    Next level, craft a small bedframe to set the tent over, just a couple of inches to get off the floor and put your karrimat onto, then lay the tent over that and peg down to secure.
    I reckon that'd be a gamechanger for tentmode.

    I have thought about something like this but after thinking long and hard about it I came to the conclusion that I'd always take a tarp when hammocking as I like to have the large dry space when the it rains. This looks cool though. I like how it all went together.
    I did also consider making a rainfly. For my Frontline XL, I don't think it'd be too difficult.

    • @OscarOutdoors22
      @OscarOutdoors22  2 года назад

      Hmm yeah ive thought about making my own tarp for similar. Then always bottle it...

    • @grantjones9600
      @grantjones9600 2 года назад

      I've been using one of these over the winter and aswell as the tent cover I always use tarp. You have a good dry area as well as having the hammock totally protected from driving rain coming from any direction 👍
      Good bit of kit

    Hi Scott. I used my tent a year ago in a light drizzle. Worked great. Took it apart to dry it out. I see that it can also be used staked out on the ground. I have the hammock netting piece, the covering rain tarp, and another thick black piece with zipper and vented storage pockets. I don't remember where or how it attaches. It doesn't seem to be long enough?

    I just tried my etrol pelican 3 in 1 hammock for the first time. Which is almost identical to yours in the video. Loved it. However, closing the zip when inside was very difficult at the head end. Any tips on how to make it easier Oscar?

    • @OscarOutdoors22

      Hi mate yeah. If you add 2ft of paracord that should solve it. Make it easier to shut the zip... works for me.

    I just tried to set this up. Hammock part was easy, but how did get it set up as tent? I’m finding either the polls are too short or the hammock is too wide, either way I can’t get enough height on it as a tent

    • @OscarOutdoors22

      Peg the nose out... and pull to other end. Same again. Then peg at the pole bases

    I've watched yours and Danny's reviews on this set up. Would you say it's worth spending the £110 on Amazon.? I wondered if the rain fly would sag in heavy rain, and get wet inside.

      If you watch to around 7.00 min. I think you are referring to the guy lines? Just acts as an anti tip mechanism... Peg to ground and stops the poles wanting to roll as it would naturally because of the shape and style of the hammock hope that helps?

    Nice video mate, I've had one of these on my wish list for ages, but 2 things were putting me off, 1 was they had put the price up to 100 pound when originally it was 60, but I think it's at 85 right now, and 2nd was the size of the logo but thankfully they've reduced it's size right down and made it more discreet, I think I'll go for the camo one though, and also and don't take this the wrong way but I'm always a bit wary when people do reviews of gear they've been sent for free as most of the time they are told by the company not to say anything negative, I've seen a lot of comments on reviews of this saying as a bivvy it really needs a 3rd middle hoop as the sag is a nightmare, how did you find it as it did look a lot saggy along the top ?? Cheers Mick 👍

    • @OscarOutdoors22
      @OscarOutdoors22  2 года назад +1

      Yeah exactly that... although can be countered with a guy line too. As with anything i get... ill change some bits to suit my lazy style. As the old saying goes... give a lazy person a job, because theyll find an easy way to do it. On vid was the first time i used as a bivvy tent. I could see the principles but not the end result with a little more time ill make it easier Nd stronger... maybe a ridge line between the two poles???
      Night cat sent it but asked for an honest review rather than a biased 1. Which is why i said yes... 👍👍👍

    • @Mickoutdoors
      @Mickoutdoors 2 года назад

      @@OscarOutdoors22 cheers for that mate I appreciate your honesty, ridge line does sound like it may solve it, but if I'm honest it would only be used as a hammock for me , loving your vids btw 👍👍

      Surely most people know how to put a peg in? I just used a simple cow hitch.
