Thanks for your post. I served aboard ship while Guam was our homeport in 1965. Many of my shipmates were natives of Guam. We patrolled from the Aleutian Islands, down to Palau in the west and eastern Caroline Islands. In all, there was a cordial relationship with the islanders. After 1965, our homeport moved when we were deployed to Vietnam.
Greetings Pulan, I really enjoyed this video! I would love to see (a) linguistic video(s) about the various prefixes, suffixes, and infixes in Chamorro, (i.e., acha-, fama'-, fan-, muna'-) and how to use them.🇵🇭🇬🇺
Your narrative will be useful for anyone who will want to understand more about long-term development of cultural identity, especially in the context of colonial entanglement. I like how you presented a chronological narrative about CHamoru identity connected with USA over the last generations, with focus on World War II as one of the key turning points. So much more can be discussed, and you provided the framework to explore more. Thank you for sharing and please keep up with your good work!
