    A Bose to B&W convert here. There was a time when I used to think the Bose Lifestyle system was the “apotheosis” of audio. Used to watch their demos in special rooms and would gasp with other people when the sheets got pulled after the demo revealing the tiny jewel cubes. That was 20 years ago. Today I listen to 600 series speakers. Such joy listening to a full range of frequencies..the mids especially.

    I believe Bowers & Wilkins is the finest manufacturer of speakers in the world. I've thoroughly enjoyed my 804s, my Zepplin, and my headsets. I chose their headset over the Bose after testing both and finding the B&W to be better to my ears. I am looking forward to filling my TV surround sound need with B&W with the Formation system as it is compatible with Apple's AirPlay 2, which is good. Their dedicated Mesh system for this sound is promising but I am waiting for B&W to add the option for HDMI eARC connection to the back of the Bar. I would like this extra bandwidth to allow for more speakers in my movie watching area for a fuller sound. HDMI eARC also allows for more than just 5.1 setups, including Dolby Atmos. This brings up another issue with the Bar and that is no upward firing speakers. With no upward firing speakers; no HDMI eARC; and no ability to add in the Formation Duo speakers to the current 5.1 restricted setup for the Formation TV experience (only the bar with 3 channels, the Formation Bass and Formation Flex can be included in the 5.1 Formation system... the Formation Duo is NOT part of that so you won't get to use the Duo to help broaden your surround setup), there is too much that just hasn't been answered or dealt with for me to spend this money today. If the Formation had Dolby Atmos and allowed the Duo to be part of my movie watching experience, I would already have a full home full of Formation products to include the Audio for my B&W 804 speakers to be included, but it's just too restricted right now. So I'll wait.... for these issues to be resolved..... HDMI eARC so my B&W remote operates my TV too; Dolby Atmos and other great sound coding will be availalbe with the extra bandwidth of HDMI eARC; then upward firing speakers in the Bar to send out that Dolby Atmos (Atmost being "altitude" or sound from the "Atmos" of your space); then finally the ability to choose the Duo speakers as part of the larger sound room of 7.1 that would become available with HDMI eARC. I get that Bowers & Wilkins is a sound reproduciton company, but they are marketing the Formation Bar in images where it sits under Televisions and these questions are going to keep being asked while that is the case. So, I'll wait.

    B&W, The best there ever was. Own a DM 1200, 703s and a Zeppelin. I love the principle that the best speaker is not the one that gives the most, but loses the least!! @@bowerswilkins Hello, that very understandable and obvious you are a business at the end of the day, it wouldn’t make sense for you guys to keep producing something you don’t sell anymore. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to upload a schematic for the Zeppelin boards to help some of us trying to keep something of this quality alive ? I’ve around 10 speakers all with failed main DSP boards from the full range of the Zeppelin series that I’m stumped on with the digital processing side of things and certain parts that I can’t identify, I can’t get them to get working again after the amplifier section breaks down basically the only way is to replace them with a known good unit. Working boards I heatsink all ICs and power devices that get close to close to 30 degrees during in operation, they will never fail and can be ran at max volume all day with out the unit going into thermal shutdown.
      It’s a shame I love these speakers your engineers did a brilliant job on pretty much everything, but I understand how business works. When I can afford too I will be buying some new B&W kit, as I’ve never heard anything which has as warming sound as the products B&W produce. Thanks for the reply anyway, if you want I’ll remove both comments I don’t want to be seen as slandering or slating your products because they are definitely worth every penny and are brilliant quality. I guess you can’t win at everything in life though 🙏

      @@MrReeceyburger123 if you search the Web you'll find a certain French man that can help you out. This is a very known fault of the Zeppelin Air and B&W know very well. Our Air broke down after 1 year but they would have none of it. Pitty cause it's still a brand new speaker that's useless but looks great nevertheless. It's a shame to bin it. Upgraded to the Wedge despite the poor customer service now and I love it.

    Dear Andy
    May I please respectfully ask why did you guys in B&W decided to intentionally omitt the touch volume control in PI7 app when practicality every other touch control is included in this app and then you guys lock the app so it can not be customised, I mean seriously what gives?
    Is there something you guys have against the volume control in PI7 ?
    It's like being given the best T-Bone steak in town in a high class Cafe and then being asked to go to the kitchen to ask the head chef for salt and pepper should you want some more God forbid.
    And the finisher is, that after patiently waiting so long for the PI7 and pre-ordering the PI7, this feels like getting a kick in the guts for indiscriminately supporting B&W.

    • @bowerswilkins
      @bowerswilkins  3 года назад

      Hi Anarkan, as Bluetooth headphones, the source device itself will offer volume control via the volume buttons on the handset itself, so freeing up the touch sensitive pads on the ear buds for functions that would normally require the phone to be unlocked and accessed directly. This allows direct access to ANC and Voice Assistant features as well as basic play/pause track forward/back and call interaction, whilst keeping overall operation simple.

    P13 headset-Terrible product- terrible company policies!
    This headset after barely being used, did not take any charge anymore. Well known defect of this very product according to other reviews. Contacted Bowers. Needed the receipt and box in order to return it! My two businesses buy 1000+ products every year. I would have to rent a storage unit to store all receipts and boxes, and then it would still take hours to find a single product that was purchased within a multiple purchase at a store such as Costco where I bought it. No slack on Bower's part! Even though it is well-known by now that the product itself is faulty. A car company would have issued a recall!
    Good news:
    Bowers lost me for good!
    Costco won me forever!
    Costco was able to track my purchase in seconds and issued a full refund after seven months, without the box or charger cable.

    You really need to go back to more evenly voiced systems, like the original Nautilus 800 series, the CDM1NT, and similar designs. The current offerings are just voiced and engineered very poorly, with a huge midrange suckout and the tweeter far too hot, sounding unbearably shrill and shrieky, like a teenager gone wild with a graphic equalizer. I used to really respect and love B&W designs. Now they're just overpriced, shrill, and shouty, even worse than Klipsch bookshelf designs
