Tonights video is from a previous video when I created some trees by accident! Tonight I was seeing if I could create the trees on purpose and produce a painting I was happy with! Let me know what you think! Should I have stopped sooner? Happy painting everyone!

Love
I love how this turned out, but usually I overwork it, like your trees and then all of a sudden I have mud. Good Job. Came out perfect.
yes awesome
AMAZING !!!
I love how you experiment with watercolor. This painting is gorgeous! 😊
Wow. You make it look easy Scott. Nice job.
I see a tornado that is whipping leaves around. To be so deadly it is amazing to see how it bends and molds Mother Nature. Beautiful. I liked the first but the second layer really puts it into perspective.
Loving your style. I have learnt heaps
Thank you for sharing, Scott- what a fascinating technique!
Always enjoy watching you
Beautiful. That was fun to watch. I'm inspired...
Thanks Sharye! Happy painting!!! 👍👍
simply gorgeous!
Love your work
GENIAL...!!! MANY THANKS...👏🎶📽️🖌️🎨
It's been a while since I watched one of your amazing videos. Oh well, you know how it goes down the watercolor rabbit-hole in RUclips land😅
I've been getting back into some abstract landscapes lately, so your channel was the best place to go for inspiration.
That "bubble" bit probably would have had me chucking more paint and water at it, but then the beautiful light on the left would have been almost obliterated. It's a delicate time in the painting process to make rash decisions! Sometimes we just have to let it go and look at it a few days later.
I love the intensity if colour you achieve wheb using paints straight from the tube. That spray bottle witb adjustable nozzle is perhaps what I need. I have an atomiser, but it's hard to control and the different spray bottles I have don't seem to adjust the spray in gradual steps, so they are unpredictable. I see you test it first on your hand, away from the painting, which is a great tip - it's common sense really (which sometimes escapes me when I'm in the zone of painting like a mad professor in his laboratory...).
Loved watching the paint “crawling” into thin branches. Very dynamic video. Thx Scott. 🥰
I agree, Alicia! 😬
Hi Alicia! I know it does kind of crawl into the wet areas in almost an slice kind of way! Pretty amazing! 👍👍
Thanks Sue! 🙏
@@ScottSwinson I really enjoyed your whole process colors etc. 🥰
I watched this video to the end, but will be watching it again. I think Scott you are an innovator, explorer, and experimenter. Please, please don't say you're cheating sir! What you do is so encouraging for folks like myself and if you've borrowed a technique from an another or your using tools that aren't typical in the world of painting you're expanding my knowledge and learning. I'm sure many others would agree. Have a great day! 🙂
Hi Julie! Thanks! I really do love exploring what is possible with this medium with the aim of expression! Glad you liked it! 🙏
Oh dear..I liked it at the halfway point! This is the first time you haven’t changed my mind! Lol! Love to watch you create, Scott!
Hi Patsy! Yes it was very interesting at that point! lol
Thank you
The darker values in the second layer really made this come together. I would never have had the courage to do that! Thank you Scott, beautiful and evocative as always.
Thanks Louis! Yes I think it was a good move but when I was editing it I also liked it right at the beginning at about the 5 minute mark!
Thanks, Scot. Wonderful. Looking forward to more.
Aah loved this Scott. I love how the painting kind of paints itself, and watching the paint move across the paper, with a bit of help from yourself of course 😉🥰 thanks as always 👍
Hi Alison! I agree! It is amazing some of the textures that are achieved on the page! I could never have painted them! 👍👍👍
Beautiful....Hi Scott from Madrid
Hi Begona! Thanks! Would love to visit Madrid one day!
I love this sort of semi-abstract painting!
Thanks Gwenyth! Me too! 🙏
Using old towels would save you a hole lot of cleaning up. Your art is inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
Yes that would be a good idea! I should get a few old ones! 👍👍👍 glad you enjoy it! 👍🙏
I have to laugh Scott, when you start moving the board about I find myself doing the same with my iPad! Thanks!
Love this. I'm to scared to even try it. But, it's beautiful
You're always making fun games, you have great ideas, but you're not sure what you're going to get, so the process becomes fun, you're good at sharing, I'm having fun watching it, I I like random works, however, I always draw very restrained. You will inspire me, relax, relax is the best state of drawing!
Hi Charley! It is great to enjoy the process of painting and exploring! 👍👍👍
yum yum YUM!
Thanks Jayne! Good enough to eat hey?! Lol
Absolutely amazing!
Love your style, thanks for your inspiring art!
Thank you! Beautiful!
No worries! Pretty cool technique and end results!
Gorgeous! Love the way the water creates those beautiful marks on the paper. Another beauty. xx
Thanks Marilyn! Pretty cool! 👍👍
Very expressive! I like the colours and the structure. More of this please.
