Love this special! I always felt like this was a sort of Christmas horror special. I love that! Speaking of, doesn’t anybody think that 8:44 is or was creepy? I mean, the Grinch has his fist up to his chin, but his talking animation looks like he’s grinding his teeth, which, in my opinion, makes his face, and his eye movement, look scarier while he’s moving his eyebrows. So, has anyone ever thought it was creepy? I know it scared me when I was little.

    • @Hallowverse_2007
      @Hallowverse_2007 3 года назад +4

I'm really glad you pointed out 8:44 because I have a theory:
The reason we only see the Grinch tapping his cheek instead of putting his fist on his chin is because it would scare children who would watch the special. Take it from me: I've watched this special when I was a lot younger than you people. The first time I watched this, specifying 8:44, I was a bit creeped out at first. Then, I thought to myself, "It's probably nothing I should worry about," but afterwards, I started to have nightmares about it.
Then, each time we watched it as a family, which, by the way, was at nighttime, I started to have more nightmares to the point I decided to look away when it happens, like my sister (who is still terrified at it to this day). Then, as a person doing my best to face my fears and phobias, I decided to face that scene, and I thought, "This is probably not as bad as I thought it was."
So, I hope you can empathize how scared I was whenever it showed up.

If you’ve seen this, watch it at 0.25x speed. My overall reaction is 😳 and 😆 at once.
The following characters and voices of the special will be described by how you may react to hearing and/or watching them at first and/or as you progress through this video. Here they are:
    Boris Karloff: 😰
    Phil Hartman: 😆
    Chuck Jones: 😆
    Audrey Geisel: 🤭
Thurl Ravenscroft: 😰 at first, but 😆 as you progress.
    Albert Hague: 😆
    Danny Elfman: 😆
    Tim Burton: 😆
Hans Conried (Horton): A special’s a special, no matter how slow.
Mel Blanc: (Confidentially) HE IS A WABBIT
Bob Holt (Once-ler): Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, you may have nightmares, like when I was a tot.
These time frames can consist of creepy things coming out of hearing and/or watching them. Here they are:
    0:04 through 0:27 - Karloff’s Eerie Narration
    2:21 - The Grinch isn’t a skunk; he’s a nasty, wasty sloth.
    2:57 - Slow-paced X-ray animation.
    3:07 - Karloff’s Eerie Narration #2
7:05 through 7:30 - The Many Terrifying Nights in the world of Karloff,” with your host, Phil Hartman!
8:44 - Jones decides to animate the Grinch like he’s a monster of Karloff’s because Karloff voices the Grinch.
10:02 through 10:12 - Starting our first Christmas horror song, ladies and gentlemen!
15:20 - Wow, Karloff really is the Man Behind the Monster.
Once you watched the entire special, let me know your thoughts on this at this speed. You can also put down your time frames that sounded or looked creepy to you. Enjoy the next 77.27 minutes (yes, I calculated) of your life!
    P. S.: Also watch this special at 2x speed. Everything there is hilarious! 😆
