Roxy over here praying her Rudy pre-order went through correctly 🙏🏼
Rudy preorder was diabolical
It's kinda adorable how Rudeus is falling back on the dynamic he had with her when he was 4-5, behaving like an attention-seeking puppy or baby duckling. He is just too dense to see that she's in love with him, while everyone else has noticed.
He didn't even notice the shopping trip was just like his date with Sara.
8:32 he did, in fact, follow his nose. In the LN in his narration before saving Roxy, he says he caught a familiar scent in the air. I do kinda wish they kept the bit where Roxy asks Rudeus if the spell he used to save her was the Emperor-tier spell "Absolute Zero" but he didn't want to tell her she guessed wrong.
One thing to point out with Paul's "two swords" talk is that polygamy isn't illegal, and is actually common among Asuran nobility/royalty (which the Greyrat families are actually the second most powerful of, behind the Asura family, which is the royalty - which Ariel Anemoi Asura belongs to). The whole reason Paul cheating with Lilia was a point of contention was because Zenith comes from Millis nobility, and the Millis faith looks down, and almost practically forbids polygamy. Norn took after her mother and is also a Millis faithful, and Cliff is as well, which is why Rudeus keeps asking him if he's become disillusioned about Elinalise given the amount of partners she's had in the past (the Millis faith is more against the multiple partners thing than just polygamy itself). Outside of those 3 characters, there haven't been any (named) characters so far that are Millis faithful. Sylphy isn't one, and she's had multiple lines already where she suspects Rudeus might pull a Paul. Roxy ESPECIALLY is not a Millis faithful, as there's actually a large faction of Millis faithful (the Demon Expulsionist Faction, which was briefly touched on in the Eris goblin slayer OVA, but is more fleshed out in the LN) who hate demons and want them expelled/purged. Paul isn't morally against polygamy, the reason it's a problem for him specifically was because he promised Zenith he wouldn't chase after other women, which was Zenith's stipulation in order for her to accept a relationship with him.
Poor Roxy has no idea Rudy is married and Rudeus reveres her like a goddess so he has no idea she has a crush on him. Awkward...
It's been 11 years since Rudy and Roxy see each other last, its normal to not recognize a 16 year old if you last seen him while he was 5 imo. Especially if you just spend a month trying to survive.
She be fine not going spoil but she be fine if didn't get paul who two swords point which is a anime only but good accent to ous novel readers he was talking about it okay having two wifes I'm novel reader she be fine lol
@@rimurutempest9733 you don't need to be a novel reader to understand what Paul was saying lol he was pretty obvious
@@meliotablet well some people been blowing there minds from what i seen in other vids in comments and ignoring what Paul said just idk why it so bad be polygamy it's normal for there world i swear people project there morals to much
That scene of paul talking about having two swords and insinuating something ( we all probably know what) is pretty funny.
Paul's lines of his swords was an anime original line, and it really nailed it for hinting what he wants to say. When I was reading the LN of this part, I had no idea what Paul was saying.
Kyle: "im fine with one sword, but keep this other one saved in the shelf... just in case..."
Christine's look: "NANI"
Unleashed kyle is best kyle lmao.
😏
next sunday is father's day, nothing better than Rudy spending Father's Day with Paul
You bastard hahaha
XD T_T XD
👀👀👀👀👀👀
As a novel reader this episode was nothing but perfection I don’t think it could have been any better 10/10 episode 😮💨💯
ya they really did it well. im very happy. wish the whole season was like this but ill take what i can get
The next episode is called "Parents" and is been released on Father's Day. similar to how Sylphy being pregnant was on Mother's Day. This is also one of the reasons why they took a week break
👀👀👀👀
Is it father day in japan?
Is it father day in japan?
I love how Paul gave Rudy exactly Paul like advice
Well Roxy haven't seen Rudy since he was five, it would be a bit weird if she recognised him without anything to go by, she hadn't even seen Paul's team and that Rudy was part of that when she failed to recognise him~
Fair enough.
