@@christopherdale8201 Clarence Williams III that's the actor who plays Papa Legba in this episode. He's one of the main character in Mod Squad television series.
RIP to Clearance Williams lll who passed away this year aged 81. To me this is his most memorable role Legba. Love this song and my favourite Episode of Miami Vice. Again RIP to Clearance Williams lll.
I'm not a big ZOMBIE fan...however this is one of the best Miami Vice tracks/episode marriage. The best was Phil Collins "In The Air" . Still A GREAT SHOW TO WATCH .TIMELESS..EXCEPT THE CLOTHES...🎉
Miami Vice was one of a few shows in the 80’s that used songs of the 80’s either currently in rotation or just out of rotation AND the show always had the PERFECT SONG for each episode. Tale of the Goat is IMO the best episode of Miami Vice. This episode is when I really fell in love with the show. I even started wearing Willie Wear clothes when I could get enough money from high school jobs to buy small items 😀LOL and almost wanted to purchase a Beretta but I was too young .Good times.
I’d didn’t know this, fantastic. ‘phantom living’ is one of my all time favourite Fixx tracks along with the album it resides. I need to acquire Miami Vice on Blu-ray ~ I watched it every Thursday night as a teenager and was introduced to Michael Mann as a director with this series . Sublime , thanks for posting this 👍
The song was used in this Miami Vide episode with similar effect to the Todd Rundgren song "Tiny Demons" which was used in another Miami Vice episode "The Little Prince" during a heroin trip scene. Similar songs and similar effects. Love the trip it puts you in. Check out the Rundgren song if you have not heard it. Love the fact they used Clearance Williams III to play The Hatian Voodoo bad guy Legba in this episode. The scenes in the video were of a fake funeral for Legba. Really Cool.
Jeffrey Deuitch dear Jeffrey , just reading your post from 6 years ago !! Thanks for flagging up the Todd song - I wasn’t familiar with ‘Tiny Demons’ so I’ve checked it out and the album ‘healing’ on Apple Music today and I acquired the MV episode - yes very , very good 😎👍
To me the best Miami Vice Episode with sound track besides Calderone's return part 2 with the Russ Ballard Voice's and Mr Mister Kyrie. Take me back to the 80's.
Ironically, this haunting album by the Fixx I listened to often. Especially during the years I attended Kingman/Lee Williams High School (1984-86). This school was recently featured on Ghost Adventures. The episode is titled "Lost Souls Of Kingman" seriously! I published a video recently featuring that topic and mentioned Rupert Greenal (Fixx keyboardist) as the featured artist.
Thank you, poohkie752000, for mentioning that the Fixx's CD's are available on the website. Everyone would benefit and enjoy by having a Phantoms album in their music collection. It is so choice. Peace brother. ★★★★
The Fixx, with their 80's lineup intact, finally released their new CD "Beautiful Friction" on July 17, 2012 and it's getting fantastic reviews! It's available on Amazon, iTunes and elsewhere. Check out the new tunes and check out the band live on tour with dates at TheFixx.com. Thumbs up to keep post on top!
@TheLacoste24 I love this episode/ And also it's based on a real haitian voodoo called "papa Legba" that's has been taken in Miami underwold haitian drug industry in the late 70s as a Name attached. The graphic ''white and black'' still appear in some areas if u wander in Miami nowadays..
The Phantoms' album is not available on iTUNES, and I get an error message trying to search lyrics, THEIR LYRICS are lancinating - and THIS song is my favourite, haunting and sad.
one of the greatest rock bands of the 80's sorely underated..miami vice great series!!!
They came into a crowded 80's room my favourite band ever seen them times live got tattoo on my arm
One of my all time Miami Vice favorites!
Same this my favorite miami vice episode i love the music and all the themes even thou the actor that plays Legba freaks me out.

1985, when Don Johnson was on top of his game.

This track is hard and smooth at the same time. Love the beat, the gap reminds me of Prince's Purple Rain.
To me the best Miami Vice Episode with sound track besides Calderone's return part 2 with the Russ Ballard Voice's and Mr Mister Kyrie. Take me back to the 80's.
This is Miami. In film and infiction. thumbs up!
I like the video scene at the moment of: 1:08 with the eerie fog and the hearse. Nice.

Rest in Peace papa legba!
What a creepy episode this was. Introduced me to 2 really cool songs. "Phantom Living" and "Can't Turn Back."
Their Goth songs were amazing, The Fixx had some dark stuff.
@spasmolytic2 I agree with you!, Miami Vice best series, best songs!
I luv this part
My favorite track period by them! You can purchase Phantoms from The Fixx's website
LOVE THE END
nice timing of "staring at a photograph" at 0:54
