No matter how many BABYMETAL songs you know, the next one might still leave you speechless. :-) I love the „microphone check - one, two“ part. The girls‘ voices and Japanese accent are so cute, made even more hilarious by the Rap context!
iine and IDZ is my first exposure to BABYMETAL in 2013 and little i know me already in the middle of The Fox Hole. iine has become one of member " BABYMETAL Hall of Song Gallery " and maybe someday we can see it once again performed on stage by Su and Moa.
God I really love your reaction on this one.. 😂😂 I'm laughing my a$$ off the moment the rap break down and the growl.. And your reaction is so priceless.. 😂😂
Funny that "a box of chocolate" is exactly the way Su described their music. You never know what you're gonna get :). This song has been performed live quite a few times and it's quite fun too ! I'm fully expecting you to react to a live performance of this song sooner rather than later, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too (if not more) =). With BABYMETAL, by definition, there's a song for everybody and one's all-time favourites could look completely different than another's. For me, Syncopation is my all-time favourite song. I'll be glad when you give that one a listen :).
Thanks for the link. Yes when the group first got started it was insane. They were slowly finding their way and girls were young and full of energy and it was fun. The early concert Legend I which was in a very small venue was totally bonkers, the girls were literally bouncing off the walls. The performances from that show were crazy. Before they group had built up a lot of their own music to perform they did a lot of anime songs such as Over The Future from Karen Girls and Tsubasa wo kudasai from Neon Genesis Evangelion (stunning vocals in this one).
🤣 Ha Ha Ha , so many emotions from you in this song always expect the unexpected from BabyMetal. Liked your box of chocolates analysis of this song . Su said in her Glastonbury interview with NME . There new album is like " a toy box with a diffrent mixture of songs in there." This song is great live as well . Soon as the intro starts the crowd go nuts . Going to watch it again you and BabyMetal certainly cheered me up this morning . ( BabyMetal always cheers me up bur your reaction made it that little bit better ) 🤘😀🤘
⚡ 💀 💕 / 👍 And that's how to do EDM Dance Rave Party Metal! They haven't done this one since they were touring with The Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2017. Good job not pronouncing it as "LINE". : ) As you could hear, they pronounce it throughout the song. It's usually translated as "so good!". Growls on the first album aren't credited, although there are some that seem like Su, heavily processed. The musician listed in BABYMETAL credits as TAKEMETAL did growls on the second album. Same outfits as in the 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' music video. Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers. Moa's vest was borrowed from Yui, and Yui borrowed hers from fellow student Raura. They had the outfits on display for the Sakura Gakuin 5th Anniversary in 2015. Pretty sure Raura is never getting that vest back. : )
Truly their real WTF song. I was perplexed the first time I saw it and it wasn't my thing. However, any time I see the rap breakdown and those glasses, I die. Love your reactions! I hope to see you at the next arena show they do in the US!
Don't know if it was intentional, but I love the "Airplane" reference: "I picked a hell of a time to ..." :) And yeah, this is the one song that even seasoned BabyMetal fans get surprised by.
It’s one of my favorite. The can do anything. This is their second song. People try to put them in a box. BM is doin mg their thing. Koba metal works his magic.
EPIC! When I saw you were reacting to this....I had to grab a fresh beer to totally enjoy this reaction! You get a bit of everything...and leaves you wondering where we are headed, totally awesome and unexpected! Loved the reaction and expressions...priceless! Anyways, glad you enjoyed it, and broke it down. Keep'm coming!
"What is happening?" Everything. Literally. At once. Also, you've probably learned enough Japanese to understand what いいね means once you break it down into its two parts: いい (ii) + ね (ne).
You have entered the Twilight Zone, just go with it, virtually everyone has gone through exactly the same reaction. :-) Run Forrest Run! You need to react to one one of their live videos, truly mind blowing stuff. PS I wonder how someone, who is under some mind bending stuff, watching the Iine m/v perceives it?
