). The correct pronunciation rhymes with "heavy metal", i.e. no emphasis on the first a as in "baby". However, the band do not strictly enforce this, and most native English speakers still pronounce the name as baby metal.
You really need to react t one of the new songs soon you will be seeing on this tour. PA PA YA! MV would be the one (or at least watch it) and if you have any problems use the Glastonbury set to showcase.

3:55 ......I really don't want to rain on your parade... but I think it's only fair that you should be warned:
.....at yesterday's first gig of the tour in Orlando, the musicians in the backing band (known as The Kami Band) were NOT the usual Japanese virtuosos as featured here. It appears that, for unknown reasons.... (temporary?) American replacements have been brought in.
First impressions are.... unfortunately their playing abilities appear to be NOT at the same level as would normally be expected in a BABYMETAL show.This is not really a problem most of the time, but in difficult songs like "Road of Resistance" and also in instrumental intros such as in this video: it is DEFINITELY noticeable.
(The vocals are of course, reliably excellent!) No-one knows at this stage whether these stand-in musicians will be used for the entire US tour or not. Possibly/hopefully the standard of playing at Orlando was just due to first night nerves....? Maybe by the time of your show things will have returned to normal..... but there have been NO official announcements about this so far.
A very similar thing happened in BABYMETAL's 2018 US tour...... fans were not warned that Yui would be missing, or that the whole show would be radically changed in appearance: with totally different costumes, extra back-up dancers etc. There was quite a lot of negative feedback on social media, especially after the first 2018 show in Kansas City..... but incredibly BABYMETAL's management appears to be making the same PR mistake again: with zero information forthcoming. We will just have to see how the subsequent gigs pan out.
btw BABYMETAL's 2019 stage outfits are a very pleasing evolution from what they were wearing in the earlier videos you have reacted to so far.

UPDATE! The Japanese musicians in the Kami Band have announced that they are recording their own new solo album starting Sept. 22nd. in Japan. This solves the switcheroo mystery! lol
Recording should only take about a week, apparently....and it's expected that they will be joining the US tour in time for the large venue Inglewood Forum date, because it is being filmed for a DVD.
So at the moment it's basically 50/50 odds as to which backing musicians you will be getting in AZ: but it's looking a lot more promising! :)

their good but typical,, you've seen band maid(which i dig). you need to see aldasious (another band i dig) these are two of my favorite bands coming out of japan right now. i found them after looking for ALL GIRL bands, and to me thats what i love about them all other bands that are not all girls are insignificant to me no matter how talented