19:07 even the subtitles are saying “nope, not a thing” 😂😂😂
Also wanted to point out that the "curse" that would keep someone who had a near death experience in a labyrinth from going back in if they didn't go back in soon enough might be an actual curse, as labyrinths are actually created from caves/tunnels due to a large amount of mana. So aside from the PTSD, there could very well be an actual magical phenomenon behind it.
I would believe it if they said it lol.
Lets remember that there is not Instagram in this world. Roxy hasn't seen Rudeus since he was 5 years old. No one would immediately recognize anyone after 11 years without pictures or live update on their appearance such as in social media. I know i wouldn't
Never seen a movie where a parent is separated from their kid for years and years and still recognized them? It happens in reality, but Even in our reaction we mentioned her memory could be fuzzy because of being tired and traumatized... A month alone, surviving and all...
@@TheGenreVerse It can happen but it won't commonly happen to be honest. If you were to summon up some kid I knew 15 years ago I'm almost certain I would have no idea who they were today by appearance. Unless they look very close to how they looked in the past.
@@TheGenreVerse the only information Roxy knows about rudy is he is learning magic in ranoa.
Not only rudy appearance change greatly since roxy met him.
She probably doesn't think she will meet rudy again, because normally it will take years for him to come from ranoa to raphan.
What’s not on his mind isn’t that he has a wife, but that he doesn’t think it’s relevant because he’s not currently thinking of Roxy in THAT way. He reveres her in a godlike way. He puts her on a pedestal because of the things you mentioned earlier about how important of a person she was to him in a genuine and non sexual way. Even if he would consider that kind of relationship with her, he doesn’t consider it a realistic possibility on top of the fact that he considers himself a faithful and married man. He’s determined not to cheat on Sylphie. Doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen, but he doesn’t want to. He wants to be better than his father and he never wants to hurt Sylphie.
in the novel paul ends the conversation after the "you were going to lecture me?" "yeah something like that" they added the sword analogy to make what he was talking about more obvious i guess
Something that isnt to explicit in the anime but Rudy is obsessed with Hygene if the the occassion allows it. He despises his old self and tries everything to keep himself fit and in check.
Thats also why he developed such an "obsession" with bathing now.
If it weren't so expensive, I'd love to shower 3x a day sometimes lol
Roxy is too amazing to be left on a shelf in reserve! She is awesome, would hate to see her lonely and alone.. She's already gone FIFTY years! lol
😆
Paul's sword speech is an anime-only addition. It puts things into perspective, and it also has additional layers to it.
First, the only school of swordsmanship that has duel-wielding techniques is the North God Style. Paul refused to teach it to Rudeus since he thought the whole style's cringe. But now he's rocking it.
Second, the "lowers party morale" part is now directed at Roxy, as her finding out Rudeus is married at that point would break her heart.
Third, he is giving his approval to Rudeus to marry two (or more) wives. He knew of Zenith and Lilia educating Sylphie to be Rudeus' eventual wife, and she is now married to the boy; he gave his approval to Philip to have Rudeus marry into the Boreas family with Eris before TP1; and now he sees Roxy hopelessly in love with Rudeus.
Fourth, Lilia is his second wife. Despite her "secondary" role (by her insistance), he sees her as an inseparable part of his household and the mother of one of his beloved daughters.
It's no exaggeration to say that Roxy's time in the Greyrat house was a life-changing experience for her. It served as both a romantic and sexual awakening for her.
If you read her manga (the beginning pages and a few in-betweens spoiler-safe AFTER this cour), she'd shied away from either for her entire life previous. She'd always been an outcast and never had a real romantic connection and she always fled any kind of lewd situation she found herself in. Seeing Paul and Zenith got her thinking if there'd actually be someone out there for her, and she developed an actual interest in physical relations. She only sat down to spend time watching on the second night of spotting them. On the first night she was so shocked she was still in blue screen the following morning: "Sensei, are you coming for breakfast?" "J-j-j-j-just give me a moment, please! I'm not ready to face the two of them yet!"