Hahahaha ... good job on the pronunciation first off. You know how BABYMETAL like to mix genres .... this is 'Iine' and they threw them all in! Iine means something like "so good" (think of the thumbs up emoji and this is it). No it wasn't Su, Yui or Moa doing the growls despite their pretending to with the mics. You really need to see a live version of this (ideally from Legend 2015 at Saitama Super Arena or Metrock 2015 I think). That drop after the rap just works so well with a live audience who know what to expect and exactly what to do. When are you going to get the other K Darlings ladies (sorry, I'm horrible with remembering names) to react to some BABYMETAL? This one would be fun to see them do. OK, I'm going to watch this again now :-) Oh yeah - try 'BxMxC' next (audio only, there is no video and they haven't played it live yet).
I was Not ready for BxMxC first time hearing it on RUclips. Had to shut off the laptop & go to my car to blast it out of the speakers to get the full effect. It's a total vocal onslaught by the Kawaii Metal Queen: Su-Metal. BJ would certainly have to take a shot After listening to BxMxC. LOL!
Your reactions are great. Thanks. This video is a mix of several takes, but it points out something I think many people miss about Babymetal. They are primarily performers, not recording artists. Because they perform so much, there are very different versions of most songs. This clip shows that very well. BTW, Iine means something like, “Its good, right?”
Ive watched your reactions alot times and still loving your reactions. .now i am suggesting you their song "Song 4" ..that song is actually written by Yui and Moa ...
I second everyone else's request to do BxMxC for another unique Babymetal experience on how you can blend rap and heavy metal. If you want another great EDM-metal song (mainly dubstep), I highly recommend Uki Uki Midnight (ruclips.net/video/Fb9WpV6k_cE/видео.html). It is one of my most favorite Babymetal songs and never fails to lift me out of a bad mood and gets me re-energized (though Da Da Dance is becoming a close contender). I prefer the Budokan performance mainly because it has the Kami band playing, but also the camera work. The Makuhari Messe performance is also great because it's a smaller venue (compared to Budokan) and is more intimate, meaning you can really see and feel the crowd interaction during the call and response. However, no Kami band. Great reaction as always, and kudos to beginning to learn Japanese and knowing how to correctly pronounce iine :)
Babymetal's distinct musical quality is that each song is supposed to sound different. In each song, they focus on one particular genre of music; or in the big genre of Metal, different Sub-Genres (but in some first album songs like this one, they mixed multiple style into a single song). If you're not a die-hard metal fan, you probably can't tell many of them apart, but there are subtle differences. They take pride in actively making the songs unique from each other. Nu'Metal, Power Metal, Viking Metal, Deathcore, Djent, Industrial Metal, Black Metal, and more... and in addition, they mix in J-pop, Reggie, Rap, Classical Indian music, EDM, Dub Step, and more. - They themselves call their style of music 'Kawaii Metal', but that seems to stem more from the idea of cute singers in metal, and less from the structure of their songs. - If you want to try a new band to React to which also has a wide range of styles (and is very popular) check out the Japanese band 'Maximum the Hormone'.
Happy New Year ! Always loved your Baby Metal reactions, the BEST out here in RUclips. Good Job getting the pronunciation right for iine :) Hope to see you do more ! PS : seems like most people reacting to Baby Metal are saying the songs need to be edit or else the usual rules apply. Hope you don't cut the entire picture in picture away. It's more fun to see the clip [ even edited] while watching you react to that scene. Some other reaction videos people made just showed them reacting and the viewers drop like flies .... coz its more boring .
Yes, it was confusing at first, but if you listen to it more than 5 times you would like it a lot since the each part was brilliantly mashed together. Btw, what they are saying in the rap part is to “shake your head, take off your shades” meaning get rid of rappers shade and do the headbagging. Basically they are slamming rap by doing the rap. I love that part.
This is an interesting song for me. It ranks pretty low on my list of BM songs , but It is very high on the best live song list. Too bad they will never perform it again.
BJ desperately searching for words... Priceless! P.S.: It wasn't Suzuka, it was Yui (the growling part) :p ... P.P.S.: If you want to hear (because there is no video atm.) Suzuka rapping like a boss, listen to their song "BxMxC" from the new album: ruclips.net/video/ULqe6K2ihys/видео.html
