IMO, this demo undersells this fantastic product. The designers crammed so many great ideas in there. Even in this amount of time, I bet it's possible to show it from its best sides. Unique ones. This is a fantastic realization of a bunch of fantastic ideas.
Good dedicated drum synthesis VSTs are very rare nowadays, the fact that this one is from Unfiltered Audio makes it even more exciting. Was using Drumspillage for years till I switched to Bitwig recently. Since I can’t use AU anymore I’m hoping this will fill the gap and then some!

@@Brendan-Black hot take but I honestly think microtonic is just okay. I really prefer “model based” drum machines with specific engines for different kinds of sounds. I find them more fun to fiddle with and faster to get a kit going. it’s also fun to push an engine made for one kind of sound into making types of drums they’re not intended for. microtonic definitely sounds good and has some cool features but I don’t find myself reaching for it much unless I wanna use the kit morph feature, which is pretty unique and wouldn’t be possible with something that uses different synthesis algorithms for each drum. otherwise it’s a pretty basic subtractive synth with a x0x sequencer, which isn’t so exciting to me. if I’m going to use something without purpose built engines I’ll opt for some instances of a synth with more options like serum or fm8, but nested in a drum rack.

Looks very interesting and reminds me of a Toontrack "abandonned" VSTi that I won't name here. Now question that I have is, can you after you sequenced your drums pattern, DRAG & DROP each midi pattern into your DAW and have them assigned to Battalion with ease??
As typical of Unfiltered Audio, the trailer doesn't do respect to the plugin haha. It's a great drum machine that exceeds in areas other plugins lack.

@@Brendan-Black Today I still use microtonic because for me there is no software percussion synthesizer better than this one, I was just joking, it is true that battallion has very interesting options but I still choose the undisputed winner, microtonic
