    Listening to the song "Africa", which was a huge #1 hit in Asia, by the American band Toto, while watching some Scots sheer huge sheep, and a German being smashing help, is a truly cathartic relaxing experience, and the definition of the internet in 2023.

    Those sheep look so calm and cool in the hands of the shearers, it makes me more relaxed! My cats protest more when I trim their claws, and they have the procedure quite often.
    It looks kinda dangerous to have the sun beam onto you the whole day. Especially with everyone having very fair skin. And it must be just hot working there under the direct sun. There must be some way to erect a simple tent to protect from the sun.
    Be careful, you are precious.

    I have a question. Does this wool get used for anything? It looks rather coarse and matted?
    If it doesn't, why not have hair meat breeds of sheep, so you don't have to worry about shearing or flystrike, and they don't have to put energy into growing wool, so would gain weight faster?

    Why is that paddock loose stones instead of grass or concrete? Also a question about the Hedge rows have those always been used that way or is a relatively new think to do. I seems like a great way to separate fields and probably decreases your need for fencing.

    • @TheSheepGame
      @TheSheepGame  Год назад

      So loose stones are great because they drain well and stay clean without any input. Also cheaper than concrete.
      The hedges have several functions, mainly to make fencing easier back in the day but also to prevent wind blowing off top soil, shelter for animals from wind and sun. Also a great habitat for birds and other wildlife. 👍