It's hard to recommend other songs because all their songs are just so different. Their latest one is called Da Da Dance and has a similar edm feel to it, without all the drastic genre hopping, although Moa still has a little rap verse in it. Pa Pa Ya is another song from their 3rd album and also features a rap but it's from a guest artist named F. Hero who's from Thailand. The whole song is very heavy but still catchy, I think it will surprise you. But if you really want something that will melt your face off I present to you BxMxC. All I'll say is that Su-metal basically "raps" the whole song. I don't think you're ready for this song yet. They haven't performed it live yet but you can still find the song easily on RUclips. The other 2 have live performance videos on Babymetal's official channel.
What's going on is a new band looking for a vision. You already noticed how early in their career this one is. By the way, I LOVE you for pronouncing 'Iine' correctly. No, the girls don't scream and growl, but it's great the way they pretend. The outfits are still the borrowed ones they used in their first vid, "Doki Doki Morning". I always love your reactions to them. Keep it up, BJ!!!! Thanks!
Amazing reaction! Try BxMxC from the new album - it sounds like it was produced by DJ Skrillex! Also, please, can we see your reaction to Babymetal's Catch me if you can, one of the live performances. Thank you. Happy New Year!
Now you got me thinking which Japanese whisky would go best with this song. Maybe Ichiro’s mizunara wood. Not to everyone’s liking, takes some getting used to, kind of an odd one, a bit too young, kind of a weird mix of tastes, but... fun.
@IDream0fDeathbutDreamsDon'tComeTrue I didn't write the song. Do some research on it. My info comes from official sources only. And it makes sense when you watch the song played live.
Everyone is recommending the usual stuff to you. I'm recommending you do the ones everyone looks over for some reason. They're my favorites of all time next to Catch Me If You Can. YAVA! with new Kami Band solo intro: ruclips.net/video/SKxhR3zE-Qk/видео.html And Awadama Fever: ruclips.net/video/5mbx2TTAX04/видео.html All three of these songs CMIYC, AWADAMA FEVER, and YAVA have the cutest choreography and music. Please try them! Thank you. Onegaishimasu
Try "The One" next, it's kind of a tribute to the fans. A really good song and damn touching. Great react btw, Iine is a very bizarre song but it's still in the top 5 for me just because it IS so out there.
"What's happening ?" Babymetal is happening. :-) Breaking brains since 2010 ! Really impressive you got it's not Line, so many people got that wrong. Yeah, don't think Su-metal can do screams like the one after the rap either, but that one might be her voice distorted. She definitely doesn't do that live. Without a lot of training I her voice would not be keeping up performing that. The growling vocals near the beginning of the song are like 'background singers' The stage performance in the MV is a 'studio' live performance in a club, not a real live event.
...ummm (15 seconds later) Shut . up! They dropped the rap part from most of the live performances. I think they may have done it once or twice and then switched it to a call and response section. The in-joke is that it's spelled 'Line' because a few media outlets actually DID. The deeper in-joke is that it's the second best L song behind LDZ (Ljime, Dame, Zettai). Watching your reaction to the breakdown is so very reminiscent of two of the Fine Bros. react videos for BABYMETAL. Let me point you to them. • RUclipsrs react to BABYMETAL: [ ruclips.net/video/PeARpcDimx4/видео.htmlm34s ] run it to 2 : 51. • Celebs react to BABYMETAL: [ ruclips.net/video/0Irz7D-Lork/видео.htmlm43s ] run it to 3 : 11. • BABYMETAL reacts to RUclipsrs react to BABYMETAL: [ ruclips.net/video/r6UZFkrv9-E/видео.html ] Run it to 2 : 08. Those cover just the Line parts. I think you might see something of yourself in those. You still need to do Uki Uki ☆ Midnight. Check your email for the link. Strike that. Someone has uploaded a non-private version of the decent quality Uki Uki: [ ruclips.net/video/YC_Gl3gW9L8/видео.html ]
Nothing WTF about "iine!" IMHO. If "iine!" is now your favorite song with it's EDM influence, then next you should check out Headbanger Night of 15 mix. This was a special remix version performed live only twice, first at Legend D in December 2012 for Su-Metal's 15th birthday and again at Legend 1997 in December 2013 for Su-Metal's 16th birthday. Link for the second one (it was the opening song of the concert where Su-Metal is crucified at the end of the show during DEATH, so you get to see how that story starts) ruclips.net/video/LSE-GL3qgaU/видео.html Always more BabyMetal forever! :)
Yeah this was from a time when it seemed their management team weren't exactly sure which way they wanted to go with the girls and seemingly tried 3 different things at once. I don't mind the song but it's just so weird which describes Babymetal quite well but this is next level weird
I love Iine, it 's such a happy song, it's impossible not to feel better after hearing it.
Yaaaaay!!!! Not enough people love this song. One of their best by a long way :-) I'm so glad you love it

