Super reliable axle set up , the exact set up I'm going for , actually he is pretty much set up exactly the way my 98 5 speed sport will be , perfect most reliable set up , and can still haul add across country if ya want to .
You can run 35s on 4.5" lift in an xj with fender trimming. Without fender trimming you need 6.5". That high pinion Dana 44 and rear Ford 9" is the perfect set up for a cheorkee. Beefed up on 35 spline axles you can run 40s and never have to worry about breaking. 1 ton axles are overkill on an xj imo. Better to keep it light and high clerance
Those tires and wheels are awesome! I am hoping that I can fit them on my Ford Expedition. Just got a Icon Suspension put in and now we gotta do some modifications this weekend to see if they'll fit
I had a 1998 XJ. Miss it like you wouldn't believe. I swear if I had a time machine and could go back to 1998, my 2020 Grand Cherokee Altitude would be traded in for a brand new XJ. I'll live with the loss of 100hp.
I have the jeep, just need all the parts haha ( altho when they come to the uk they get fitted with an immobiliser that's goes wrong which it has and experts are struggling ) :( she might be gone soon
Nice build but the sliders were done wrong. Gonna be hard to slide over a rock or tree when the brackets are welded to the bottom of the sliders and stick out. Should have been mounted to the back of the sliders
I’m nit a mechanic. I’ve just been internet shopping for an xj. And that didn’t see right to me either. At 6.5 inches lift, it might nit be necessary to slide often if ever. He knows what type of terrain he’ll encounter. I think it’s so random rock doesn’t dent it but he’d back off if it were too big to cross. Also it’s aesthetics.
TEST LIGHT.....UNHOOK THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE.....CLAMP THE PROBE OF THE TEST LIGHT TO THE BATTERY POST.....CLAMP THE ALLIGATOR CLIP OF THE TEST LIGHT TO THE BATTERY CABLE. IF THERE IS A DRAW THE TEST LIGHT WILL BE LIT UP.....PULL ONE FUSE AT A TIME.....WHEN THE TEST LIGHT GOES OUT YOU HAVE FOUND THE CIRCUT THAT HAS AN ISSUE.
I have 31x 10.5 R15 Rusty's 3in advanced kit. With a 3/4 spacer in front. The rear springs are 4 in in the 3 in kit. 1.5 wheel spacers and a little trim on the front plastic and they fit good. the stock 3.55 gears turn them ok.
About how much would doing something like this cost. i bought an xj as my first car and am saving up to build it. i have plans to rebuild the 4.0 and jk44 swap it but i dont know how much it would all cost

XJ is one of the few vehicles that can make a cheap set of steelies look great!
Steelies are made for this kind of classic rigs
Great comment 👍
That is NO lie.
Very classy build, I love it. I think a roof rack and some lights would really add some character. The flat top looks awesome too though.
That tnt custom truss for the 44 looks good
yes! xj’s getting love now!

Next video should be a breakdown of costs, I know a lot is custom but things like tires, wheels, disc upgrades etc could be covered for us noobs!
Yes complete jeep noob! Cost breakdown would be amazing!!
I have a similar-ish build that I could do a cost break down for you if you want. You can see my Jeep on my channel.
I like those rockers I made some out of 2x6 3/16" that are tied into the frame rails with 3" 3/16 square stock .
I want to do that to my sliders to get more ground clearance but I would definitely add a rub rail to them.

I need all that.
I'll sell you mine I got it on offer up lol
I got all that, and more, lol. It did take 4 years of saving and some work that was really challenging by myself.😌

Love me some XJ!
Something he could do is buy some notch custom X-Max fender flares which would allow him to run 37s with how it stands.
You can fit 35s with a 4.5 inch lift also I know this because thats what is on my xj
how u get to fit, I have 33 on a 4.5
Nice build love it
I have the jeep, just need all the parts haha ( altho when they come to the uk they get fitted with an immobiliser that's goes wrong which it has and experts are struggling ) :( she might be gone soon
Nice build. Looks like it leans to the passenger side (kind of like ours does these days).
It’s a xj thing for some reason they always do🤷🏻♂️
Man I wanna fix my jeep death wobble and just have it running. Sick xj
No sway bars? How does it ride on the highway going 70+ mph?
For some reason I doubt this rig will ever spend much time on the highway
Im sure fine on the highway. Its taking the curves at 50 that might be a problem XD
I dont run them on my zj and its lifted just as tall, handles fine on the highway
No sway bars on the front or rear of my ZJ. Never had issues
I have 6" lift on 35s no sway bar, does fine on the freeway and on turns. I'm more curious how he's driving with no steering shock dampener.
okay @TrailBuilt Off-Road i need the list of evrything done to this jeep so i can do this to mine!!!!!!!
very cool...
my next car...
i love it, maybe i have the car like this some day...
Bismillah....
You will, don't worry. Yes, I'm spoiled, but at least I'm aware of it. You'll build one better than this for sure.. .
Why run a lunchbox locker when you could run a spool (which is cheaper) in the front and just lock/unlock the hubs?
klicklicklicklicklic
Stunning beast
Shit looks great man
Does he have a cost build sheet?
Well I can assume from everything I did to mine it's around 12k to 15k not counting what he paid for the jeep
After watching, I want cry now .
Would love to know what he used for the steering system.
Have a 87 Comanche and would like to do the same lift system
It looks sick 👌 I love it
What was the final pricing?
4.5 inch lift will do 35s
Nit-picking here but the Germans say "Bill-sh-tine" not "Bill's Teen". I have the Bilstein's on all my rides (car and jeep) :) Keep up the great vids!
我还是喜欢92 款 cherokee XJ
It is perfect

Very nice build what shock setup are you running in the front.
I have a 98 Cherokee , has a parasitic draw from battery... Looking for options to fix this problem

E uma maquina incrivel
This is a great project but it's need fenders
Dope!
How Much $$ to build One like this
at least 12
Is it me or does it look like the back plate where the pinion is on the Ford 9 is upside down
Ford 9 inch's are low pinion axles, with the exception of the TrueHi9 Axle
Nice XJ i would go select able lockers not spool and lunchbox locker. The "music" in this video was crap.
Sorry! Madonna has some pretty tough copyright laws
how did you put 35’s on? won’t that just tear up the diffs
Those are not stock axles and diffs.
İ like that t-shirt
Check out my 98 XJ 8” Lift 35s people👍🏼
I wouldn't have gone that mad with the wheel size, 30" is enough

lots
Expect at least 8k for a nice build with armour and everything to rock crawl assuming you do the work yourself.
Those welds are terrible one good hit and they're all going to crack
Adonde latienes laconpro
Too much wheel poke is the only thing I'd say negatively
Fair enough!
So what size tires were they? LMAO
35’s
😍😍😍😍😍❤️

Nothing special ..looks like every xj budget build..