I dont particularly see the problem with polygamy if every party involved is consenting
Consenting adults can do what they want. However, I don't know many non-monogamous relationships that work. Jealousy is one of the strongest emotions humans have. Even going back hundreds and thousands of years you find stories of people going into jealous rages over their love interests.
That means, if I were making a suggestion to someone like Rudy, it would be to either be monogamous or never get into a committed relationship as the likelihood of jealousy popping up is higher then it not.
But, consenting adults should be able to do what they want legally.
@@TheGenreVerserequired all members to love each other
Seems to work for Mormons
Paul's wild but not out of character for someone who believes in polygamy.
He's tame in his old age compared to and stories from before Rudy...
Remember that Sara was almost a love interest, but she was lacking that extra connection, as she was basically just a pretty girl Rudeus met, thats why the Roxy situation feels so different
Also about Paul's swords, one is a regular sword, sturdy and can channel magic like good quality weapons do, but the smaller one is an artifact that cuts better the harder the object is, thats why the comparison flew over Rudeus' head, because Paul was making an actual point about having versatile weapons
Now, the Padme and Anakin comparison, i dont know why i never made that connection, it fits so incredibly well, if you know you know
23:33 it's true man, I keep checking the time left on this episode, especially on the last 5 minutes!😂
2:55 What would be worse: dying before you fulfill your dreams, or fulfilling your dreams but never realizing it and dying thinking you had failed?
Tough one. Generally, ignorance is bliss, but it's one thing to never know you had dreams versus not knowing you achieved them....
Man cristina can smell It from Miles away😂😂
Rudy hasn’t told Roxy about his wife because he doesn’t wanna put any worry or bad thought while they’re in the labyrinth they all need to stay super focused
3:20 mushoku tensei is one of the weirdest anime that make sniffing panties can become crucial plot.
Or giving an explanation why there is a bikini armor😂
3:47 rudy be like : my favorite🤤
Don't let her youthful appearance distract you from the fact she is a 50 year old woman
she's literally the same age as rudy if you add in his old life too.
@@jebes909090I'm aware
The characters don't know that, though. It's a 50 yo going after a 16 yo
Mushoku still peak tho
To be fair, Elinalise is way older, and she went for Cliff, who is way more innocent and inexperienced compared to Rudy. Rudy and Roxy are more vanilla at this point.
Yeah but when you live so long, 50 becomes like 16 according to fiction logic, right? In no way would 50yrs of experience be 50yrs of experience, right? 😆
@@TheGenreVerse I think that just depends on the world's setting. In Mushoku's case, we can see Roxy as young and immature in S1E2 and more experienced and emotionally developed in S1E17 and later on.
In the light novel we can get the whole chapter of Roxy POV when she get trapped in dungeon for a month.
Oh yeah its really amazing that monster also can learn Sword Style, like Water God Style i also read the light novel Monster in this series is really smart. They can use Sword Style, and there's some of them can cast magic too even until emperor class magic that's insane. Really unique compared to another anime monsters
Damn....it just clicked that rudy was a NEET or so...he prob had alot of practice with no showers and stuff for a month or more, and maybe REALLY enjoyed stinky goddess roxy more than we think 😅
Funny watching everyone forget roxy hasnt seen rudy since he was like 4 or 5 years old lmfao
He turned 5 literally days before she left him. And when writing letters she could've sworn she was being pen-pals with someone in his 40s.
I get that it's animation, but he does still look like himself. Sylphy recognized him... I think... 😆
@@TheGenreVerse She was also expecting him, since she put his name forward to get him invited the uni.
Roxy most certainly wasn't expecting him, even if she knew of Geese's letter.
God Damm now i notice how the direction style has changed from session 1 to 2 one think i say is session 1 had a better pacing and art corrections because better production
Roxy is the top choice
To the LN readers who whine about not showing the whole thing, as if the anime hasn't moved things around before ...
YEE OF LITTLE FAITH!!!
Probably a fair point... Maybe...