Hi Rohi! No worries! 👍👍
Lovely Scott
Thanks Doris! 🙏
Amazing work Scott! thank you for sharing your talent.
WOOOW amazing love it
Thanks Lone! 👍🙏
Wow, Scott, you really pulled off a great painting...I thought after your first layer that it was going to be an adequate piece. But that second layer really gave it depth and contrast. Well done.
Thanks David! Always interesting to follow a path and see where it goes! 🙏👍
This is sensational
Really, really cool, love it! Thank you for sharing 👏🏻💙
Hi Ingrid! No worries glad you liked it! 🙏
Such fun watching you explore this technique. There were moments earlier in the process where ‘your choices, water, paint, and paper’ coalesced into these beautiful forms. I didn’t want you to paint over them, but I guess you couldn’t hear me. 😫 😂 If you had listened, that would have been the end of your exploration. And I love how the painting turned out. When you showed the final painting, I wondered when the little baby dragon made of mist on the left side had formed. It completed the painting and gave it a narrative. 🐉 Wonderful! You’ve inspired me to play with this technique. Thank you Scott!
Hi Evangeline! Thanks for watching and commenting! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! 👍👍👍
Truly fabulous, evocative!
Thanks CC! A pretty fun process! 👍👍👍
Love this so much
It’s pretty cool isn’t it! 👍👍
Wonderful!
Thanks Dan! 🙏
I definitely think it was improved Scott. I have never managed to get effects I imagine. You do! I try too hard. Love abstract but it is hard to achieve for me a beginner!
Hi Gretel! Yes you are right it isn't easy for beginners! Good to start at the start and do things on a smaller scale before diving into large abstract style landscapes!
Amazing work my friend! Just let the water do the work for you, right? Thanks for sharing!
Hi Marcelo! Thanks! Yes I do love letting the paint do the work! 👍👍
Veličanstveno ❤
You make it look so easy 😎I like your style
Thanks Carola! 🙏🙏
I like this work, it`s bold of you to venture into this style . . .One can slip from a wonderful non-objective look to a more
illustrative, 'graphic novel' -type result, walking a thin line, between both concepts. . .
Very good sensibilities at play, here . . .
Hi Mark! Thanks! I do love the covers of many of the fantasy novels!
@@ScottSwinson Thanx, as do I, beware of the commercial aspects around the corner, huh ? wish you well . . .
Love it. Wonder what some salt would have done?
Wow, loved those effects you got! In the beginning, I thought you could’ve made that one spot into a bird, then add a couple more towards the left, but I do love how it turned out.
Hi Kathryn, thanks! Pretty amazing process that you could never paint! 👍
Olá, Scott. Adorei sua aquarela!!!! Poderia dizer qual tipo de papel você usou? Parabéns!!!!!!
Hi Carmen! It is in the description. I use Rives BFK etching paper, white, 280gsm. Glad you enjoy the watercolour videos!
Those trees at about 6:30 are magical!!!
Did you wet the middle or bottom of the paper first?
Hi Julie! yes! The top and bottom were wet first! 👍👍
Hermoso,cómo logras con la mancha una composición
Thanks Sonia! Yes some interesting pigment movement! 👍👍
這個我試著學習做一次....失敗收場...
看來不難的方式但實際上不好跟隨老師練習啊...我放棄了..欣賞就好!😁
I think that when you have use this way painting you let it dry without hairdrier
I agree! Much better that way! 👍👍
Interesting. How these watercolors look when bone-dried? There is a substantial color shift or loss of contrast? Thanks for the video.
I’m also working on abstract watercolor landscapes and find your work inspiring! I loved it before you added the second layer and in a different way after the second layer. Gorgeous! What did you end up doing about the watermark?
Hi Donna! Thanks! Yes it is great to work and explore in this area! I have not done anything about the watermark yet as it was only painted on Tuesday! I’m waiting for it to dry fully as the big blobs of watercolour take a long time! Then I might spray it out! 👍👍
Scott are you using acrylic paints
all what you did is ok.No,you should'nt stop earlier. As to me, I began like you and I went on my way?I like this style without painting anything with my brush.
Thanks Sandrine! Hope yours went well!
@@ScottSwinson always very well with this technical.I'm fond of it😊
🙏🌊🔱🌪🌪🌪
Thanks Socrates! 🙏
Lift it now while it’s wet.
Shame about the blob, but love the effect in watercolour.
Hi Liz! Yes! But it was interesting to explore! 👍👍
Definitely, I can't comment and stay within the limits of the politically correct-mainstream-like stream of current thoughts about art so I won't. And, of course, I do know I did comment - it was my aim.
Hi Grazia! I am sure if you just said what you would like to say that would be fine. 👍👍
@@ScottSwinson better not, I don't want to sound offensive.
The more you touch it the more of a mess it is… Doesn’t even look like trees anymore
