Hi coach mc, I’m currently living in aus and everything you said is true, Canada is more immigrant friendly compared here in aus. Been here 7yrs and still under temporary visa. Pr here depends which state and occupation you have, but sad to say me and my husband are still waiting for our pr invite. Now we’re planning to move to Canada soon and I’ll be studying 😊
Wow, 7 years and still no PR. I would be curious to hear from more people that chose Australia over Canada, and how they like it :) If you need any assistance with Canada, feel free to contact us here: facebook.com/studyliveexploreca/ www.studyliveexploreca.com/slestarterkit
Same here! Spent 4yrs here in AU but still in a student visa status. You need to spend millionssssss here to get the PR.😅 So my husband and I had decided to move to Canada. He is in Canada now and will finish his 1year program in April, got an employer already and in May will be moving from Ontario to NS (just waiting for graduation). Hopefully this year, my daughter and I will follow and go there too. 🤞
Some changes are coming in Australia. For some "hot" fields, Bachelor degree can get 4-yr PGWP and master degree can get 5-yr PGWP. Students will be limited to work 48 hours every 2 weeks starting July 1st 2023.
Thank you for this Coach MC, i am torn between Australia and Canada, because my Sister is already studying in Australia and suggested to follow her in Australia, but my heart says Canada. Now i think i know where to.
Canada is connected to the world's No. 1 economy, USA. Thus, there are more job opportunities for international students during PGWP period. Many US companies have branch offices in Canada. US companies prefer Canada because of US-Canada exchange rate, well educated workforce, and they don't need to deal with the high cost of employee health care.
"Many US companies have branch offices in Canada. US companies prefer Canada because of US-Canada exchange rate, well educated workforce, and they don't need to deal with the high cost of employee health care." How is that different to Australia?
@@peterbreis5407 Not all US companies are like that. Many US companies like IBM and Google have offices in Canada and perform development. With USMCA agreement, Canadians in 63 professions can work in USA with 3-yr TN-1 visa (renewable as many times as required). Many Canadians work in USA. @@smwk2017 You can substitute Australian/Australia for Canadian/Canada in what you have said. I don't know why you think Canada is somehow different or special. Google Maps was developed in Australia. Just one example.
One big difference is the PR process. Your occupation shows up in skilled occupation list (SOL). If not, you have to find related occupations and hope for the best. Australia government changes SOL from time to time; no guarantee that your field of study will be there upon graduation. Upon graduation, you'll need to find work in your related field of study. Gain at least 1 year of post-qualification work experience. Then have your skills assessed by the governing authority of your occupation. Rules are different depending on the occupation and the governing authority. After assessment, then you have to deal with Home Affairs.
@@studyliveexploreca I was looking for "Data Scientist" from Skilled Occupation List. I couldn't find it. Then you have to find another occupation that is closed to it. In the end, you are at the mercy of the skills assessment authority. Depending on your occupation, each skills assessment authority has different rules and requirements.