I mean... they still didn't really. I am not complaining about the pacing. I just don't like missing out on action scenes that I was looking forward to seeing animated. I am happy to have any of it animated, I just wish there were more. I am praying for OVAs that fill in some of the missing pieces later.
@@NogardCodesmith if it's the action you're whining about, you're watching the wrong series, go watch JJK, the character interactions that are cut is what we are talking about.
@@nikm3r I don't recall whining about anything. I have read the source material, so I am not missing any of the character interactions. The only thing an anime provides me is an opportunity to have a seiyuu give a voice to my favorite characters, and turning static images or descriptions of action into dynamic motion.
@@NogardCodesmith the fact that you don't understand you're whining speaks volumes.
The anime is not made for you, the anime should be able to stand on its own as a story and the most important thing about this story are the characters and their interactions, not the action scenes.
Well, that episode made it crystal clear that the main threat faced to possible happiness is Rudy cheating with Roxy! Roxy is about the same mental age as Rudy and they have very identical interests, and she's generally been the person whose example and memory he drew strength from when he was at his lowest state. If Sylphi weren't in the picture, I think the main obstacle to them getting together would be Rudy placing her on a pedestal (as the goddess), which might prove awkward or embarrassing at times. If think Roxy would be able to accept being "just friends" (though it would hurt her). I am not sure whether Sylphi would accept a polygamous relationship with Roxy, although the fact that we saw she remained close to both Zenith and Lilia after Rudy left (we see her around the house in flashbacks) and was taught cooking by Zenith and etiquette by LIlia suggests she had long experience with a polymamous household and may well be open toward it. Still, I think the only hope of a happy result in that scenario if Rudy refrains from cheating with her (possible succubus accidents on the way back aside) and talks it out with Rudy. My big fear, though, is that Sylphi might die "clearing the way" for Roxy, which I think would be very sad. It's interesting that unlike most of the rest of their party (except Geese and Talhand) Roxy has never met Sylphi, as Rudy met Sylphi immediately after she left.
🤔
It all be okay that's all i say coming from Novel side the relationships not going be that dramatic plus polygamy okay in that works so relax
I didnt know that was a thing in Star Wars. Really?! Padme?! Now im interested. Gonna be a star wars fan in a bit
Wait... What.
23:53 lmao
21:16 yeah that’s true Rudy can be better than Paul, in that regard 💀
We survived as human because alot of human were died. We learn from that, back then we also believe something like cursed or blessed or even we also believe a Witch. But we learn from mistakes that's how human survive. Of course alot of people died from mistakes but all the survivor learn from that.
Keep in mind, the next episode is on fathers day!
👀👀👀👀👀
If you seen demon slayer the goat tengen has 3 wives this is not really a spoiler bc it’s not that important to the demon slayer story but they seem pretty happy bc he treats them nice if Rudy does have a harem I don’t feel like it would be a normal anime harem bc he wouldn’t just be focusing on one that’s obvious I think he would love them both equally
Jealousy is an incredibly strong emotion... The best of intentions cannot defeat it.
@@TheGenreVerse Well, social conditioning and romantic expectations being met can influence that, as long as people think they're being treated fairly the won't complain, and since polygamy is actually common in this world, outside of the Milis church's faith, there shouldn't be that much of a problem if all the parties can get along well, all three Rudy, Roxy and Sylphy are people with low self-esteem which to me kinda say that they probably have a high tolerance for bs, I mean, Sylphy is obsessed with Rudy (even if she knows how to hide it. XD), Rudy sees Roxy as his goddess, Roxy is seeing Rudy now as his ideal man which she described on season 1, and they're all pretty much simps, I don't see them complaining as long as they can be together with the person they love, now whenever Eris (legit couldn't remember her name, had to look it up. XD) shows up again that'll be a shit show, Eris is probably the only extrovert among the 3 and since she's a super warrior woman probably now, and also probably not religious, she may just adopt the whole group, as extroverts do with introverts (and make herself Rudy's 3rd wife in the process). XD
So if Rudy dies and is reincarnated again, would he be reborn as a bloodhound? He clearly has the nose for it
🤣

Ya'll talk about how happy you are that they give legitimate information about how people with less scientific background would work around Carbon Monoxide and cave-ins and trauma... but then you get upset at the possibility of polygamous marriage. Wild.
