Thank you Sue and the great grease monkey gods at 1A for that chisel trick on the stupid screws! Probably just saved me a few hours of screaming and frustration.

Never did figure out why it failed, did ya? That's cause it's one of Honda's little secrets. Back brakes have been hanging up on my 2008 for the last 5 years. Clean and lube the pins. Replaced the flexible brake line. Nothing we do matters. Just give up and replace them twice a year.
Hello. My 03 element calipers' hardware from 1A Auto was NOT coated and the anti-rattle clips were harder than world war 10 to get snapped in. Any advice?

Thank you for giving us the torque specs!
She is very thorough and clear about the process.
Thanks Sue and 1A Auto! Got my element brakes done super easy with this helpful video. The only think it could have used though was more cowbell…

Oh so the new rotor from 1AAuto didn't come with the little rubber plug thingy. Come on 1AAuto. Even she was disappointed.
does the 2006 honda element have drum brakes on the rear? Advance auto parts guy just told me that, and its news to me.
There are small shoes for the parking brake which uses the inside middle of the rotor, but they are disc brakes.
It's a disc drum rotor to accomadate the parking brake shoes
Remarkable
Why did you loosen the brake bleeder?
to push the brake piston back into place
Thanks
Thank you.

That is a miracle, that the owner didn't get involved in a accident whit no brakes 😂😅.
Do you reuse the old bolts
+waje california You can yes.
remin me never to move to the rust belt
No need to open the bleeder screw never. Just push it back in with a C clamp or what ever works
+rob wells Thanks for the feedback!
I lossen the master cylinder cap and then push the piston in with a c-clamp
That backing plate is atrocious....