With Moa rapping again in the new Da Da Dance song, this early piece has new relevance.

@IDream0fDeathbutDreamsDon'tComeTrue I didn't write the song. Do some research on it. My info comes from official sources only. And it makes sense when you watch the song played live.
"Microphone check..1..2..1..2..Are you ready to mosh?"
A little different.

Everyone is recommending the usual stuff to you. I'm recommending you do the ones everyone looks over for some reason. They're my favorites of all time next to Catch Me If You Can. YAVA! with new Kami Band solo intro:

And Awadama Fever:

All three of these songs CMIYC, AWADAMA FEVER, and YAVA have the cutest choreography and music. Please try them! Thank you. Onegaishimasu
いいね🎵
Try "The One" next, it's kind of a tribute to the fans. A really good song and damn touching.
Great react btw, Iine is a very bizarre song but it's still in the top 5 for me just because it IS so out there.
react to yon no uta you gonna love it
If you haven’t discovered Band Maid yet I highly recommend them I’d start with their song Play
BxMxC please...
Bit of a mindfuck on the first listen, eh :)
"What's happening ?" Babymetal is happening. :-)
Breaking brains since 2010 !
Really impressive you got it's not Line, so many people got that wrong.
Yeah, don't think Su-metal can do screams like the one after the rap either, but that one might be her voice distorted. She definitely doesn't do that live. Without a lot of training I her voice would not be keeping up performing that.
The growling vocals near the beginning of the song are like 'background singers'
The stage performance in the MV is a 'studio' live performance in a club, not a real live event.
I'm learning Japanese, so I'm working hard on correctly pronouncing words. This video was a riot.
@@BJSheldon Sometimes I wonder is it more fun for you or more fun for us ? :-)
PS And good luck with your learning Japanese !
@@autohmae Brilliant question. 😂
Iineというかfine line
Please react to onedaridaisakusen!!!!!
Please give us another baby metal reaction for song BxMxC ..then you can hear Su was rapper....
...ummm (15 seconds later) Shut .

If you like that please react to their newer once BxMxC BxMxC please if you have to react to their newer once react to this first
Still waiting for you reaction for BxMxC
React su, moa, yui in sakura gakuin..
Check out black babymetal.
Next time Meta Taro!!!
🤘🐶🤘
You need to react to tales of the destinies. You Will be Even more puzzled.
Link for the second one (it was the opening song of the concert where Su-Metal is crucified at the end of the show during DEATH, so you get to see how that story starts)

Always more BabyMetal forever! :)
im running out of babymetal react video !!! i wanna see you react to sakuragakuin next?
You should really do Pa Pa Ya if you haven’t already!
I would have really liked this song, had they not put the rap part in it...
react to this song but live versión in Legend 1999 (the same of your reaction for Headbanger), The laser are crazy
Yeah this was from a time when it seemed their management team weren't exactly sure which way they wanted to go with the girls and seemingly tried 3 different things at once. I don't mind the song but it's just so weird which describes Babymetal quite well but this is next level weird