No one's upset about it. It exists in reality and we're not out there protesting it. What consenting adults do that doesn't violate anyone else's rights is their own business. However, it's not for us. I wouldn't share my wife with anybody. Ever. I also don't think it's good for modern humans with the amount of jealousy we seem to have. But, to each their own.
@@TheGenreVerse I mean, I feel the same. It's not for me, I also wouldn't share my wife either. Would it be as annoying or disappointing if "Harem" wasn't already a genre of anime? I personally don't think it would be. But I just feel like in a show where it's had details like this pretty consistently, it would just kinda make sense... I can agree it's not idealistic, I just kinda feel like the authenticity warrants the pass if it happens.
We're not gonna throw the show away if they go down the road. We'll comment why we may not like the idea in a real world setting, but... If we can still enjoy moments with Paul given his past... Give us some faith. Lol
With the controversial episode (you guys can already guest what it is) coming closer each week, i hope you guys won't drop the show like other reactors. Just enjoy the story and I'm telling you when S3 is out and TP4 will be worth all of it. Think of it as a reward for people that stick around. When that gets animated with full budget, it will cemented Mushoku Tensei as modern masterpiece. It's the peak of the story.
lol, are there really people dropping the show over this? How the heck can someone get this far and decide a line has NOW been crossed that hasn't already? I'm not going to spoil anything, but what you can expect from this story is pretty clearly printed on the tin. I mean, we have genre tags for anime for a reason.
I'm not sure what we guessed but I'm sure we wouldn't drop the show. Please don't tell us anything we've guessed right though. Still wanna be surprised. If it's either of the two things I think we guessed, that wouldn't make us quit. But... Don't tell us! 😆
@@NogardCodesmithyou would be surprised to know that some people are dropping it. Those that can't enjoy the story.
Edit : Even with tags people are still surprised by how MT handles it, like romance. People to this day are still mad because a 50 year old dude married a 16 year old kid, heck even in S1 many are mad about Rudy and Eris romance stuff. Tags are just tags, we don't know what we're in for.
@@TheGenreVerseok, sorry about. Will be more careful next time.
as a water mage you would think she could rinse herself off once in awhile.
I know the anime is lacking some details but it's still implied that she barely survived and her mana was barely enough. If Rudeus was in her condition he'd probably have the excess mana to take a shower and dry himself :D
🤔
Rudeus IS legal, he is 16 years old, meaning afull fledged adult. Since adult age is hit at 15 here
I literally said I know their ages and that he's married and to just enjoy the joke... Did you try to enjoy the joke at least? 😆
ah yes rudys dense protagonist side is on full display
Let's see here
Paul with more red flags it's practically a siren

Do I need anymore of a warning anime

Imagine it is just bait for us, and all will be perfectly fine

i cant recomend enought aninew video on roxy survival
🤔
I find it funny that people always have issues in practically every episode, for one thing or another. Come on, it's the endless dilemma with all adaptations.I could count on the fingers of one hand the shows that strictly stick to their original source.
Personally, I have enjoyed this second part so far, even as a LN reader, and I think these last episodes will be even better.
I can understand people who have read the original having issues with the adaptation but it gets really annoying after awhile when some of the stuff they complain about isn't noticeable to someone unfamiliar with the source material. Sometimes it is noticeably rushed or weirdly paced and others you don't notice anything missing without knowledge of what's gone.
@@orion9325 yeah, most of the rants come from the readers, I just sometimes want to enjoy the natural reaction of an anime-only, like the guys on this channel and well... I know it's not the same people complaining over and over again, it's someone different each time complaining about something different, that's why it's funny to me.
