I can see that you truly love construction work. Having filmed all these works while you were on vacation says it all about your overall love for construction work. Great job!
Thank you for another great video Mr. Odell. I appreciate your work ethic as demonstrated by showcasing another concrete company. Not once did I hear any negative comments or comparisons to your own work. Have a great 2022 and much success in your business.
Excellent video love your work, great attitude and kindness. I feel like I have become a part of an extended family of good hard working people. My kind of people! God Bless and Merry Christmas!!
Hope you had a nice holiday! You make me miss AZ. I lived there for 10yrs and just miss the view of the mountains and all the Spanish-style built homes.
Love warching this work.. These guys are top notch how the work so fast and all.. The 1st time I saw one of those machines Mr Odell was talking about, the 4 foot & 3 foot machines. They're called floats, right? When I was about 5/6 years old my dad brozght me over to a job at midnight to help him while he floated the floor of our local church.. It was brilliant to watch. I didn't want to walk on te floor bcos my dad said it was concrete but it had all this creamy water on top. I thought it was still realky wet and that I'd sink into quicksand. 😂 😂 😂 I loved goibg onto the job at that time being on my summer holidays so me dad would bring me ovwr at night to do some finishibg work on the job. When we movwd to this area where new homes had been built there wasn't even a local shop. No school, Church or anything so my dad go jobs on all the big building jos in the area. It was a brilliant time to be alive in the early to mid and latw 1970's guys. It was the best time I can recall inmy early childhood bcos everything was new.. I probablysoubd like an eejit atm but I'm only reminiscing tbh. 😂 😂 😂 Love the channel btw lads.. Keep making these brillian videos bcos they're helping me out no end. Respect to all the guys on this huve job
Greetings from Chicago! I work in cement myself, I have to admit it you guys are an awesome team, keep up the good work with uploading to your channel, learning a lot from you guys.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Merry Christmas guys and girls 🎄 Probably won't have time to watch the entire video in one go today but hope you lot have taken the day off, you deserve it 😁 Thanks for the content 👍👍👍
At the start when he was asking the truck driver questions , it reminded me of neighbours kid in home alone asking all the questions to the airport shuttle driver hahahahahahaa
Many years ago in the house (we were living in) and were renovating and the entire suspended concrete flooring was poured, and then allowed to "go off" before that rotary machine was used to smooth out the surface. They finished that night at 2.30 am. Not much sleep tat night as it was like a rotary motor mower running in the next room!
The tamper? Yeah I'm curious too I've never seen that before looked cool guessing it's to compact it and looks like it brings the cream up very well. Probably really helps for the finisher
Theres a Rolling tamper thats Replaced the one in the video, then theres something called RATLE STICK THAT ACTS LIKE A VIBRATOR. BOTH OF THOSE TOOLS AND YOU GOT AN EASY DAY
I love your passion for concrete. You said you'd like to still be doing this, at the Veterans' age. But, curious, if you were not doing this, what other trade would you have liked to try/do? PS: Happy Christmas...
we drop the stem walls as rebates that finish 150mm below the house finished floor level. same with garages rebates if the design is to attach house floor as a complete pour. or we pour footings for garages and pour the garage floor with a driveway (after the garage build is complete) as well as another area of the house. so I find this method very interesting.
David, this was very interesting. It's nice to see such a big crew that everyone knows what has to be done next. I'm up in Maine and most of our houses are on an eight-foot foundation, sometimes they are not so deep if they are on ledge and the customer doesn't want to pay for blasting. If you haven't watched him, check out Mike Day on RUclips. He does flat work in Maine.
i would work with any of this crews hands down.... lots of prior work before pouring, crew QB owner print specs etc field progress forming laysout etc, formers carpenters surveys etc... the coordination work is a joy... what is this a like a 3000 3500 sqf 2story home slab foundation ???
@@OdellCompleteConcrete lol yeah what one you tried the 10 yet? The 2 screens worry me on the jobs you know how it is I'm afraid they will be prone to breaking
boy thats crazy thinking about working out there in the summer... thats why the muckers are so good and they don't use wire mesh.. because they would be going insane fighting it in that heat. its not so great where you are for a while too.. thats the thing about the northeast where I'm from theres only about a month where its super humid and hot and I go through a couple Tshirts a day... they should really work at night if the mix plants would stay open... i know auto painters in the southwest that work at night because its too hot for the paint.. Don't understand why they don't have 12 foot tall basements and live in the basement when it gets hot because its cooler but those houses are cheap i guess... expensive to buy but cheap and close together.. anyway nice to see how they work out there looked like a nice group of guys... maybe it was the camera HA! nah they seemed like nice young men... Well merry christmas to you and your family... stay safe and eat a lot :o)

What’s the purpose of the tamper after leveling the concrete? Thank you!
The tamper? Yeah I'm curious too I've never seen that before looked cool guessing it's to compact it and looks like it brings the cream up very well. Probably really helps for the finisher
Yes, it knocks the rock down and brings up the cream, also helps in flatting it out

@@OdellCompleteConcrete as when vibrating one can tamper too much ???

What’s the thoughts behind wetting the dirt prior to pouring? What does that do for it?
Cures it out better.
Shout out to Austin that thing is clean af you'd never think it is used for concrete daily

Pulling that water hose nozzle gotta be hard work.
yes, but someone has to do it
