What makes I’m with You great is Lauren’s vocals. Absolutely nailed it. Is it better than Avril’s? No, but it’s close. Go listen to the original. The strings, her vocals, the guitars.. damn good.
Killing moon not gonna lie I prefer the original. Hard to replicate that one. An 80’s delight,
That brings me to Cry Litter Sister. Heard this back when the release it with the Nightbooks show on Netflix in 2021. I grew up on lost boys. That song always resonated and fit perfectly with the movie. But this cover, can you believe it? It’s EVEN BETTER!!. Like top notch. This is the version now for me. Gerald McMahon’s original is great. But CHVRCHES nailed this one. It came out just after Screen Violence and continued the vibe from that album perfectly. Add it to your CHV favorites playlist ASAP
"At Night Like This" by The Cure is a song I could picture CHVRCH=S covering where the repeating arpeggio is one of their cool synth sequences. Bass synth would work as well for the bass line.