SPOILER:
I personally find extremely cute what Rudeus has with his harem. All the wives get along and even treat the other wives kids as if they were their own and the same goes for the kids, the white mama, blue mama and red mama thing is really cute.
While I agree with what you said, I don't like how Roxy "joins".
Thanks for marking spoilers.
ever watched The 100 Girlfriends 😂 ?
Not yet. It's on the radar 😆
I genuinely don't understand what is yall's problem with polygamy... I get it, yall are americans and live in the epicenter of western customs an yall. colonized by England and thus raised in Christian values (i dont know if you are christians or not to get so offended by Paul's advice), But i genuinely dont see anything wrong about Paul giving Rudeus advice on his own polygamic relationship. This world has no christianity. Though the Millis chruch also abominates polygamy, its a fairly common in this world, as it also is in out world in places Christianity hasn't ruled.. Try to put aside your ethnocentrism for once. I dont mean offense by this but it a little tiring to always see americans or westerns in general lecturing others based on pure ethnocentrism
I'm sorry, but you seem overly sensitive to our commentary. My faith has nothing to do with the fact that I don't want to share my wife nor to be shared by her with anyone.
Commenting on Paul's suggestion through the lens of a happily married dude who is very selfish with his love is not projecting my thoughts on anyone or anything. It's commentary.
Christianity is far from the only religion on Earth that promotes monogamy, and the West is not a monolith of monogamoy either.
Have a great day!
Let me tell ya Rudy is definitely better than Paul 😜
From what Lilia said in Vol 1 of the LN, Rudy is better by a mile... So far... But he can still be better than Paul in this situation too 😆.
This is the only harem anime that I can enjoy in 12 years of watching anime
Didn't like Tenchi?
its japan... its a anime..... and Japan def love their harem
Well technically this story is set in a world where people can have multiple partners, especially for nobels. Paul himself still married Lilia once she was pregnant, so he does officially have 2 wives.
there's NOOO WAY this Japanese guy isn't going to collect all Red, Green, and Blue Pokémon
@@CamX36 Gotta catch em all!
Seems like it 😆
You say that but the amount of anime that legitimately have a harem isn't very high. Most "harem" anime is just a guy having a bunch of girls into him and picking just one to have a relationship with by the end.
Rudy your married was a something i was internally screaming all episode. Thats a conversation that will be interesting to see. Once roxy and rudy get out.
This episode was disappointing. If there is something I hate the most, is half assing things. Why even put the flashback if it was going to be that bad? The anime handled all the labyrinth and Roxy in the worst way possible, they are rushing through a lot of things and even in the most important arc of the season they keep cuting corners without a care. I really hope you keep enjoying the series, and you have mentioned reading the first volume of the light novels, you should really keep trying to read the novels, you are missing a lot, but anyway, I am dropping this shit, gonna stick to the novels
That tends to be how things go with adaptations. The novels are pretty dense. Ill agree that there could probably be improvements to give a better feel of the novel. This second core could easily be stretched to its own 20+ episode season to give all the good details that the novel has.
However, I think your expectations are not realistic. The reason for the pace of the adaptation is most likely more of a restriction on how much time they have been given to adapt it. The budget. Its not a writer's, story boarder's, or animator's choice. This studio was stood up just to animate Mushoku Tensei. Fully at that. So if they ever want to finish this story in a time and budget that actually allows them to, not having to drop it part way, they will have to be judicious in their choice of pacing.
The best way to enjoy the series is to watch the anime, and then read the chapter of light novel immediately afterward. Best of both worlds! Anime is really well done, but does miss some details, but that's the nature of it.
Sorry it didn't hit well for you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I have to agree that I found this (and last) episode disappointing in the stuff that was skipped over, but that is generally how it goes with every anime adaptation. Missing out on seeing certain action sequences animated is a real let down, but it is the compromise they make to move the story along at a pace where it has the potential to get to the end of the story in a reasonable period of time.
I would very much love to see some OVAs that cover and expand on the skipped over parts. I hope that is something we get in the future.
