Thanks for the video. For those who don’t know - you can hide “orb menu” by going under “Accesibility” -> “Touch” -> “AssistiveTouch” -> Find “Always Show Menu” and click the slider off.
There is a quick and easy way to turn on / off the assistive touch grey orb so that when you turn your mouse off it can be disabled quickly. Head over to Settings > Accessibility > scroll down to Accessibility Shortcut and select Assistivetouch. Now when you triple press the power button quickly it will turn the grey orb on and off instantly. I also went into settings I also went into Setting > Control Centre > Customise and added Assistive Touch there so you can also do this from the control centre menu.
I have a beta version of Ipad OS and you can turn off the Assistive Touch menu completely so that it doesn’t stay on your screen by turning off the ‘Always Show Menu’ toggle in the ‘Assistive Touch’ menu.

you don't see them in the menu at the bottom? you can use command+C and Command+v to copy and paste or you can also right click with a mouse, or tap and hold for a contextual menu.
One thing I’ve noticed about assistive touch, is that when I enable it, my keyboard does not work properly. Some keys will not register at all, while others do. This happens with both Apple keyboard folio and the new magic keyboard. For this reason, I have been unable to use assistive touch. Not as much of an issue for me now that I have the Magic Keyboard with trackpad, but before I purchased that I was using the folio with the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S mouse and I could not take advantage of the buttons because of the issue mentioned above. I hope Apple fixes this with an update soon.
Jerry Schulze I haven’t talked to anyone I know personally to see if they had the issue. On my magic keyboard it’s the j, k, l and m keys that don’t work. When pressed, they seem to move the cursor down and that’s it. I did mention it on another channel and I didn’t get this specific issue that anyone replicated, but they did mention that some mice can’t use all the functions they should be able to.
Jerry Schulze Thanks for the response. I do not have full keyboard access turned on. I don’t use the mouse anymore now that I have the magic keyboard, so it’s not really an issue anymore. Can i ask how does you connect the mouse so that cursor looks like that? Because sometimes the cursor looks like a dot with a circle around it when it is connected via assistive touch

I'm using Logitech's folio. Oddly, after update, the curser on my screen shows up but does not move :( Only when I turn on accessibility, ut turns on a large curser and moves. Guess I have to just do wit that for now :/ Would be irritating to select specific things on word document.

I think the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad are best for the iPad. You can use a bluetooth Logitech like the mx master or something and customize a few of the buttons, but the gestures on the Apple devices are better.
It`s Great. But there is no setting or selecting the moving acceleration of the mouse. It really bothers. It is what you can find by the name of "Enhance Pointer Precision" in Windows control panel.

PLEASE someone test this out for me: my work requires me to frequently copy text from group chats. On most app, without cursor, u can only hold and copy/foward the WHOLE text. I am wondering for say telegram/whatsapp/messenger, with cursor, when the cursor move above the text, will it change so i can select only partially those i need? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have the Enable Full Keyboard thing on. Look in Accessibility>Keyboards>full keyboard access.

You can't. The iPadOS mouse support is not supposed to be like a desktop mouse but more like your finger.

Hmm interesting use case. Would that be for art? If for just moving around apps then a mouse may be better for that.
Also there is now an option on iPadOS 14 to leave the cursor on the screen.

With the dark screen, you wont see the little dot each time. My iPad Pro is always dark and it is a “+” indeed for the mouse....
