This is a big, complex and evolving topic. Psilocybin mushrooms saved my life honestly. They helped me see the pure beauty in life, and made me realize how dumb it would be to take myself out.

Substances like psychedelics when administered temporarily and in the minimum and safe dose can save life (prevent suicide), yet..long term all of them are NOT the answer (solution to the problem). self honesty, emotional and spiritual healing (done correctly) produce safe and lasting results..health happiness, inner peace

I’ve been researching on psychedelics and it’s benefits to individuals dealing with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD and from my findings, they really work and I’ve been eager to get some for a while but its been difficult to get my hands on them.

The Trips I've been having really helped me a lot. I’m now able to meditate and I finally feel in control of my emotions and my future and things that used to be mundane to me now seem incredible and full of nuance on top of that I'm way less driven by my ego and I have alot more empathy as well

As an Oregonian who voted on the psylocibin measure for partial legalization I need to say it is a great idea but the implementation is suspect. Most sources estimate that by the time you set up a session, pay the fees, get a facilitator and adhere to the present laws it could cost well over $10,000.00. At these prices how can anyone but those in the upper middle income or above, benefit? Less than 15% of residents could afford this kind of experience. Oregon needs to get real on this issue...It has been proven a valuable and safe therapy for thousands of years.

10:24 For clarity, this is the current list of counties in Oregon where psilocybin therapy is legal: Benton, Columbia, Deschutes, Hood River, Jackson, Lane, Lincoln, Multnomah, Wasco, Washington, and Yamhill. Clackamas and Clatsop, based on my knowledge, will join that list as soon as 2025.
I do enjoy OPB's "Superabundant" series, and this was an informative episode. It's certainly relevant given Measure 109's passage only back in 2020. I doubt I'd actually seek psilocybin therapy myself but it certainly has fascinating science and history, and I hope that it can be implemented safely and produce promising results for those seeking it (I also hope any facilities ensure that seasoned personnel are put in charge of cultivation and application).

APE scares me alot.. it's like you're high, but you are literally been transported somewhere, and are truly awake or something. Like it feels as if you are in your final form or highest state of being or something. same like DMT and LSD.

I have bipolar 1 and I have used 🍄 plant medicine and it has worked for me. It saved my life. I did loads of research and took it with all safety measures. This is my own experience. Maybe it will not work for other bipolar people as it did with me but just do your own research. Be safe and may we all have a beautiful healing experience.

It’s such a shame to hear that honestly. I genuinely hope you leave a small window of opportunity open for you to give them another chance someday.
The problem with drug criminalization is that it all gets lumped together and it’s all taboo to a degree. It isn’t uncommon for someone who is unprepared or entirely unsuited for such an experience to do a powerful psychedelic on a whim with friends at a party, oftentimes also at an unsafe dose. To be clear, I’m not implying that your negative experience was your fault necessarily. It’s just that an overwhelming majority of “bad trips” can be mitigated or avoided by approaching the experience correctly. Like simply picking a safe and comfortable location (with both indoor and outdoor areas preferably), a small group of vetted and trusted friends with at least one sober person, and finally a few preselected playlists of varying energy level music. I’d also recommend against watching tv or movies but that’s mostly my own opinion.

My only concern is corporatizing shroomery. The cultivation being limited to the privileged few and attaching profit to the process corrupts a truly holy experience. It should be provided freely to all who need it.

gotta update that knowledge base; Panaeolus cyanescens is the most potent mushroom on record. Psilocybe subtropicalis and Psilocybe zapotecorum are close contenders. azurescens is 3rd place at best.

It’s funny to me people still saying P. azurescens is the strongest psilocybin containing mushroom. The cultivar cup has not had Pan cyan as the strongest by quite a bit for multiple years in a row now. TTBVI variant of Pan cyan has taken multiple slots in the top 10 and remains the truly consistent strongest in the field.

I think you are still brainwashed to see mushrooms only as a drug and people only do it to get high and escape reality with no real benefit.
Fun fact: the guy who came up with AA and the 12 step program for alcoholics only let go of his addiction after doing LSD another form of psychedelic like mushrooms. I find it hilarious that he had to use that medicine to heal but then turned around and sold his idea to help other people get off the addiction without having the resource or step that he actually used to free himself. How does that make sense?
